  1. Hi all,I am also looking for a FSM for my boss' office. Anyone has good FSM to recommend?
  2. Hi May-jie! Thanks for the compliments; to receive one from you is a real bonus woh...hehe We don't wish to go running to Andrew whenever there is a problem cos he had made it clear at initial stage that he is now in-charge of sales and we should liaise directly with the project supervisor, Daren, for all reno-related matters So Seth & I very "guai" (i.e. good boy good girl LOL ) and only approached Daren for all problems UNLESS things/follow ups are not done even after "haunting" Daren a few times I have called and spoken to Daren this morning to remind him with "warning", "threats", "deh-ism", "pleads" and whatever way I can to drill in his mind to remind and make 10000000000% sure that his carpenter DOES NOT SCRATCH OR DAMAGE ANYTHING (the wall, floor tiles, WiW shelves, bed & frame, light, switches, door, TV console etc etc etc) during the repair/replacement otherwise I will hold him/Andrew responsible Thanks Reiki Yah, Seth & I want to keep the house with minimum furnishings as much as possible cos that will give us more space + less cleaning Honestly, I also can't imagine how the carpenter can rectify the faulty & broken door besides replacing it...just hope whatever they do, fix the problem in the most effective, efficient and hassle-free way...can really cry when I think of having to do the major spring cleaning all over again
  3. Hi DOEL, thanks for your compliment...me so happy Jason aka Jaskel's mobile number is 83222858
  4. Just as Seth & I thought the reno + touch-ups are finally over and we can eventually live in a clean and dust-free home without any more stress and headaches, the sliding door of the WIW malfunctioned and cracked at the corner last evening!!! The door got stucked and could not slide at all when it was fully opend and the lamination warped at the bottom corner Honestly, I personally feel that the carpentry work really cannot make it I am one who is very particular about workmanship and finishing of carpentry works and they far failed my expectation 1) The joint lines are pretty obvious, for some areas I can even see the wood behind the lamination! It would have been worse if I had not requested for ABS trimming for at least the exterior of all the carpentry works. 2) There are drilled holes here & there in the interior of the cabinets/drawers which are obviously "mistakes" during the installation. Altho the carpenter covered the holes with some white round stickers but these stickers just come off when you wipe the area 3) There are tiny chips & scratches that I have spotted and I even spotted a screw sticking out from one of the drawers and that screw serves no purpose in its position so when the contractor removed it, there is AGAIN another hole And now, the WIW!!! Arrghhh.... I mean, a warped limination within 2 weeks of completion is totally unacceptable! Not to mention the stucked sliding door I just hope the contractor can quickly do something to rectify that and the rectification work will not involve and sawing, drilling or anything that will create dust and dirt! I am really very sick & tired with the delay x 2 and I was already not very satisfied with the tiling work (grout lines are dirty & obvious plus dark patches here & here spotted) and now this...SIGH....
  5. Mina-san, thank you so much for all the recommendations on the wedding dinner venue I found another good deal (I personally feel so lah ) with Grand Park City Hall, which is one of the hotels under Park Royal Hotel Group The minimum no. of tables is 6 tables of 10 pax but I managed to negotiate for 4 tables Think will probably settle for that unless receive any violent objection from anyone
  6. A closer view of the white tiles, which have some kinda 3D effect design on it but not sure if you can see it here...and also the red mosaic tiles, which I like very much Wanted more of it to be put up but it's very ex and we do not want to take advantage of the contractor hence settle for a simple 3 streak in one row design
  7. This is the far overview of the room toilet, where the vanity will be shifted outside the shower/toilet area and which can be assesed from the MBR and the study/guest room.
