Hi Soichiro, thanks for the valuable advice. Yes, wife n me also looking at praticality and simple rather than extravangant designs, to us simple is nice ... ... wife n myself are pretty simple people, to be able to own a EM and to have a place of our own is good enough, just need to do a decent simple reno... That's why I'm going to contractor, with wife n myself fishing out ideas from forumers blogs, magazines n internet on what and how we want our house to be... .. so we save cost for an ID Oh 5rm Mansionette !! You got yourself a rare house !! Congrats n feel happy for u !! I don't think there are many around, the only place I know of a 5rm Mansionete is Lor Ah Soo (i spent my teenage years to adulthood in Hougang area), I think there are only 3 blks of walk up... and they are facing landed properties of Charlton Pk... .. I simply love that place, just too bad when we are buying our place, there are no units there for sale... Be sure to post your pics to show us after your reno ok !! Cheers !

Hehe, bro, me too, I also did 1 simple spreadsheet on budget, quotations and estimated damage, so I can plan my miserable bank account properly (account will look worse after paying the COV ) as we do not intend to take up reno loans or anything... so really need to plan properly on the necessary things to do first.... I will follow your t-blog closely and if i'm able to find time for the jurong gathering, i'll join u guys.... Cheers

ermm, IMHO, WIW is only pratical if u have a big space/house, my brother build a WIW in his HDB (cos wife die die want it), hacking a room down to accomodate the WIW, now, both of them regretted, going to dismantle n build back the bedroom for growing up kids.... unless , of cos ,if u have plenty of cash to spare

Dear forumers, I'm thinking of getting a few furniture at Xclusive as the prices there are quite competitive. However, being abit "Kiasu" I'll like to check if anyone have any Good/Bad shopping experience there to share ? Or any comments about their services and quality and delivery ? Hope to gather some feedback before I commit to my purchase. TIA

All the Best to u !! I'm still waiting for my 1st Appt !!!

-
I got quotes ranging from 3k to 5k for timber staircase..., if you're also think of Glass Railings, I got quotes between 5.8k to 7.2k.. .. to revamp the whole staircase itself is close to 10k...

Looking For Potong Pasir
Kobelala replied to mumjas's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
IMHO, price will not drop too significantly, and yes, Yishun is not bad at all, it's the near to AMK n Bishan and have 2 MRT stations there. It's funny the valuation of the flats there remain one of the lowest in Singapore.. ... -
Congrats !! We also OTPed for a EM but are still waiting for our HDB 1st Appt, looking forward to see your before n after pics, is the house in acceptable condition ? or will you be doing an overhaul ??
-
Hi Aron, can you quote me system 3 Sanyo, Fujitsu, Daikin (plus installation). Thanks.
-
Saw 3 different models at Harvey Norman last night, looks very interesting. I intend to get 1 when I move into my recently OTPed resale flat. But other than Harvey, I'm trying to source the fan from other shops to see if I can get a cheaper price.

Hi Chrono, thanks ! I will be doing so... really giving me alot of stress and all... HDB will be sending me a letter of the reason of cancellation (as requested by me yesterday), once I get the letter, I'll write to CEA and the Agency. Dear forumers, I do have PMs asking me about the agent name n agency, I am not disclosing the names n Agency now as I am going to lodge official complaint and take action. (i'm not being selfish but I hope to have your understanding that as I am taking actions, it's best not to name them first) Very sorry, will only let you guys know in due course but I hope eventually to settled everything amicably.

Yes they are really difficult to reach, I left several VM, finally the officer called back. The mistake is due to My Agent submitting a wrong company's name and licence number... Case had been throw out. Will need resubmission and book a new 1st Appt date (can appeal for earlier date but no promises according to HDB Officer) Also, I am binded by OTP now, my hands are tied... Although I still like the house, I really don't feel like talking to my agent now... Can I know what are the things I can do now ?? Will I be compensated if I write into the Agency to complain for loss of time, will they entertain ?? TIA...

Hi May_dream1, yep... that's preciesly why I really think of withdrawing from this purchase... seems the house is not for me.... I'm trying to get hold of the HDB officer, I had managed to get the Seller's agent, from what he understand, our agent had made a mistake in the company's name during submission. I'll be able to understand the full picture once I speak to the HDB officer. Right now feeling **** "sian".... ....

Dear forumers, It's bare;y 5 days to my 1st Appt which my wife and myself look forward to... Today, when I check my "MyHDBpage" as I need to ask the resale officer some questions, I found out that my application was cancel. I called my agent immediately, and was told that they also realised the issue this morning and are doing a re-submission. The reason for cancellation according to my agent is that their Admin made a mistake during submission on the licence or licensee number and particulars. I am really sick, pls refer to my previous thread, I have been encountering delays and issue since OTP, amd now, THIS !!! I am thinking of 2 options now : a) Either they appeal for the same !st Appt date or ; b) I want to cancel the whole transaction and hunt for another house, can experience Bros and Sis advise me what to do, am I allowed to do that (the 5k cheq had not been banked in by Owner as of now - as POA is representing them) I'm sought of lost.... can't really concentrate on my job right now.... really awful feelings... Look forward to your help and advises... .. TIA !

Mattress Atrium - Anyone Have Experience With Them?
Kobelala replied to Cloudy's topic in Home Furnishings
Wow, I'm surprise that you actually created a username and not being apologetic, pushed all blames wholesale to all other avenues but yourself (and your company maybe ??) This shows naviety on your Biz sense and I won't be surprise your shop will close down in no time. Like some members said, customer paid YOU , not your supplier and so customers will come back to YOU when there are delays or quality or other issues... your biz methodology is wrong big time if you still adopt such 1980s attitude.. ... And Bingo, 1 more of your "VICTIM" found out that your beds are Made In Malaysia instead of "australia" or "japan" or whatever country that came to your mind when you're couducting the sales.... I'll like to urge you to be honest and sincere in your Biz dealing, this is the 21st century Singapore, your modus operandi won't last you very long here.... ...
