Hi. I have a very very bad experience with M.D design syndaicate it is run by a designer named Diyana who doesnt have her own renovation company and claimed that she has 17 years experience but i doubt so. Dont take from them because 1) they are not registered under Radac. In fact, silly me only realised that they do not even have hdb license as all their permits submitted to hdb for reno approval are submitted under other contractor names. 2) The lady is very agressive and rude and stubborn. She will never listen to what you want only to what she wants. For example, i told her i cant take too may yellow lights as i will get a headache but she refused to listen and installed almost all of my house with yellow lights. She doesnt even know how to advise properly. She had suggested that we take very bright fushia pink coloured laminates for my daughter's room when we told her we wanted the back of her bed to have golden brown wallpaper with crystals. We told her we dont think it will be nice but she keep persuading us and true enough it wasnt. We had to redo everythinga nd she charged us for it! ALL in all we had 25 defects after she took 2 months ++ to finish our house and was late in hadning it over to us. When we moved in, it wasn't even completed untill 2 days later. Of all the 25 defects, 3 are permanent and she refused to do anything about it. Even when you tell her of the defects she will argue with you giving you lengthy explainations and refused to help you. 3) Worse, when i went to case to complain to her, she ignored case letter and never replied to case but got money collectors and the one she sent is a gangster to threatened us and even coming to our house when she knows we have 3 young kids. This depsite the fact that i have made a police report against her, a magistrate complain and another follow up case complain. 4) She is overpriced and her quotatiosn are never accurate. She doesnt give you prospectus untill you chase her. Mine was given to me to keep when works were nearly completed. She will give you various invoices, all have different quotes for different prices but same item. For example, in first invoice quited me sg4800 for rewiring when there was no wiring done. When i told her this, she quoted same amount under same number but she out there for installation for data points etc.. second example, she quoted sg1200 for mosaic vanity cabinet at toilet. Next invoice same thing but higher price and all these not discussed with you. She just put and then want you to pay. And no dimension given untill last invoice handed to me with a threatening letter 2 months after completion date. But invoice states daye as 20.09.11 but given on 19.11.11 She is also very rude and even screamed at me in front of her workers. She is a night mare designer who thinks she is so good but actually is just pathetic. Even worse, she never even once apologised for anything at all.. too much ego. so pls be warned . do not take this company and designer.