  8. This is the left and the right side of the common toilet. The space is so cramp with the reno supplies lying everywhere, really difficult to take pics with full view The white tiles have some fine lines (yes, Seth and I are very into subtle line designs that are visible only on close-ups The heater will be installed on the black tiles area
  9. Ok...some photo updates on the reno Went down with my mum on Tues night after visiting my sister at the hospital and took some pics...it was very dark hence pardon for the poor lighting & photography skill ------------------------------------------------------- The living room and kitchen from the main entrance. As you can see the wall between the LR and kitchen is gone and LR extended in about 1m, where the white homegenous tiles ended The left wall of the kitchen where the cabinet will be installed. The red tiles are actually the back-splash for the cabinet. There are actually some fine line design on the tiles but can't capture the design on the camera And the tiles look brighter and more glossy when we saw it at the tiles supplier but here it looks grainy and dull Hope it's becos of the dust and low light supply The right wall of the kitchen where the WM and fridge will be.
  10. Like Seth said, our so-called "Wedding Dinner" is really just a no-frill simple dinner with family & close relatives hence we only need at max. 4 tables of 10 persons Chinese sit-down dinner. But you are so right, it's soooooooooo difficult (almost mission impossible) to find a hotel that allows dinner for 4 tables with the privacy of small function room Only managed to find one but it's a boutique hotel (Gallery Hotel). Their minimum pax is 50 but I managed to negotiate for a 4-table package, but don't know how good is the hotel... scared it's really those low-standard & budget hotel Chinese restaurant is an alternative but gotta find one that has private function room cos it's a private event after all...we will see how ba Photo shoot will only be in Oct/Nov but have already bought a package from Bliss Bridal that includes items needed for the actual day and photo shoot Thanks Marshy. My sister is fine...was **** worried that it might be stroke, damaged blood vessels or worse, brain tumour cos there's family history of uncle who died of brian tumour from my paternity side But thank GOD she's fine
  11. At the moment, all the dates & time seem fine but as our reno is ongoing and end June/early July is close to our handover date thus availability is volatile I shall pass voting but will definitely be there on the confirmed date if schedule permits
  12. GOOD NEWS! All reno permit approved le!!! I practically called the HDB Officer every other day to give him "gentle reminder" to expedite our application I think he hear my name only he gets migraine lah Ooohh...SO HAPPY! I like the lights provided it really has that rainbow colour effects in its chandeliers And Seth is just being modest, he has excellent taste! Otherwise he couldn't have chosen me HAHA! I myself feel paiseh after saying it Jokes aside but really lor, his taste is not bad at all lah We are doing plastering to all the walls and uh-hem..you know where lah but not having cove lights cos scare while we enjoy the bliss of home-sweet-home in our new place, xiao bai (lizards) and xiao qiang (coakroaches) also start to have theri housewarming in our false ceilings! LOL! I like your contractor's analogy of wall/ceiling plastering and girls putting on make-up! I think one of the reasons L-box and false ceiling are getting very popular nowadays is also thanks to HDB's poor make-up skill
  13. WoW! $1K savings?!?! Good on you, wei2! Hmm...but my contractor already slashed his profit margin quite dearly to accommodate to my budget le leh...I feel bad to ask to remove & outsoure the window installation..scared his profit margin will be further trimmed and he get scolded by his partner I mean, I want to achieve win-win situation with my contractor lor Your case different mah, cos your reno contract does not include window installation in the first place right? I will discuss with Seth (my hubby) and see how ba...
