when i first saw the sofa, it was retail at 2800 for leather. however, sales told me PU is equally good and for the fact that pu is softer, so i opt for pu. but it was torn within a year. om suggested me to top up $800 saying they will bear the rest of the cost. i agreed and then, 3yrs. gone again. totally disappointed with them.

i paid more than $2k for this l-shape sofa. i dont know what is wrong with OM! i bought dinning chair, not leather, and they are still in very good condition despite 5yrs already. am so disappointed with them. anyway, tey said will come tomorrow to check on the sofa.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us can someone pls tell me what happened to my 3yo leather sofa? or can share your experience? how long can a leather sofa last? lightly used, stay alone in the house and always work late. initially i bought a PU sofa, it was torn in less than 1 yr. OM told me if they replace the pu sofa, the problem gonna come again. so they suggested to pay $800 to upgrade the l-shape sofa to leather. i happily paid $800 and this took them 6mths to deliver. leaving me using the torn pu sofa for another 6months. now, its 3 yr, it starts to peel/crack again. i condition the sofa every 2-4months. what would you do? other parts of sofa also going to crack/peel soon... i bought another 3 seater sofa for my mum. the seat is one piece leather seat. however, the one piece leather seat is made up of 2 pieces of foam or sponge or whatever you call it running across the 3 seater horizontally (both inside the leather of course), as per the pix. Uploaded with ImageShack.us the ex manager told me. the sofa design is made this way. and guess what, as you sit on the soft, u start to slide down... is this defect? or is there such sofa design?

thanks patsy_sg, have a post graduate degree and am a practicing designer (design and advertising) for the past 19yrs... my passion for interior design started since the age of 9. but my contractor is very helpful and supportive, without them, the house may not turn out to what i expected...

definitely! Just finished packing 80% of stuff.... Rest let my helper to do le... Bruises all over my body n super tired! This afternoon is sofa n bed delivery!!! and then will put up crystals on my chandeliers. Thereafter continue to sew curtain, only 40% done so far happy to see the house is shaping up!!

moved in 2 days ago, no choice as the other house is tenanted. so i'm living with all the paint and dust!! tomorrow will be final round of paint touch up! beds and sofa to be delivered on monday frames are finally up few days ago!!! xiao long and xiao di have done it in such a way that they are removable and adjustable!!! already said they are the best lor, everything they do they put some tots into it, i tot they would just want easy way out. MOUNT EVERYTHING ONTO THE WALL LOR!!! but no, which means, in future, if i wanna change frames or layout, it is possible. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us rubbish chute also replaced.. but huge and shinny la... its the centre of focus in the yard now have also installed samsung 5210 digital lock, beautiful! desmond is pretty helpful, sent him a mail at 12midnight for manual in english, he actually called me up to guide me to change the pin. appreciated very pleased with the new beautiful door lock!! very pleased with my house so far! once beds & sofa in and curtains are up. the house is ready for housewarming!! oh yes... ho bee is replacing my scratched kitchen granite. very pleased, no argument about the scratched like my 1st reno where i was forced to accept defect, the supplier shouted at me to accept and i chased him out of the house and made a police report. the reno is so far a pleasure! problems were rectified swiftly, no big hiccups and headache

agree that contractor should keep up their quality of work. esp the part that workers need to be careful with original furnishings. my parquet, spray tap, rubbish chute etc were damaged (not all by hobee's workers but also gain city aircon installer), so i installed laminate over my parquet and my rubbish chute was changed and no more cute and nice... it is now huge cos got to cover the damage tiles & hole and shinny as a mirror as for the communication, i guess we human are not perfect, there's bound to be things forgotten, missed out or workers have their reasons for not doing or something else was replaced, so be open for discussion. communication is not just between contractor and you, but also involves workers. so sometimes, if i happened to be in the house and see workers doing work, i will kaypo ask them, this one put here one hoh? this one like this one hoh? if something is not right, straight away i will inform patrick (i'm so free cos i stop my work for 1.5mths to do this reno). actually, to think about it, who likes to redo their work? waste of time and money. for the cleaning part, i'm allergic to dust and a fussy *****! so i told patrick my maid and i will clean it personally before laminate. we sweep, hepa cyclone vacuum, magic mop, cloth mop, hand mop, dettol mop, we even wash! but you know wat, esp rooms that have hacking, we cleaned like over 10times, it just cant be 100% clean!! my maid kept saying, stil dirty, still dirty. eventually i surrender, we duno where the dust comes from!!! so, i believe its pretty impossible to clean the house to its original condition after reno. so lower you standard a little when come to cleaning... if not, you can try cleaning and u will understand...

my 2 pieces of kitchen granite top are scratched. hobee is changing le. actually if you are not happy, you should voice out... i did lor, cos i hate to see scratches!! fr the varnish, also can be solved one ma, tell patrick la.. mayb he can resand it!!! put everything in email is no good enough... i text patrick or mrs quek for important highlight... and will tell them, DONT FORGET HOH... cos i wll 'tiu' one!!

did they do a special compartment besides the utensil tray??? my tray is like nowhere!!! cos its too small for the drawer and i gonna return to long-ge!!! just came back from ikea, bought a lot of modular container to do up the compartments now...

Wahahaha! Patrick also haven collect money fr me n I'm running away!!!! Change lock this sat!!! It's the little things that Patrick doEs that u will be touched lor, my reno started wen I was overseas! My tenant moved out 1 day after I left n Patrick started work immediately. Every thing was in the cabinet! Cookware, utensils, plates, kitchenware n electrical stuff, plus tv, home theatre system, fridge... The house was fully furnished. Patrick removes these things for me n packEd nicely in the storeroom! I only know I want to reno n forgot about removing these stuff, no words fr Patrick n no asking for cedit, he removed them! My granite was scratched, he sent his workers to resolved but can't, so he is changing for me now! Hobee has busy schedule, of course there's a reason. My friend can't stop praising him! He did not even go to see his reno, patrick overlooked everything n did a fantastic job! I did glass doors for my 1st house n now for my this house, 1st one done by Id, the quality is different! Of course I'm very pleased w patrick's! N i have a lot of things to hang, pix frames, paintings, curtain tracks etc... W such busy schedule, his wotkers still help me tofinih up... Every reno is problematic one... So relax... TAke it easy mate...

no contactor is perfect, bcos a lot of things are beyond their control. Accidents do happen n everyone makes mistake. As long as it's solved swiftly, problems = no problem it's just how you look at things... I won say hobee is perfect, can't be anyway... but I would he is reliable n u need not worry, problems will be solved I just moved in my new place today! Very pleased.
