  1. I have also signed up with Krono Original to do laminate flooring. There are a lot of different quality ones in the market. As long as yours are not from China, then quality wise should be durable. Malaysia ones are cheaper but quality are also not bad. Probably designs and textures are less nicer than those from Germany.
  2. Hi I want to do a total makeover for my 5-R flat. Its a resale. I have signed up package with Krono Original to do laminate flooring. Have been quoted around $60K (excluding flooring and kitchen/sanitary wares) for the whole renovation. The contractor said $60K is consider cheap for a 5R renovation. Is it true? Is today's renovation really so expensive? Also I thought of doing the co-ordination work myself but other than carpentry works, I am really confused with what jobs belong to which sub-cons. 1) Hack and remove existing fixtures & flooring 2) Rewiring the whole house 3) Changing all the water piping in toilets/kitchen 4) Constuct the ceiling L box and switches 5) Plastering the walls/floor where necessaey 6) Install nex fixtures such as basins, hood/hob, toilet bowls, etc I hope I can get some advices from the experienced people here. It will be useful if someone could share the list of sub-contractors involved in a project.
  3. Hi Did u get urs at the recent luxury living exhibition at EXPO? I was there but didnt noticed Kronotex. I signed up with Krono Original for my whole house except kitchen and toilet too. Expo price is $4.50 for the Castello (AC4) range and $5.50 for the Dream (AC5) and Step (AC4) ranges. The $5.50 ones has the 2 dimensional feel hence more natural. They are launching a new range in larger pieces which cost $7.50.
  4. Hi all I am new to this forum. I have just signed up with The Oriqin Company Pte Ltd to do the Kronos laminates for my whole house yesterday. Just to share with you... When I first visited EXPO on Saturday, I was introduced to this P****a laminates. Went back to do a search from the website and couldn't find any info regarding this laminates. Instead I happened to read a lot from the forums regarding laminates made from the various Asia countries that cost less probably than $3 but was marked at high price to pass off as European products. As hubby and I are quite determine to do laminates, we quickly called the boss to clarify the origin of the laminates. He confidently replied they are from Germany. Okie, we are convinced and rushed down yesterday at 7.15pm, ready to sign with P****a. This time, I entered the other entrance of the exhibition and chanced upon Kronos Original. Stop to take a look at the laminates and we were immediately impressed by the texture and colors. Then this nice sale person standing beside us asked if we need any help. Though time was pressing and we thought probably these are the so-called high end product that is going to go beyond our budget, we still asked for a quick introduction. The first point he brought up immediately impressed us! Each piece of the laminate cames with their own certificate number and maunfactured details printed on the back. He further introduced us their brand's factory and certification from Germany. Unlike the salesperson from P****a, this Kronos rep was very professional in delivering his product knowledge. No hardsell or gimmicks such as showing you the last few invoices or claiming that the prices are increasing, etc. Just a straight forward quote that Castello is $4.50 while classic and floordream is $5.50 at exhibition. Showflat will be $1 more for each range. I was quoted $4.10 for P****a!!! Moreover, the skirting provided by Kronos is the original ones that come in the set while I noted from several forums that usually the skirting provided by other companies are just matching ones that are made in Asia countries and they would need to top up for original ones. We struggled for 2 hours and finally made the decision. I must say the Kronos rep is really very patient as the discussion between hubby and I keep going out of track. By the way, before I leave the hall, I walked pass this Lourve ID and the rep told me I made a good choice! Feel so delighted. Overall, we exceeded our budget for almost $2K but I believe the quality is worth it. If anyone is interested in my Kronos salesperson, do feel free to contact me for his contact. Now I am going to headaches which design to choose from. Any suggestion?
