  1. Seems ok. Except for one of the fan, was a little noisy when installed by the contractor, got the Relite people to come and fix it and it is fine. Sorry, I am not sure whether it is possible to install at the service yard. Brand is Relite. Petite is the model. For black comes in 36" and 48". Bought at Tai Yong Electric at Jalan Besar.
  2. Hmmm, maybe their business too good. For bulbs, generally we will buy extra LED/ Edison bulbs to replace. Many of the free fluorescent bulbs that came with the lights didn't survive the shipping. Yea. We learnt it the hard way Here is the link. http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z09.2.9.13.GJI5xp&id=38272184952&_u=51q6ekj8f555 Overall is good but the fabric is slightly rough if you wear shorts and skin has direct contact to the seat.
  3. Last weekend we changed out the Bennington C600 multipoint instant water heater and replaced it with this Joven 25L storage heater. So glad we did. Water pressure is stronger and larger now. Heat is also consistent. The difference can definitely be felt. However, unlike the C600, this new storage heater is huge and conspicuous. Is the Bennington C600 really that bad? I think the experience is all subjective. Both of us got used to the strong water pressure of storage heater at our previous place before we moved in. So relatively, the instant heater was rather disappointing. And now that we have tried both, we still prefer the powerful shower that this storage heater can provide. More shiok. Just an additional reference for those who are considering between the two types of heater, C600 cannot really support 2 showers at the same time. With our new 25L storage heater, two showers can now be used at the same time.
  4. Oops sorry, tried to cleared some messages Thanks! 112 sqm. I believe it is the normal 5 Rm BTO size. Maybe the camera lens did the trick to make everything look more spacious than it really is. Freelance ID: Interior Kit Contractor: Jake of ZL Construction Both great experience. Entire reno was smooth. ID + Reno was about 48k. Will leave a separate PM for the contacts, Nope. No heat.
  5. Nope we did not buy something like that. But it does look somewhat like the connector we bought for joining 2 tracks (connectors comes in 90 degrees or 180 degrees) "接头" in this same link as the tracks: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z09.2.9.210.DsqQRy&id=19079710705&_u=e1q6ekj899fc The tracks are powered by the linking the wires to the lighting points provided or linking the wires to the conduits that hides the electrical wiring.
  6. So sorry temp2escape, didn't really understand your question. Once the track is connected to the lighting point. LED track lights can be attached to the track. We did not buy anything else for the wiring. Or you are referring to the "driver" in LED lighting? Each LED light already has a driver on its own. Don't need to buy. Unless you are referring to our light testing device below (the plug until the crocodile clips without the track). That is purely for testing, light installation does not require that. From Taobao : http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z2c.6792737.991222533.3.Tu2IDN&id=27470436519&mt=0
  7. It's the most suitable for us. We decided on 7w after testing 3w, 7w and 12w, process posted here and here. Sorry, we are not sure about the angle, we just adjust and rotate each light until we think it is ok.
  8. Nope, not our contractor. We are getting our new heater from Poh Seng, they will send their contact to install at a separate installation fee paid direct to the contact.
  9. Here are some photos of photos with curtains closed or at night. For now, don't have time to retake the photos. So sorry. House is pitch dark when curtains are fully drawn. Light is sufficient for us to work on our laptops at the dining area at night. Good thing about using track lights is you can always add or remove to cater to your own needs. You can use 6 instead of 4 per row if you find our layout too dark. or you can refer to this post for the photos taken at night. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/65217-brick-wall-by-the-floor-5rm-bto-sengkang/?p=882758 Hope this helps. 10. We complained to HDB plumber and he came to take a look, but he can't see anything that might have cause it. We have decided to buy a storage heater instead, still waiting for installation. When we were buying the storage heater at Jalan Besar, the lady at Poh Seng Hardware told us that there were other people using multi-point heater who decided to change to storage heater as well due to same issues. (But we didn't ask if it was Bennington C600) Maybe our case with C600 it one-off or maybe we are got too used to the storage heater at our parents' place. Functionality seems ok. Yes our contractor had to find parts that can fit our bathroom sinks during installation. After using for a few months, I did find the pipes having chemical-ish smell when I open the cabinet.
  11. Yes the middle plank can be removed. The space dimension Length: 56cm Depth: 30cm Height: 32cm Height from floor to the bottom of the hole: approximately 24 cm.
  12. Can't remember the exact. But think my contractor recommended 40 cm from the wall.
  13. 2-3k for aluminum vs 5-6k for mild steel Yes the divisions. our ID suggested the design. We collected reference photos of what we like as well to communicate the vision. For us, the design of the bottom line match the 90cm height dry wall. 2nd part also 90cm. Then the remainder at the top. The width of each section are equal divisions across whole width. We also worked with the aluminium guy through our contractor to discuss the intended design.
  14. No idea if it is magnetic. Never seen it before. Looking back at the choices made, we are glad that we chose aluminium. In our opinion, it still looks great and we are happy with it. It felt good that we didn't spend the additional since the cheaper option is good enough. I think the key here is to make sure the design of the lines are properly planned and not left up to chance.
  15. Half wall height is 90cm. The outer structural aluminium frames that holds the glass are about 7 cm thick. The inner frames - "windows" are about 3 cm thick. We also explored using mild steel which could be thinner but we don't know how it looks like and the quotation for mild steel is more than double the aluminum's, hence the decision to stick with aluminium.
  16. We have similar issues. Must be careful with food with acid as well, the vinegar left a mark which can be seen at an angle as well. We haven't found a way to protect the marble unfortunately.
  17. Don't think Oops have a warehouse, they deliver them after Singapore customs clearance. They will call you about 2-3 days before the actual delivery, will specify morning or afternoon, but not the actual delivery time. Yes, one of us will take leave to receive the goods. Delivery itself is very fast, they load off the packages in your house quickly.
  18. Managed to put up the art prints and assembled the sideboard that we bought from Taobao. Took this opportunity to take some shots. Sideboard from Taobao: http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=15992805496&spm=a1z09.2.9.82.cmytmj&_u=e1q6ekj82696 Review: Solid wood, heavy and sturdy. Only need to screw in the legs. but quite smelly. Wood varnish smell is strong when the cupboard is open. 3 prints from the this Taobao listing: http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=39258532011&spm=a1z09.2.9.73.xbuxkV&_u=e1q6ekj87b88 Quite high quality print. No complains. Round side table from tabao: http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=35677711844&spm=a1z09.2.9.276.xbuxkV&_u=e1q6ekj8a6b2 Sturdy, no issues. Almost 3 months since we moved in. Quite happy with everything except the Bennington C600 instant heater... Need to let the water run in order to get the water warm enough. Temperature is not consistent too. The water will be cold again halfway through the shower. Not sure if other fellow Bennington users are facing the same problem. Contemplating to change it to storage heater. Will storage heater help with the water pressure? Cos the Bennington C600 relies on the inherent water pressure HDB provides and ours is pretty weak. Calling town council didn't help, says it is the max.
  19. Usually I will use google translate to get a first term and slowly copy and paste from the TB search results to get closer to what we are looking for. I gave "白砖" a go, got quite a lot of listing http://s.m.taobao.com/h5?q=白砖&search-bton=&event_submit_do_new_search_auction=1&_input_charset=utf-8&topSearch=1&atype=b&searchfrom=1&action=home%3Aredirect_app_action&from=1&ttid= Hope this is helpful. happy Taobao-ing!
  20. Length is 2.7m at $1.8k. Done by my contractor. We chose the close to white/cream colour and painted white over it.