  14. Wow...sounds like some stock broker in action leh... Me known for being nonchalant aka blur thus really gotta train HARD HARD before I even consider online bidding When got the chance, you demo during your housewarming lah OMG...poor Ely...sayang *pat*pat* Cannot imagine a dainty you (you mentioned you are 156cm right??) having to face these loads of stress and frustrations... I agree with Marshy, maybe you should speak to the boss and demand things get rectified ASAP..no further excuses Sometimes it could be just that the IDs are inexperience in handling & managing these sub-cons who are too experienced & proud to listen to IDs... I really hope everything will turn out smoothly & nicely for you eventually
  15. Gee...Ely...you must be a super noble saint pet lover! But I am not even your 1% cos I really do not have that TLC and big warm kind heart My liking for animals is not so strong that I want to take them in as pets and take care of them like my babies... >_<
  16. Wooh...bad girl...men like! I can imagine you must be the centre of attraction type of girls during your school days...perhaps even now
  17. But my contract witht he contractor comes with supply & labour for the windows hence if outsource to a window installer, it will mean additional cost...no budget for that So have to make do with lourve window loh... Hope the tiling of your fridge base and the piping area can be rectified and become swee swee
  18. Hi wei2, congrats to you in your new house! Correct me if I am wrong but I thought (according to my contractor) top-hung windows are not allowed for toilets as per HDB reno regulation? If it is allowed then I must cho-cho my contractor to do mine as top-hung cos I wanted that but he said cannot You can ask your tilers to cut those small pieces to even smaller pieces so that the joints can be smooth and rounder. It is can be done; just more tedious & requires patience. Not acceptable Better ask your contractor to quickly rectify that. Re-cut/tile that pipe area or do something to hide that jagged tile.
  19. Wow...conspiracy in the brew! Dear Dear! You very bad leh! Threatened me to have quick showers in future with roaches threat (he said he will not put any drainage trap in the shower room so that I will be showering in fear of "roaches invasion" and as a result I will take shorter shower ) then now trying to conspire with others to make me accept having cats... Sleek jie (or mei???), I adore kittens and puppies, just like I love babies & toddlers cos they are simply cute & adorable with heart-melting innocence BUT to have one and bring them up & take care of them...me no such patience, discipline, responsibility & TLC in doing that PLUS I have history of asthma in my childhood hence I am afraid my respiratory system will become problematic if I come in contact with animal fur for long period
  20. Ok, you girls grab the cosmetic/skin care products. I shall target at those art pieces & interesting stuff she bought online! Let's raid her place clean! LOL!
  21. No Worries! I will be dedicated in caring for the plant to ensure it grows nicely. I will trim the leaves every other day to ensure the secretion of the sap/scent that will keep the roaches away. I will clear the excess every night so that our house won't end up getting infested by mosquitoes. Leave that to me! Hmm...I am sure the price is also champion lor Err...I prefer to work in Raffles Place. Previous work place is located there and it took me only 25mins to commute to work including total 15 mins of walking time to MRT stn & office. Now I need total 45mins travel time to get to work at Suntec...hence always late Good luck to both of you for the reno.
  22. Seth & I were considering this red couch from IKEA but were concerned about its quality and comfort. It's made in dyed split leather from cattle. The white and orange ones are selling at S$379 but we like the red one, which is selling at S$699! The above furniture shop at Suntec also has a red sofa in bonded (recylced) leather at S$599. Actually saw nicer ones but all too ex le Can't afford to spend so much now. I rather settle for something decent & within our budget than to stretch ourselves. We can always change them or add on nicer stuffs later
  23. Coincidentally, found the exact dining table that we bought at Hommage. Price is about the same..S$100 cheaper at Hommage but this one got nicer chair selection
  24. Found this furniture/furnishing shop (it was there all the while just that sotong me never realised its existence lah ) at Suntec Tower 3 where some stuff are relatively cheap & nice. Took its latest brochure during lunch and post it here for forumers who might be interested. They participated in GSS and have new stock coming next week and also in July/Aug.
  25. WoW! That is really sexy & enticing! Ely must have had a lot of practices in front her hubby even tho she claimed "The Husband is too zoned out watching the TV to even notice her Girls Gone Wild version" Must start finding whose house reno include a pole or bar top, then Ely can do pole/bar top sexy dance YES! Catnip! Catnip! Catnip! We MUST get Catnip! XiaoQiang is my achilles heel I can really go all crazy & hysterical when I see one. I ever had a whole sleptless night with adrenaline pump after trying to kill one & at the same time dodging it in extreme fear
