Hubby likes it cos of the height - unlike most other hoods, you won't get the dreaded 'I hit my head on the hood' effect. As for suction power - not sure leh. We don't do any oily cooking and have not experimented with/without hood effect. ID contact is in my signature... and my 1st post.

Wow a lot of work. From H&D: http://www.homeanddecor.com.sg/asksophie/smooth-finish Question: my bathroom’s new raw cement floor is rough and dusty. What can seal the floor and walls and give a smooth finish? Answer: A finished cement floor should not be rough. Your contractor needs to add the top layer of fine cement screed, then apply a coat of polyurethane sealant (available at builders’ shops) to further waterproof and protect the smooth finish of the floor. Don’t worry about the cement dust. It will decrease as the concrete dries out and hardens. Once you apply the sealant coat, dust should stop clinging to your feet. A more decorative way to seal floors is to use tinted cement grouting in the screed. Go for delicate tints like aqua, grey-blue or sea green. You’ll find lots of grout colours at the tiling and builders’ shops. It pays to spend more for grouting with an epoxy mix as this incorporates a sealant and ensures that the colour and texture stay matte and silky.

Electic Design

The owner blogged in RT, but the photo links no longer work. The home was featured in H&D tho: http://www.homeanddecor.com.sg/homes/eclectic-appeal Tends to be colorful and whimsical: http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=eclectic+decor&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=vNijT8GeLMHPrQfpypmcBg&biw=1439&bih=780&sei=v9ijT6yBBoisrAe506mVBg -

I don't think LEGO stores sell them, but you can try asking (I've been trying with some stores for years and no luck yet tho). I got mine a few years back when I chanced upon the last fig on sale at a toy store. Ebay has a few, but at ridiculous prices: http://www.ebay.com.sg/sch/i.html?_nkw=lego+display+19+&_sacat=0&_odkw=lego+display+man&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313 Cheaper via Bricklink, the unofficial LEGO marketplace for collectors: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?q=display+figure

In case you want more... the sale has been extended till 6 May. http://emrenoblog.wordpress.com/2012/04/30/brandsfever-kitchenware-sale/ So what did you get? Too bad they didn't offer the can opener and wine opener again. After using for 6 months, still highly recommended!

Exactly why I asked for roller shutter contacts in the first place... And mentioned that mine is a gen 2 layout. Really wanted to do a comparison before I sign the dotted line. Help anyone? -

Got a quote for roller shutters at $3k. Is that a reasonable price for roller shutters? Mine is a gen 2 EM. -

Anyone can recommend their contacts for roller shutters? Am thinking to install shutters for the balcony. If you are willing to share the price/details, will be much appreciated too if not then just the contact would do. Thanks in advance! -

You mean this article? http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=379664338726817 -
That's true, but some designers are willing to pass on the savings to you. Mine did and I saved quite a bit on the sanitary wares I got from the store. So I think it really depends on who your ID is and their usual practice. If you are not comfortable, then best to do some research on prices as most RT-ers do. It's not just designers by the way... contractors also get such commissions.

There you go... http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41615 There is a default filter for forum view that you can change at the bottom - change from 90 days to all and you will be able to see all the old t-blogs. -
Available in retailer catalogs just seldom on display. You can try the Harvey Norman at millenia walk, or just call up the usual everjt, gab, hl, parisilk etc to check. Bosch have such microwave.

How is this different from using laminate? Pics look good, but I'll be more concerned with durability n maintenance. More pics to see: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kompacplus/

Hi Ode, Thanks but this is my first reno so I am only that much more experienced reno wise. Not sure if yours is a generic or specific question. If it is a generic one, I think I agree with this post's definition of contractor, renovator and ID. http://twentyseventhmay.wordpress.com/2012/02/22/choosing-the-right-interior-designerrenovatorcontractor/ I saw you mention your budget in another thread and I think neither my ID nor contractor can help unless you can increase your budget. Let me know if you have a more flexible budget.

Wow very hotel vibe! Nice! Congrats on your beautiful home. -
Was there any reason given? Call HDB and ask? Read before for pre-fab walls, some cannot be hacked.
