Hey Sleek, I went to Bo Concept the other day and totally don't rec that you get shelves or tables from there. If you check the materials used... "our board furniture is mainly made of particle board. However, MDF (medium density fibreboard) is primarily used for furniture with organic shapes". I went to check out this extendable walnut veneer table and it was shedding wood chips (shudder...). Imagine the condition after 2 or 3 years of heavy use. And at 1.6K, it's not cheap too. Like paying double for Ikea standard.

Erm... sorry if I sound dumb, but why need individual switches? Cos I think my lights at the balcony are controlled by a single switch too.

So cool! I like! I shall put them on my list if "Things to get when my wallet finally recovers".

Hey, I received a couple of PMs, so first of all, thanks to everyone who likes them. Think I should just post that the Domicil Butterfly sofa n Calligaris Omnia table were bought from XZQT Ion Orchard. SO n I kinda like the salesperson who served us, Haznul - quite helpful. If you go down do let him know it's rec by the couple who bought the sofa n table over the weekend. The exact walnut veneer 160x90cm table is displayed at the XZQT Kaki Bukit showroom (assuming not moved or sold - so you can go n have a look) but you can get an extra 7.5% discount from the Ion Orchard store by using an Amex card (some Amex promo at Ion). If you have a big space, you can go for the 180x100cm version (displayed in the Pandan Crescent showroom). As for the sofa, it's an XZQT stock clearance as I'd mentioned earlier - either the 3S or 2.5S is available. No further discount (i.e. no Amex offer). But note that the 3S probably can't fit into the lift, and XZQT charges "carry up" charges at $20/floor. 2.5S probably can tho. Since I couldn't find a pic of the black sofa, here's the photoshopped one: As usual, more info n pics in my wordpress blog: http://emrenoblog.wordpress.com

LOL, I'm not sure if I will get tired of the stuff I got, but for now I'm going for stuff that I hope will last... so most of them have a fairly simple and hopefully timeless look. Fingers crossed! Me got no rich ah pek so cannot just buy stuff I like... so far got all my stuff during sale/special offers n not at usual retail price. Just curious, Mae-jie what do you do with the stuff you get tired of? PM sent. Thanks Ely! I do worry about how they'll all go together, but so far my IDs seem to approve of the stuff I've bought. Mabbe I should put all the stuff I've got so far into a "moodboard" and see what it looks like. Anyone knows of an easy to use program (that's free!) that I can use to create moodboards? TIA! Oh thanks! Awwwww... you remembered. Actually don't really feel like it's my place yet, cos I don't have the keys. My sellers haven't moved out. But good news is submissions tomorrow, then I will see if I should start haunting my HDB officer. My Dehtm power not that good, so may backfire if I call lor. Loads of hacking so PE endorsement needed... 2 walls downstairs and 2 upstairs. Fingers n toes crossed!

I thought it's much more? Do let me know the price k? I rem it as a 4 figure amount? Have fun shopping and I'll love to know what you eventually get. Still, I've to say I really love the Maruni chairs. Thanks for sharing your finds. One of the few I've seen that made my heart skip a beat. Unfortunately I don't have much budget left for expensive lights. Bought a few lights that are movable tho... if they last they'll travel with me to my next home. Think I've like 40 downlights to buy? Yes, furnishings are expensive, esp as I see that you have excellent (but expensive!) tastes. But do shop around. Quality varies a lot for stuff that look similar. Example I experienced is leather sofas. After sitting on those lovely Italian ones, the MIM (made in Malaysia) or those with dubious leather origins just couldn't make it whether in terms of comfort or leather quality. What I thought was of good quality when I first started my sofa search completely failed my test when I went back the 2nd time. Btw have you been to Going Dutch? They hv nice but pricey stuff. You can get the web address from my wordpress blog.

Anyone needs some Brabantia? The 10L bin has soft close function! Happy with my loots.

Hi Emobebe, the sofa is from XZQT. Only black or white available cos it's stock clearance. Will PM u the cost. Hi Jjames, I guess you are referring to the table? It's less than 3K. Will PM u the cost.

Hey Defelio, not sure if this is useful for reference.

Balcony chairs n table - almost the same as what is pictured here: - except that my chairs have handles: and this pic was in the search result n made me laugh:

Since it's the GSS weekend, we were really busy over the weekend and bought these: 3 seater sofa (but in black) Extendable dining table (usual 90x160cm, extends to 220 cm) Oh ya, there is a sexy demo for the table: [to be continued...]

