Hi, do u get alot of scratches from yr black glossy tiles in living room? R they homogeneous tiles? My ID was against the idea of black homo tiles cos he said v difficult to maintain. He proposed grey Matt ones which I hv reservation... Yr Reno looks v classy n WOW too!!!

I felt best way for sound proofing will b doing a double glaze window...However, I heard it will b costly.. I have seen people doing double glaze windows and it totally block out all the noise..Do try and feedback if there are other better alternatives...

Pls do not trust that owners/agents will return you all the keys after they sold the house. Do juz add a padlock or change the lock. My hubby always forgot to lock the door after walking the dog! Hence, I was so mad so he decided/promised to install a digital lock in a few months time after we did our renovAtion...It will auto lock if you forgot... I dun believe that its 100percent safe in singapore. SOmetimes, I reAlised that rude sales person or even newspaper distributor tried to open yr door..It happened to me once or twice...

Then the company exchange the tub..FOC cos saId wat mayb factory default...Nw I dun turn on the ION thing for delicate aNd white clothes... I am throwing tis washer away though its still working...I paid abt $800++ for it last time..I regretted it...

I met the boss( Raymond Seow) once at 7yrs ago when I wanted to minor reno my place. He is a very intelligent designer and can sketch on the spot. I still kept his sketch till now. He was also very humble at that time though he wasnt famous yet. However, he was already very expensive then and we could not afford to hire him. He was very much into retro theme that time.. My hubby remembered him till today. In fact he was the only designer whom my hubby admire. Hubby did ask me to contact him again for my reno this time round but also no reply... Actually kind of know he might b too expensive to engage but still like to see how much he quote also. Let's see if he did reply or not. Pls pm me if you also met some other good designers from his firm. I might consider also....Tks alot..

Hi Idealistic! Tks for yr pm..Yes, I am reading most reno-t-blog here... I think no one will really believe me if I said that I dunno any ID or what contractor in my profession. The truth is I dun even want referral or anything so I dun keep contacts with all these firms. Even my fellow colleagues who worked with some also faced problems..I believe word of mouth and some luck does play a part. When I did my minor reno 7yrs ago, my contractor also introduced by my so call fren in this trade and gave me **** lots of problems...One incident was, I wanted maroon and they painted pink panther pink and told me that catalogue and actual colours differs alot... I was a suspicious and called ICI. Please take note that if you found that the colours differs alot from the catalogue and the wall, ICI can send someone to test the paint! They told me it was FOC at that time. I dunno about it now though. However, my contractors got scared and quickly repainted while before that they kept insisting it was ICI paint and the colour was right till I told them not to argue anymore and wait for the ICI testers... For now, I am thinking to engage ID cos my layout wasnt nice with a odd shape living room. This will b the 2nd reno cos I do not plan to upgrade anymore and my twin boys are in secondary liao so I hope they can have a proper bedroom each. I am still in the process of selecting IDs and getting rather frustrated. I am not as savvy as all of you here so I shall try to blog when I figure out how. My work is piling up also and I am planning to rush for June reno. This might b impossible cos haven even started packing yet. I will b shifting to my mum place to stay during the renovation work is carried out. I hope you will solve yr problems quickly...

Wow! This is my 1st reaction when I see the 3D pics! Frankly, been seeing so many houses all these yrs...(sorry dun wan to disclose my profession yet but definitely not related to interior designs), nvr see so nice houses like Reno-t-blog chat here... Been a silent reader for years...Going to renovate my 5rm flat soon as dun plan to upgrade since my mum stays next blk to me. Still hunting for the right ID firm cos haven meet one with the right chemistry. It can b reAlly frustrating when many calls you and ask for floor plan and did not follow up again. Worst when some just eagerly sent in their quotation. Will b following yr blog cos really love the colour scheme. I have in mind is also the simple white, black, grey and splashes of red! Yrs really nice and thanks to fellow members here that I am really learning alot here...

Reading all these sounds scary... However, I been receiving v eager emails from an ID that I decided to give him a chance to meet him... I dunno now...Having mixed feelings now but shall see how he presents his work 1st... Hope he will not waste my time...

I trying out to meet one of the ID soon cos I like people who got initiative and get back to me fast enough... This shows that they r interested in yr job... I cannt stand many who called n just floor plan..Mine is a resale flat and by seeing floor plan and quoting is not going to help me at all... Keep my fingers crossed and I shall update further. Not disclosing who is the ID yet till I decided to use him...
