  1. No one would have been the wiser had Lim Chai Meng not crashed his Ferrari at Nicoll highway last year.
  2. LG gave 10 years motor warranty. Since Bosch brushless motor is of course, more durable, their warranty must also of course, be longer than 10 years?

  4. Biggest advantage of front loader is that it is gentler on clothes. The washing action is a tumbling one instead of twisting. All that twisting in a top loader stretches fabric. Cotton T-shirts visibly suffer most at the hands of a top loader's agitator. Collars gets stretched, hems get wavy and shirts lose shape.
  5. I think no diff. "Tromm" is the name LG used for their laundry machine range. They have dropped that name. "Inverter" is not saying much as all LG DD motors are of the inverter type.
  6. Steady lah brother. Two posts ago you have trouble grasping the concept of drum speed vs motor speed now you throw words like 'asynchronous' and dazzling us with motor control adspeak. Will there be a lecture coming up Ffoffessor?
  7. Just like your wondertwin, lapena, your powers of deduction matches your consumer reasoning skills. Let's see... cromodora likes the LG WD14331 so he must = LG salesman. (Must be super specialized salesman as they seem to let him only promote one particular LG product and even then he is only promoting this particular washer specifically when it is selling at $900 or below. This must be because the fantastic margins earns him much more than he would have selling Miele. Better ask him got lobang at LG or not. Getting more difficult to promote on snob appeal alone here. People nowsadays research on the net before buying. Not many suckers left in spite of our spamming every thread to get people to buy our German machines. I know this thread is titled "LG or Samsung" but still we must try mah...)
  8. I'm sure the lapena/leafania wondertwins have set prospective LG buyers rethinking again... Hmmm let's see. Buy LG for $800, 2 years general warranty, 10 yrs on motor alone and believe local users like "strata" above and others or.. Buy Miele at $3000, 1, yes only ONE year warranty and pray your experience will not be like that local Miele user. All you have to do is ask yourself..(squint and try to sound like Clint Eastwood when you say this) Do I feel lucky?
  9. Even at $900 I'll join you in the swearing ceremony if the Miele conks out slightly after 1 year like Mr Waleed's.
  10. One more time just for you. LG Wd14331 at $900 is excellent vfm. I never say it is die die the best machine in the world and you should buy it even at $1600. I am not a one brand man like you. My criteria for buying most things is value for money. I want to get the most bang for my buck. Currently for washers that honour goes to the LG WD14331. It is an older model but not obsolete. It still appears in LG Singapore website as a current model. Its features compare favourably even with the latest models of any brand. It has been more than 7 months of happy problem free ownership. Its performance remains stellar. If Miele, any Miele drops to $900. And offer 2 years warranty, I too will say buy Miele. Capisce? Rinse. Repeat if necessary.
  11. OK lapena I'm sold. I bought my WD14331 at abt $900. You sell me a new Miele at 1/3 more than that I will buy it. I'll even round up. Give you $1500. One year warranty also nebbermind.
  12. This is not news to me. I'm sure I came across all that before I bought LG washer. And its not all. Have you read the Australian consumer site as well? They are all part of what I mentioned in the first sentence of post #10 earlier in this thread. I'd be more interested in local LG complaints and warranty issues. Do you know any LG front load washer complaints like the unhappy local Miele owner you highlighted in the Miele thread ?
  13. Is that it? Your groundbreaking expose on LG? Just a class action lawsuit against front loaders in America? Americans site their washers in their basements. Most American use big top loading machines. These don't have door seals and rubber channels needing wipedown. So when they change to front loaders and treat it like a top loader, you get problems. If you don't take precautions such as wiping the seals down or leaving the door open when unused. You will have mould and mildew problem especially in damp environments like basements. Its not an LG only problem. Miele also about to kena. Read here. See you at the Miele sale!
  14. You say Miele grapes good. I see velly expensive. You say dontch worry, velly good quality. But you cannot guarantee Miele grapes sure belly sweet one. I still scared wait expensive but still no good. I look see other grapes lor. I see LG grapes not so expensive and LG give guarantee. I try LG grapes. If sour oso I dontch lose much. Wah, ho say lah, LG grapes cheap and good. I tell people buy at $900 LG grapes mow tat teng. Belly good ballew. But dontch anyhow buy if they sell LG grapes at $1600. Got other better grapes. But Miele grapes... Not easy to find customer comprain Miele grapes sour They belly shy because pay so much oledi Sour oso malu to tell people Must quietly swallow But you yourself show here someone who eat belly sour Miele grape. So expensive, not sweet, got worms some more. So what to say now? Too bad lah he so easy to kena chop. Heeheehee...lucky I run far far
  15. Good God! You may be right! Just look at the title of this thread. All this praise on a brand, it's almost turning into a cult! I'd be wary of the thread starter if I were you. He's not just a salesperson. What's worse is he is a fake salesperson!
  16. Congrats Jane. Its a good looking vfm machine. What was the promo offered? I was looking for the "Ignore user" function which you can find on most boards. Life is too short to entertain trolls and the unhinged. Here's how to tune them out. 1. Click on the poster's nick 2, View member's profile 3. Go down leftmost "Profile" column and click "options" 4, Choose "Ignore User" On the flipside, if you want to reward a poster for a helpful/informative/entertaining post, 1. Click on the poster's nick 2. View member's profile 3. Go down leftmost "Profile" column and click "Rate Me" 4. Give him/her as many patricks* as he/she deserves *Patrick Star - A very smart guy
  17. Posting everything in bold should have sounded the alarm bells. Should have picked up on that earlier. Now where's that ignore list.
  18. Who to trust? Your husband. Aoi's husband or my wife's husband, if you're not married. Buy an LG 14331 at abt $900. Stop hankering after the $3000 German extortion machine that his rational mind knows does not make sense. However don't let him pocket the $2000 difference. Think of creative ways to make hubby spend that difference on you.
  19. Reread. I don't think the blogger is asking for refund of purchase price. Just the repair bill. Even though he bought Miele in Singapore, he can't be a total maroon. Its Miele SG that is giving only 1 year warranty. They do not dare to offer only 1 year to Euro consumers. For a company leveraging on their quality products and priced the way they are, Miele should have been embarassed to send a repair bill. After all it was only 6 months after the warranty period is over and the affected part is not a wear and tear bit. Go ahead guys continue your Miele lovefest. But when you see Mr Waleed, don't tell him... Miele Washing Machines!, Expensive?? probably not..
  20. No duuude..I'm just anti-paying-above- the-odds-then-leaving-myself-exposed-by-a-short-warranty kind a guy. What about you? Are you anti-Miele?
  21. Actually I don't doubt you or the blogger. I also don't normally quote wholesale and then contribute only one line. Your post #57 is groundbreaking. I just don't want post #58 start to sidestep then bury #57.
  22. Did I say you did not like your current LG? Do you actually understand the definition of 'apologist'? What felt like words that I anyhow put into your mouth... ..is actually your foot.
  23. You bought LG but are a Miele apologist? No surprise there. Because the one bit of washing that the Miele can and LG can't do is..... Brainwashing
  24. The hope in your second sentence got no chance as long as the first sentence is true. Read about one of those nevertheless Miele buyers in the Miele thread.
