Hi Petunialee, I stumbled upon your post when looking for a reliable architect/builder. May I have the contact of your architect please? Thank you. (doryps@gmail.com)
Lbox are right-angled "cornices" running along the perimeter of a room, typically with some downlights at regular intervals along the length of it. While the traditional cornices are usually curvy in shape. False ceiling usually refers to a ceiling that is false (typically covering a wider area of your original ceiling). Cove usually refers to ceiling for "recessed lightings", where you see light fitting being concealed with light reflected up to the ceiling. Some terms are interchangeable though, eg. a wider Lbox can incorporate the cove light. Hope this helps. You can probably google for images of them.
Hi, Is it possible to add a toilet to a room of a house? (i.e. constructing an attached toilet to a room)? What are the things to look out for? Thanks.
I saw the contractor screwing the hood onto the back of the wall/cabinet in one of my relative's house before. So maybe he has not tightened it against the wall??
Oh..so that means need to roughen walls. One of my friend told me if hacking then need permit cos noisy...but overlay don't need permit. So does roughening walls need permit?
Thanks.
Hi, am thinking of overlaying my 4-room kitchen & toilet wall/floor tiles.
What type of adhesive will my contractor be using or should I look out for?
Does he need to hack holes in the walls for what he said is "stronger grip" for the tiles? If so, does it require any permit from HDB?
Thanks.
