My FM has advised us to place our bed beside the doorway of the toilet and to put up a full partition to block the toilet doorway - guess that'll do the trick

My budget very low so agree with you that we should concentrate on staff that needs hacking and things that need to be done first like toilet and kitchen cabinet... The rest maybe will buy lor... We thinking of creating a cupboard on the other side of the wall which is in the kitchen (the L-shape part). No choice have to hack storeroom cos our dining table is really so big as in the pic!!! HaHa Also to have more wardrobe for the rooms to store things lor... Any suggestions?

Alrightee!!! Finally, after all the testings, now able to upload my floorplan liao.. Decided to start keeping track of our journey as new home-owners from the beginning. This is the first and only house that we have viewed. After deliberated for only a few hours, we decided to pay the option the very next day to secure the deal This house is in the original condition but I was told that the floor tiles are of good quality and will look nice after polishing so decided to keep the tiles. Will be getting the keys in May and will post the pics of the current condition. Now just started askin for quote... haven't ecide whether to use ID or just contractors... Budget very very tide... Haiz... Do feel free to give me any advice or comments throughout this journey...

Getting my keys next month and need some advise A friend said I should get a few IDs or contractors to view my new home at the same time, is this advisable? Scare they will think I'm not sincere to engage their services and in return don't wanna do my business.. I intend to keep the whole flooring as they are all still nice and should look great after polishing. Will this decision impede the reno process in any way? Also due to very limited resources i.e. $$$ , my mum will be able to get her painter friend to paint the whole flat. How should it be done if I were to engage an Id or contractor only or the below: - Hack storeroom and remove current kitchen cabinet - then the empty floor space without current tiles one how ah? - Full kitchen cabinet with island - 2 bath rooms which have to be fully done and change one of the squat one to sitted one (except for the floorings) - wardrobes for 3 bedrooms - partition outside mbr toilet - all doors, windows and grills I may have left out some nitty-gritty items and pardon me for the layman language as I'm not good with all those "reno jargon" Hope to get some insights here and if anyone and roughly calculate the costs for me, would really appreciate it. We already bought the house and ya lor.. the hdb officer just said it's HDB law!!! Hence, my husband also said no grant no grant lor... he just want to stay near his mother. At least this house is still within our budget and good location.. we really like it too

We were at the first appt when the hdb officer saw my husband's bc and realised that there is no records of the father's particulars. That's when she said cannot give us the grant. She just said it's hdb's law but she can appeal for us, which will definitely cost more time and appts which may prolong our completion date. My husband rejected as he felt that we have not done anything wrong so why should there be an appeal? He also very difficult to take leave too, considering the fact that he would already need to take leave for the new house - renovation and moving in and such. Now he also dun agree to go look for MP.... haiz

I do not understand the rationale here. Is HDB saying that if you have a single parent, you do not need to stay near the parent. You can leave your single parent alone and far away as she was not lawfully married? Is single parent a stigma? A parent is a parent whether lawfully married or not, right? The person who raise and feed and teach us. So why the discrimination?
