  1. Hi Defelio, love the stuff you've gotten so far and looking forward to more updates/ideas! I saw the Infinity Coffee Table at Marquis today and I absolutely love it. Unfortunately the price is really Hi fairydust, you can see the Infinity Coffee Table from the Marquis Tai Seng showroom or Lifestorey at Great World City, but looks much better at Tai Seng cos of lighting i think.
  2. Hi Potatoes, same boat. Tight budget for Reno after COV. Good luck with your reno! Good thing is GSS coming. Am hoping for some good buys.
  3. Simple Human is another brand I've been looking at, but cos I was admiring the bread bins at Robinsons (discounted)... so start with drooling about Brabantia. Plus I really like the Brabantia Wall Fix and I'm hoping someone has seen it in Singapore before. Brabantia bins seem to have a wider range of sizes than Simple Human? I haven't checked out Simple Human in depth yet. Honestly still looking, haven't made up my mind. Some of the Blomus stuff online also looks good. Maybe take the lazy way out and ask my IDs which ones look better. What do the rest of you think? Simple Human vs Brabantia small bins (for bathroom): vs
  4. Didn't get anything at the Robinsons sale for my new place, but did lots of drooling over at the household department... Anyway, was inspired enough that I decided to dig up all the Brabantia stuff that I would like to get for my new place. First, a really important question: - Anyone knows where to get the Brabantia Wall Fix? I really really like it! Brabantia Wall Fix Cool huh? It folds back into a neat little holder! Brabantia Retro Pedal Bin For my bathroom Brabantia Pedal Bin White For the kitchen, cos Ive a white kitchen but I havent seen a white one in Singapore before, so I may go with a stainless steel one after all. Brabantia Bread Bins - In white or stainless steel. Again, havent seen white ones in Singapore stores so perhaps stainless steel. On 2nd thought, perhaps stainless steel goes better with my fire-engine red Nespresso Citiz. More pics in my wordpress blog feature on Brabantia
  5. Oh the suspense... don't keep us waiting too long for the pics k?
  6. Just posted on my wordpress blog some nice lamps that I like. Unfortunately due to budget constraints, there's no way for me to get them for my new place but just to share 2 of my favourites:
  7. Wahhhh... am lucky then, but actually I dun need them till August. I really wanted the MIJ (made in Japan) models so I bought my hob n hood after considering the nuclear crisis. Also good cos can give my IDs the dimensions for them to factor into the design (think they really don't like the hood). Ahhhh... missed the sales! Sad.
  8. Can share the brand and price of the fans? What color are they? Spinning too fast so cannot really tell.
  9. Hi May, did not manage to go Robinsons today. Think will go tmr. Any good buys you'll recommend? I went to Taka a few days ago - Cozy bed skirts out of stock and Sheridan is available. Found the white pleated bed skirts in Tangs (King Koil), but after I swiped them only left off-white, light brown n maroon I think.
  10. Hi Spikey, nice stuff! I look forward to seeing more of your drool-worthy purchases. Very very expensive. I like it too... one of those 'lust at 1st sight' things. I think around 5.6K from the lighting store in Park Mall... But cannot afford to get tho... Update: Seeing the pics reminded me of one of the blog posts I created while selecting my IDs (yep, I created a blog to share pics n idea briefs with them). Went back and republished it in my wordpress blog. As you can see both the Mercury and Caboche made it in my list so I'm so envious of Spikey's spending power to get 2 of the lamps that I like so much.
  11. Went shopping today and bought bed skirts for my new place. But dunno if will use them eventually... I was quite surprised how hard it is to find bed skirts when I started looking for them. So when I came across the last each of the King Koil ones in white (one queen and one king sized), decided to get them. Just to share the brands I know that carry bed skirts in Singapore: Cozy King Koil Sheridan I actually like the Sheridan ones the best, but they cost like 4x what the other brands cost. So compromise lar, get cheaper ones. The idea is to hide the bed bases in case they are really ugly... but yeah, haven't gotten the bed bases yet. Being kiasu again. ----- Have a question for those who engaged IDs. Did you ask them what color bedsheets will look nicer/more matching with the bedroom furniture? I was looking at the bewildering array of bed linen today and wonder if they'll think I'm a total airhead if I ask them that amidst all the serious discussions on lighting points and 'flush' designs...
  12. Oh 2CG no stock? I bought 2CG instead of 3CG to 'save' some money. Ordered a few weeks ago in case the Japan nuclear problem affects stocks. Kiasu huh? Ya, easy to remember and describes me... all day thinking abt my reno.
  13. Hi bro, very nice indeed. I also wanted a lambo door and even brought my IDs to Interior Affairs showroom to show them. But one look and they said cannot cos my upper cabinets reach to the ceiling and there is no clearance to "lambo" the door upwards...
  14. Congrats! Looks nearly done huh? Your hall looks really spacious!
  15. Hi Lady R, congrats on your moving in and hope to see more pics too!
  16. 3 wall lights huh? Thanks I'll use as point of reference for my balcony. No intent to do ceiling lights cos can't change light bulb, but for fan, we are thinking to get a ceiling fan with extension rod. I would like a black fan... I thought the cubes will look like interesting feature in the balcony. And SO very supportive. He also agreed can use as stool or small table to put drinks cos they are meant for outdoors. What plants you planning to get? Went with my SO to Far East Flora (to look look, see see) over the weekend and was completely bewildered by the array of plants. Looking forward to see your chill out place k?
  17. Btw... my nickname stands for: All day I dream about (my) EM = Adidaem Inspired by Adidas... all day I dream about sports... Hey bro, most welcome to pop by. You are welcome to 'hijack' my thread if you want too, to make up for all my little hijacks.
