  4. for kitchen appliances, i bought from bkc. ban kim chuan. Their prices were cheaper than harvey, courts, *spam, paris silk.... somewhat a lust/must to have brand uniformity in the kitchen. Stainless Steel Oven HBN331E2J Stainless steel 45cm Build-in Microwave oven HMT75M651 60 cm Stainless Steel Chimney hood DWW062750 No Frost CoolSpace Side-by-Side Refrigerator Chrome Inox (Metalic) KAN62V40
  5. what a waste...while doing reno, my workplace threw 5 of these old but still good conditioned cabinets.

  7. in the midst of it all, must take a break, refresh and recharge. Les Bistrot mirrors... bird cage... more ideas for mirrors......frames......wall lamps frames......pictures.....random photos
  8. gas pipe routing. installed city gas heater. should save more money instead of electrical heater. for anyone who are interested in installing, it takes 20s to heat up only.
  9. tiler double checking the tilling pattern that i wanted. i reminded him to double check with me in case he needs to redo. at the same time, city gas came. I read that some of you were really unlucky and get lousy workmanship. Maybe staying around to watch them do might spur them to do a proper job. didnt like that the gas meter was installed in the kitchen. now every month SP services estimate our gas usage and we will have to submit meter readings online. chicken backside man.
  10. hello aya, the walls and flooring here not good enough lar. we panicked actually. Its just not grey grey enough. everynight we would take torchlight and go check on the tone of the cement. in the beginning, we told our contractor if the colour of the cement is wrong, we will stop the whole reno. do or die :furious: bang! :fire: anyway, there are many different grades of cement.
  11. yes...yes. They only have 5-6 items. Once sold can say byebye to it. Unless you ask them quickly if they are going to reproduce it. Some of their items are priced ridiculously high while there are some that they priced quite reasonable. I also dont know how they calculate it.
  12. i 2nd this. sry bro! the crystal chandellier.... your home must be renamed to modern scandinavian anime baroque house
  13. so all this took 3-4days (hacking + plastering) then it was time to put in a new rubbish chute cover and as you can see on the left side of the pic, a new fresh cement platform is created for the kitchen cabinet. we are going for the suspended kitchen cabinets. pros to it is that while washing the kitchen floor there is no need to worry about water. it also makes the kitchen more open and 'airy'. cons to it is less storage space. standing from kitchen looking at the living room. left side is brick wall still drying.
  14. meanwhile the wall covering the sliding glass door has been erected with bricks then filled with cement and then plastered. cant play with cement too long because it will suck all the water from your hand and makes it very wrinkly.
  15. k found the paint shop for cheap can sprays. can buy your masking tape n brushes there.
  16. thank you for the link. Will b useful for other ppl. Just want to make sure didnt get chopped badly. Got a lot of shops sell this arino for $500. Really just eat the $150 extra like that.
  17. Yah i hope they will cut for u for free. If cant, ask your carpenters to cut. Confirm free one. 2m desk is a very nice long length. =) For any left overs, maybe can use it for chopping board or pizza board too. i bought the sprays from a paint shop in geylang. while i was there, it seems that a lot of contractors will come and buy all their paint from him. i am trying to find online his location. just to gauge how cheap his items will be: a normal spraying nippon can will be $7-8 at hdb shops while he charges $5.50. He has an in-house brand which he charges $2.50 each. I bought about 6 black cans for the 4 fans double coating. For another diy job later, i bought 62 white spray cans.
  18. you flat is one of a kind and mine wont be as nice and clean cut as yours . yar... no matter how many places i go, i just cant find any proper looking fan. Those lamps that are fixed underneath the motor....
  19. wooohoo, adidaem finally visit my blog. jjang ! :sport-smiley-018: We did see similar-ish fans like this but the didnt like the curly depression of the motor. Thank you for the link. A lot of the other silent readers will surely check it out.
  20. depression in the bathroom wall for facial wash. re-edited the layout for the toilet tiles. at this time, the kitchen floor is also done up.
  21. Blocked off the old passageway with a wall. this will be used to hide glass sliding door. cement flooring drying nicely to give the lighter colour
  22. finished product on the ceiling. There is 1 in study room, 1 in living room, 1 in mbr and 1 in kitchen (this fan is a saviour)
  23. DIY black fans Cant find a simple black and low-lying and cheap fan. All those sold in shops have those lamps attached to the bottom of the fan and its really not what we want. haiku fan is nice but to have 4 of it is going to be costly. So we bought 4 white fans (fanco i think) @ $80 each and then sprayed it black. Its best to spray a thin coat first and let it dry 1-2 hrs before spamming the other layers on. This will give a nice even finish.
