we use the karcher steam cleaner occasionally (when we do the cleaning ourselves). Good for general cleaning, but definitely not for the removal of hard stains (of course, which detergents are still the best). I use it for mopping of the floor. I like it for convenience, no need to "change water" or "squeeze the mop dry". Never tried target spot cleaning yet. (as demonstrated by the sales promoter)

enuff as we seldom cook, so hardly use 2 burner at the same time. mostly just 1 for maggie mee or steam things to eat. well, dun see why you cannot put the 3 burner if you see a need for it especially if you cook.

mrs Compassvale here - 1-3 aud shd be ok... as long as it's one day leave, i am usually alright.

we renovated in June 06 - can't remember exactly, but i think should be around $120-140? can't remember it's the same or slightly more ex than good quality granite. In terms of resistance to scratches and toughness, granite is a good choice. but we din go for it because of the seamlines for long lengths ( can be minimised by have the seams along the cooktop though) and also we wanted light colours to contrast the dark cabinet colours. Having granite (dark colours mostly) and the dark cabinet will render the kitchen too dark. On the other hand, light cabinets with granite may be nice but that makes marks on the cabinets more obvious and harder to remove can try some other tops like quartz or silestone too, apple jie also think these are the better choices

ours is Corian off-white with little specks so that easier to maintain. On my side, I am not so worried about stains, rather the scratches on the acrylic top. Super duper easy to scratch. But can restore yourself if you are into DIY (with a rotary/orbiter polisher and light abrasive cream/fine sandpaper). But for deeper scratches, need them to come sand to a new finish again. no regrets using off-white

well...ceiling fans are very practical as it can cool the area fast and cheap compared to aircon. but provided if the fans can blend into your decor, or if practicality weighs more than decor. for us, we decided against fans as well. End up using a separate aircon unit for the living/dining area.

I suppose at the end of the day - if we order tinkat, we cannot be choosy over the food (save for special request not to serve some dishes). My main problem is that I have a hb who's choosy with food (eat only some types of veg, dont drink all types of soup, dont eat fish, etc). So usually, I am the one who finishes up most of it and leave him half full !!

Neogarden has trial period i last checked last week - 2 weeks minimum. Check their website. I ordered from Neogardens last year, and another provider this year - in comparison, neogarden's food (also known as best catering) has much larger portions. (2 person share can fill 3 people in my household). And i like the option that they can put their food in microwave plastic containers - makes heating up the food alot faster.

Both toilets in my home has self closing WCs, white, single piece WCs. Cost me $240 each - that was back in late 05/ early 2006. Self closing WC has limited lifespan (i.e. after x times of self close, it will become normal quick close type).