  18. Hi, just a quick update on some of the stuff I've bought so far (and blogged earlier in my wordpress blog): Kitchen Hood: Fujioh 800MK2 Kitchen Hob: Rinnai RB-2CG Toilet & Kitchen Fixtures: Grohe Balcony Lights: XL Cubes I think I wrote quite a lot in my wordpress blog, so won't repeat again here. From the short list above, you can sort of see what I mean by I get tempted right? Sigh, am a bad gal...
  19. Thanks for all the well wishes! Hey joyous, hope you get your design finalised soon! You are so lucky to get a corner unit. 100K includes reno, fixtures, furnishings n major appliances. No choice cos is major overhaul and we have to buy nearly everything. Trying to be good and disciplined to save money but always get seduced by nice stuff... sigh... Thanks Emobebe, so far from our visits we love the location cos it's really quiet n peaceful.
  20. Hey bro, I got my own T-Blog now so dun hijack your thread too much k? U know I ordered the XL LED cubes on the spree thread right? If all goes well, they should go to my balcony. Nothing special so far... gonna ask my IDs if we can install a fan, want to put up some nice lights (think lighting is very impt, I'll check how many points needed on the wall, I think maybe one is not enough) and when we've sufficiently recovered from wallet damage, aluminium roller shutters. We toyed with having artificial grass but I think outdoor tiles cheaper n easier to maintain. We use dryer btw, so the entire balcony can be used as a nice outdoor chill-out place. Mabbe for my SO n his pals to drink beer n do some male bonding. LOL. How about you?
  21. Hi everyone! After weeks of lurking and occasionally hijacking other threads (temporarily of course! http://www.renotalk.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/biggrin.gif ), I would like to start my own T-Blog chat since I've finally confirmed my 2nd appointment date! http://www.renotalk.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/sport-smiley-004.gif 1st June is the magical day... http://www.renotalk.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/dancingqueen.gif The reno design is still being finalised with my IDs, but the brief we gave was for it to be a bright and airy apartment. For now, the design seems to involve lots of hacking, glass and other movable partitions. I'm guessing getting the HDB approval will take a while? http://www.renotalk.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/unsure.gif Just a quick background: We took a while to look for an apartment we both liked, but this was the one that both my SO & I could imagine staying for the long haul... being an EM, it's spacious with decent sized bedrooms and hall. It also had a balcony that we could imagine having cosy gatherings with friends in. The floorplan: It's a typical Gen 2 EM, but the rubbish chute is in the common area The bright living room that sparked my interest in this apartment - I won't share too many pics of it's pre-reno state as I think not so nice - like infringing on my sellers' privacy but to give an idea: http://emrenoblog.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/02-living-room.jpg And finally, the view from the living room - it cliched the deal, as we both wanted an apartment with loads of privacy. http://emrenoblog.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/99-view-from-1st-floor.jpg Thanks for sharing my reno journey! http://www.renotalk.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/yamseng.gif Update: Don't know what's wrong with Wordpress... the pics are just not showing. Hope it resolves itself later... ========================================================== UPDATE: Here are my 'before & after' pics. http://emrenoblog.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/before-after-preview.jpg Click on links below to see more: Living & dining roomsKitchen, utility & studyStairsToiletsBedroomsIf you like what you see, do refer to my posts here and in my WP blog for information on my purchases and ID. I've really been very open about where I got my stuff from and even their dimensions. Plus it's only common courtesy to check thru the blogs 1st if the info has already been provided so that I (and other RT-bloggers) do not have to answer the same question 10-over times... if you feel offended at reading this, then don't read my blog. But I hope you enjoy the pics anyway. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/yamseng.gif My IDs are: Atelier M+A If you like what you see, email them and they will call you back. Please don't expect them to give you contractor prices tho. Or ask them to quote for a "insert size" HDB flat without any discussion or seeing the floor plan yet. They are IDs, not contractors. I'm writing this cos I hear that they get weird requests from people who read my blog, which I find to be slightly embarrassing. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/ohmy.gif My contractor has requested not to be named, so I will not be providing his contact. He is actually a trained architect and providing ID services as well. So he only accepts 'project management' jobs like the one he did for my place from IDs he has worked/is friends with. He doesn't just do small carpentry jobs and I will not share my design for the TV console that I paid design fees to customize so PLS DO NOT ASK FOR MY CARPENTRY CONTACT OR TO COPY MY CONSOLE. ALSO I WILL NOT SHARE MY TOTAL RENO COST OR QUOTATION, SO PLS DO NOT ASK! I have peppered this all over the thread and on my blog but I still get requests. If you want to know why you can read this: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=40600&view=findpost&p=725278 Hate to use caps but really get a lot of such queries...
  22. Thanks! We did but just discuss as 'put 2 compressors in balcony'... LOL... Actually all my neighbours put their compressors in the balcony, so looks like no choice. We will put below the bathroom windows rather than the far side wall so not so ugly when looking from the hall. Yes, yes, am staying tuned too. Edit: Ohhhhhh. My 50th post n I'm now a bronze member.
  23. Ely is the Shopping Queen. So May is the undisputed 'Deh' Queen right? I'm in awe of your Deh Power!
  24. Bro! First the rainshowers, then Toto WCs, now aircons... gosh, so many things in common that we both like. Anyway my SO went to talk to the aircon guy n he seems to have settled on MHI. Daikin is out cos of the cost. Am leaving to him to decide on aircons cos feel a bit bad the IDs are spending so much more time on my design ideas. Hope your compressor ledge works out ok. But if the neighbours have done it should be ok right?
