  1. besides the study desk below the spiral staircase, the other challenging thing i have now is how to mount the several photo frames that i bought, as i want them overlap each other. 3D effect... any suggestions? see my previous moodboard for the house...
  2. am very pleased with the progress so far... gaincity came yesterday 10am to install the cassette and system 2 aircon, the house was like war zone! installation not finished and will continue today till 3pm... now i understand why pay more for conceal piping... praying hard everything turns out well. if not the redo... i cant imagine... windows were too small for the compressor and they have to remove the glass panel, installed back anyway... and of course, i truly wish to remove the grille and asked if they can do it. cant leh disappointed. bought curtain for the house too, it cost $28 per meter last month, went joo chiat complex yesterday, merchant sale! paid only $5.30 per meter. am going to sew this for living room curtain and wardrobe's door.... love it! Uploaded with ImageShack.us and have chosen roses for my chandeliers and beaming... for the simulated four-poster bed... looking forward to see the completion... although many have said cornices and roses are old fashioned, but i believe they gonna make my little house beautiful. they will...
  3. moodboard for the house... patrick kept jokingly said, paint black for the whole house la, paint black, actually dats wats on my mind... but have done it for my first house, wanted to explore other colors... anyway, after playing a few rounds with the colors, yes, i really want black Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  4. when i read your reply, i suspected its him too!!! :P his worker is pretty cock up lor, this i agree... but got problems, he will rectify one leh. so far, mine all solved, and i think his worker lost 1 of my swarovski chandelier's screw, so for 3 years, i have 1 missing cyrstal! this time my trip to china, i got few spare and the poor crystal finally up with the rest!! i started to read floor plan since 9years old and love to draw furniture and house planning.. wanted to do interior design after o level but arts teacher told me graphic has more prospect, so i gave up my interest to pursue 'money'. when i went sydney to further my eduction, i wanted to do interior design, but it will takes me 3yrs instead of 2yrs to get a master. so i gave up my interest again. there are at least 5 people who approached me already, and i have many friends too. but my present work schedule is... when i work, i sleep like only 5hrs a day! i have no time to do interior design, and the tot of laising with workers... i think i will go crazy... but this whole month, i'm not working cos i need rest and wanna do up a nice house. i dismantled the chandeliers and pack them in boxes, so now i need to do assembly. after installation, i will then hang the crystal 1 by 1... did this 3yrs ago.
  5. i used to use eric, he has gone missing!!! i have a few that friends recommended, but pte property, you dun get hdb price anymore... eventually i still let patrick to do cos its easier for him to coordinate. his workers all know each other ma! i dun need to ship, fly back with me and friends.
  6. i have 3 chandeliers at my present flat only clean like thrice in 3 years!!! actually maintenance is easy. wear cotton glove, hold the crystal and rub 1 by 1, it takes me easily 15mins for this... about 40crystals... easy! actually am pretty excited to see hb's carpentry works, i use a pretty bold laminate... glossy black with some uneven color of brown... not my usual conservative kind of choice. it comes with matching abs timming (if not called wrongly), and pretty excited to see the work of the study desk under the spiral staircase, its a very challenging carpentry to do
  7. my friends would not dare to spill... am going to sew a protective cover for the arm rest, so it wont get dirty easily...
  8. the 2nd set inovna or something like this from furniture malll
  9. from the shop in great world city, 2nd or 3rd floor, forgot the name, definitely not iwannagohome....
  10. am going to install samsung shs-1320 digitsl lock, wanted gateman f10, but was told anyone could just change the password from inside the house! wonder if anyone has installed this and could share experience? desmond was the guy that i'm going to purchase, price is cheaper then retail shops. $320 with installation! bought joven 35l storage heater today and was glad i accidentally met irene at this heritage bathroom gallery!! she was from universal union and i had bought all my stuff from her the last time, very patience and gentle lady! i asked for her when i called up universal union past 2 mths and they refused to tell me where she has gone... hahaha, actually, just NEXT DOOR! and yes, got the 35l at pretty good price. highly recommended

  13. hi honeygal, got the revised quote fr patrick le... its around my budget leh but electrical is still a little more ex than my other quotes. anyway, yours got hacking and laying of tiles, my house, got hacking but its carpentry only and no laying of tiles, so cant compare. further more, my floor is laminate, that is, overlay onto my tiles. so i save some money... but you know, to engage a reliable contractor to do your tiles is important! my previous house took me more than 3 months and work done is ok only... book cabinet warped... wardrobe door knob broken and i dont know how to fix it! tried digging out to find a replacement and cant! nice to took at but not functional at all! wats the point...? whereas my parents house, a nice job done. esp the kitchen & living room cabinet. beautiful hobee is quite strong in their carpentry. this time, gave them some challenging stuff to do...
  14. hi honeygal, i have a 3rm flat too!! http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?au...blogid=209& thought you started your reno? saw your blog... everything suppose to be done by him, but till now no finalized quotation, job done halfway le. your blog is worrying me... electrical is definitely ex, cos i have quotation for $30 installation of each chandelier whereas his is $50. the quote from other electrical is still bargainable. my chandeliers were bought from china.
  15. actually i believe patrick and his people from hobee are pretty trustable, i left my house for them to hack forgetting that i have to clear the cabinets & stuff!! after i was back from holiday... am really glad and surprise to see the tv, theater system, kitchen appliances, hangers etc all nicely put in the storeroom. feel bad and am very grateful actually... nice touch. carpenter ah long just called me cos i wish to deepen my study area. my worries was extra! he already did it without my saying great! am looking forward to the completion. the most headache thing now is to find a nice fabric for curtain... black black curtain...
  16. i'm having this smell thing at present home now, if i bake pizza or fish, the smell will go into the rooms too, 65sqft house, very small... but it will disperse after few hours... just hope it wont get trapped in the sofa. alamak, i always prefer to choose to believe in people. i have lots of things inside already, from paintings to lampshades, better go to pick up tonight. imagine, i have been living with housemates in sydney and singpaore for 7-8yrs, never had once lock up bedroom doors, and so far nothing went missing! i believe in trust. so far the only valuable things in the house are my paintings and painted table lamps. cant find about 7-8 multi plug adaptors and chandeliers mounting screws, tot i brought the screws over and couldnt find since yesterday... am still searching. probably misplaced them. got these nice lacquer paintings fr vietnam... 17. hi merydith, thanks for sharing... yup can understand the pain. but i guess i'm not worried about the spill... my house is kids-proof! its so small that i cant afford to have kids running around. imagine 861sqft, 2 floor so each is only 461, minus off space for the spiral staircase and huge store room that is 2m x 1.2m!! as for cooking, i usually bake cos its healthier. no deep fry, less than 10 times a year will cook stir fry rice/curry etc... dun like food smell in the house lor. no no no... i will be staying at this apt. this is the one that's rented. my 3rm flat at telok blangah http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?au...blogid=209& piccasso came visited my home!! duno who etched my rubbish chute!! from full overnight running tap to lights not switch off to duno wat's up next... so scared that i quickly brought back my chandeliers and put the tv console in the storeroom... hope these workers can be more responsible.
  18. i cant make up my mind, to buy the fabric or leather sofa... my place is open kitchen concept, am afraid that the fabric sofa will trapped food smell... hopping someone can share their experience about having fabric sofa... the maintenance and durability...