Same like me... I need to see, touch, and then sometimes still cannot imagine lor. You know I dragged my IDs to Interior Affairs to see the kitchen mock-ups before deciding on the kitchen countertop height? Win right? Yeah, together Hehe, keep my new 'love' secret lar, else no surprises next time when you see my place. Why you make me sound so bad? I buy the same stuff like everyone else mah, just that I include more pics of stuff I buy cos I don't have nice 3Ds of my reno design to share. Think after I'm done with shopping n before I get my place ready, no pics to share liao. Sian... But I bought LOADS of stuff over the weekend, will look for the pics and share in the next post.

Wow, love your dramatic bedroom - eager to see the 'wife approved' staged layout.

The Maruni chairs are a beauty! Went to Mandarin Gallery yest and am captivated by them. But the price is!!!! The price makes me think that the 10/10 Wishbone chair offer from Space is "affordable" in comparison! (And it's not, not for me anyways...) But they are really nice. I've to agree with hafiizh. Black/dark colours seems to be a step away from the muted Scandinavian look... or have you considered a modern Japanese design? Think will still have the clean lines like the Scandinavian look, but can accommodate bold colours/statement pieces better? E.g. I'll hate to see the open space being divided/cramped with a divider - again seems to me a step back from the bright Scandinavian look. If you choose dark colors for both the dining table and the sofa, I think you may lose the Scandinavian look... Or stick to the muted (gray?) sofa you shared a few posts ago? Just my amateurish 2 cents... Mind sharing where you will get the lights from? I'm also looking for nice (and pocket friendly lights). I like the ones you've featured so far (other than the turkish one lar ). Agree on the pocket busting bit but luckily now got GSS. Ha, I thought of that too, but Sleek shared that her Ikea stuff didn't last long - saggy shelves etc. And my IDs strongly discouraged us from Ikea. But if you do want Ikea, think July have their annual sale right? Yes, lots of pretty pretty things! Actually the discount is quite good lar, just that a 10K chair is still a hefty 6.5K after discount... nice to see n window shop tho.

Hi Tim, just saw your post. Thanks for the offer but I think we probably won't be getting anything major from there... more the decor or accent pieces. SO n I think we have finally found "the" dining table and chairs. Have you been to Style Nordic? 402 Orchard Road, #01-01. If I come across other nice Scandivanian stuff I'll let you know.

This is the limited edition Pink Eames DSR I'm giving up in return for getting my new 'love'.
-
hehe, but seriously if I've a landed apartment I will make sure I get my dream WIW lor. The Heineken ad scream moment kind with nice lamp, glass-topped island display counter n drawers, etc... Sleek, you are so lucky to get such a big WIW! Envy... Still agonising over the VO (variation order). I like many of the IDs' proposals but money-no-enough leh. Sacrifices have to be made lor. Big sigh. More updates on my T-Blog, n yeah I'll move the odour discussion over to my T-Blog when the other stuff are more or less settled k?
-
I think the renovated apartment will look very boring if it just comes like that without any personal touches of my own lor - decorating it will turn it into my 'home' vs a showflat. Plus it makes me smile. Think if I'm going to spend $$$ then it's important to get stuff that will make me happy. I'll sacrifice the limited edition hot pink Eames chair I was eyeing at Xtra and get this lor. So net-net no extra spending... I'm actually quite good leh. I didn't even buy on the spot (enforced cooling off period!). But come home n cannot stop thinking/obsessing about it lor. So tmr SO will drive me back to get it. Hey Sleek, think of it as getting more prep time to get your dream apartment? Plus u can go to so many RT homes to check out ideas for what you think will fit your new place (Maydream's, Ely's, Kobe's, mine, etc, etc). Good rite? But I know what you mean lar. Me too. My IDs told us today the target HO date is 21st August. I can't wait to move in!!!
-
Yeah... agree. LOL, hope Patsy's hb doesn't read RT too.
-
Change of plans... we are now going with mild steel bars cos the cable wire ones are out of budget... now looking at the VO and trying to decide which ones die die must have and which ones I can live without. Super sian. But as you would notice, I'm still shopping. Contradiction right?
-
Went shopping today and am sooooo tempted to get something pictured among here... Argh... think am going to get it. Really bad self control!
-
Thanks ya. We'll await your WC report/update... Think is from Adamas at Balestier. Hey, maybe both of you can buy together? Boyblunder: when do you need your WCs? Or you know your WC size already?
-
Thanks for sharing! Yeah, not sure how long things are supposed to last for nowadays. Am hoping that the price that I'm paying for some of the stuff I've bought/am buying translates into quality, but you never know... Nyatoh wood is supposed to last forever aren't they? Some of my family's 15 yo teak furniture still looks ok even after all these years. Not sure if the Scanteak quality is unchanged tho.
