Lina has just handed over the house to me. It's a long Reno journey which lasted more than 3 months... Anyway, I've passed to her the digital lock contact which she has requested on your behalf...

Sofa has just been delivered, looks great...but haven't sat on it for a long period yet as have not moved into the new house until mid Oct...hope it can last me at least 5 years... Was given a warranty card for 5 years warranty on the structure, but not on the leather...hmm....

Just got my Samsung SHS6020 installed yesterday by Interlock...great price and good service, the installer is skillful and very detailed too. Overall, very satisfied with the end product, hope it can last me a long time too.

Finally, I've met up with the famous Mr Chew. Appointment is not hard to make, as long as it doesn't fall on weekends - that would have to be 1 month in advance according to him. 1 day before appointment date, reminded him for the appointment in the following day and have requested him to try to come slightly earlier, He was not happy and replied he can only try his best. Arrived earlier than the agreed time on day of appointment, he is definitely more friendly in person than over the phone. Pretty fast in his measurements, not much advice given until I asked whether few particular windows should go with curtains or blinds, he suggested with his expertise & experience. Spoilt for choices of fabric, he was patient enough to show all what I was keen...but none is outstanding, just those common materials seen everywhere. Brought him to downstairs coffeeshop and bought him kopi while he was doing his calculation, he became more chatty to share with me his business and family. Quoted me $2,640 and quickly stated $2,600 is final price without any further discount, before I even opened my mouth. He said confidently that nobody else in Singapore is able to provide me better price...I just smiled at him and told him I will revert with my decision in few days time. He is the 5th curtain maker I've invited to come by for quotation and his price is the 2nd highest, though by not much. Anyway, price is just 1 of the deciding factors, always believe quality of materials, workmanships, services are equally important. So my assessment on Mr Chew base on my observations are: Price - 7/10 Material - 6/10 Workmanship - not sure but base on his description should worth a 7/10 Service - 5/10

Hi bro, can give a short review on your Samsung digital lock? I'm considering this model as well...still can't decide whether should I get the biometric 1 or this... Thanks.

Mine is progressing slowly...just got the carpentry works measurements done, so believe in 2 weeks time will be able to see all the major items completed. Jackson is nice too. I feel he is a responsible guy and willing to listen. I've made several amendments and additions after the confirmation of the scope of works, but he just took the pain and rectified for me without making noise, despite having to make several more trips to cover the additional works. All wires have been laid, now waiting for the ceilings to be installed so as he can proceed to install the lights and ceiling fans.

I went to EL showroom twice, was served by 2 different sales-persons, none of them told me those sofa sets advertised on papers are only half leather, but just kept stressing those are top grain leather...until I realized on my own the different feel of the leather at the arm-rest and the back of the sofa and started questioning them, then the salesperson (the first 1 didn't even want to admit) unwillingly told me it's not full grain at the back...but then again questioned me back "why do you need genuine leather if you are not using, touching, sitting on it?". I'm not saying they were trying to bluff me, but it's better to be upfront and explain to customers all the goods and bads about the products they are selling, no point just mentioning all the pros of the items and hiding all the cons. Just let the customers know the different prices for different materials used for different package, customers can make comparisons and decisions on their own which to go for, never question back the customers why want to throw money into the drain by getting something which they think it's not necessary.

Hi all, I've bought a KDK wall mounting exhaust fan for my kitchen, was advised by the seller that it should not be mounted on window pane (my initial plan). I've my hob in front of a row of sliding window, how should I mount it? Kindly share your suggestion... Thanks.

My contractor suggests to cut out the dimension of wall tiles on the wall and place the mirror such that the mirror surface if flush with the tiles surface next to it, don't think the mirror will "rust". Anyway, I'm thinking of doing up aluminium frame for the mirror, but also worry it may corrode when come into contact with water. Any comment?

I've a bad experience at Xclusive as well. Was looking at the L-shape sofa sets, but suspect they aren't genuine cowhide leather as claimed by the salesperson they are 100% top grain cowhide leather. Thus told him likely I can't make a purchase decision on the spot as I would like to go to a few more shops to take a look. He immediately walked away and went to a room for his meal leaving me alone though I told him I would like to take a look at their dining sets. Once he knows I've no intention to buy, he just walked away without leaving a single word...I walked out from the showroom and he still stared at me with his mouth full of food.
