  1. Hey, you should also add this to your first post =) As it's quite hard for others to always to find the photos of the completed reno in the whole thread.
  2. eh... wash lower? I dun think so jia lat leh. We hardly need to wipe the surrounding of the sink(less my MBR sink which really need to after my missy wash her face...
  3. Sure no problem. Nope I didn't, the depth of the solid surface are around 63.5cm(sink side) to 62.5cm(hob side). I guess they are right or it's the practice for that kitchen top to have that depth. Well Adidaem share this with me which is helpful. Mixer cost $200+ and yes from SSC HQ.
  4. Thanks thanks. My missy got it from some online website.
  5. Sure, you can contact Douglas Hoh @ 97707370.
  6. Thanks. The depth of the sink is 20cm in the middle and 19cm near the edges. Water don't really splash out unlike the one in my MBR toilet[my missy wash face like to splash water like those on girls do it on advertisement!! (she is hammering me while i type this)]
  7. Lol and thanks alot! Sorry for the delay due to DIY project as mentioned above. The walking space between the sink to cooker/oven is 122cm while the walking space between the fridge to cabinet is 132cm. Kitchen sink is from Ikea and the mixer is from Sim Siang Choon. With regards to the mixer: a. Some ID/contractors have a special price which can help save 5-10% and of course I also let my ID earn abit la to cover his time and petrol by sharing the discount. b. While some shops have fix price to anyone, they will give a certain % of your purchase amount to the ID/contractor(then maybe your ID/contractor can give some back to you if they steady enough la ) c. Some shops give the discount to you directly if not brought by ID. If your ID bring you anywhere to buy anything, he is most likely to earn a cut from your purchase. So speak to your ID so that both parties can save/gain from it.
  8. Well we initially wanted to get the retro white citiz but finally decided to get the special Swiss edition cos it's very unique with the darken black sprout instead of the usual chrome and of course the Swiss monogram. This was taken while renovation was still going on and we found the green mosaic tiles a tad off. I went to the few tile shops along Balastier and there wasn't any suitable. So we bought the white tile paint which cost $80+ for a small tin of paint! . Painting it require some skill as it's very easy to have bubbles appearing on it... I painted it quite thinly thus exposing abit around the green tile but she was doing a much better job than me, so in the midst of the first coat, I handed over 50% of my responsibility to her to carry on with this DIY project and I carry on with other DIY project.
  9. I assume you're referring to the kettle right? Thanks alot =) With the wheel whistle spinning
  10. Strikingreality, this is the parcel we were waiting for. My Missy took this shot which I like it very much. She said must give the due credit when they deserve it. =) Oh and she also painted the default green mosaic tiles to white! Special Swiss Edition Citiz For Hers to drink and for me to make.. Gonna be full time barista liaoz @ home
  11. You're welcome ~~ BTW, get the new tech sponge roller brush if you really intend to DIY.
  12. This toaster have the mid-century look accompany with the somewhat mid modern technology... It only toast ONE side of the bread! O.M.G.. I guess we would not have bought this(online purchase)if we knew about it in the first place.
  13. Isle view of the mini kitchen(as compare to the old HDB flats). Fujioh FX900. Decided on this model after sawing this Great readup on this blog with regards to the issues he faced during installation. http://renovation-greencoal.blogspot.com/search/label/fujioh%20hood Thanks GreenCoal! Don't expect miracles with the Fujioh as oil splatter left right center. The great thing is the 83%+/- oil absorption from the vapour/smoke. Rib-eye, pasta and portebello This cute little chicken kettle is loud!!
  14. We went to places from Hoe Kee(HQ), Geylang Lor 4x to Balastier and Sim Siang Choon(HQ) but couldn't find a suitable sink... Real please with the sink and the rack comes with it! Missy just told me we bought it separately.. Damm, I'm getting old..
  15. Finally and sorry for the long wait. View from the living room. Love the wide fridge with the H2O dispenser c",) Something's happening. I'm not the Jedi I should be. I want more. And I know I shouldn't...
  16. Hope this helps and yes there is green chalkboard paint.
  17. No problem c",) Well, there are a few of our friends who prefer green over black. So it's a personal preference. Green gives a more classroom feel for those who remember our school days but we find green a tad off in our pad.
  18. Hi JX83, you're making me confuse.. Real brick but not the original size? Is yours from craftstone and about 10mm thickness? Rough estimate is between mid to high 20s. Ceiling in our opinion abit ex after knowing the price of the wood verneer but we know that they absorb alot after a major change due to the design. It depends on how big you wanna do also.
  19. lol thanks thanks ps if I didn't phrase it properly. My ID got me the green chalkboard as a stand in first, he knows we want a black chalkboard, so he had tried sourcing sungei something(near Mandai) and even JB. In the end also cannot find, so he told me if I can ever find, he will pay me back. So I found the black chalkboard paint and DIY. Green(default) chalkboard from ID. Black chalkboard paint from me. I would repaint it with metallic paint if I ever chance upon it locally and repaint the black chalkboard paint.
  20. Hi SgSam, congratulations! Well he shared it with me on his iphone or ipad. We actually choose Douglas as he is more responsive as compared to the others that we had sourced for quotations. Spent so much time talking to the "ID" but no reply!!! !@#$%^ So why bother chase them for the quote if they not interested in replying you. Try to catch those small tell tale signs if you find them fakie or insincere. In the beginning, we were lost like most couples are as we have no direction as we have not much idea on the themes "available" out there. Just last weekend, they had fix one of the lighting holder at the bar counter as it was not aligned/squared with the rectangle frame. If you ask why now then fix, he explained to me he was shifting his carpenter workshop and we were also not rushing him in to repair it. Any issue with carpentry/etc, you can go through him and he will definitely help you solved it, either with or without $$ top up, depending whether was the issue due to change/s we requested for (which was not in the plan), if haven't fix up, we can still quickly request to change the plan. If they have excess spare material or make wrongly, sure will give free! If it's their fault that they didn't follow the plan, they will change it for us like the shoe rack spacing and angle(change twice liao) and the bookshelvf in my MBR. The first design doesn't have the middle wood to divide the internal shoe rack into two column. The second design had the angled shelves being place from corner to corner diagonally in each rectangle. Thus the tip of the shoe can't be squeeze in.... Finally the third as you can see below is after they re-cut the wood and adjusted the angle, the shoe can fit in swee swee We wanted one without the middle support and they had made it with the middle support(more practical to prevent it from slacking in the middle). Of course they will ask us if we could accept it but we feel it would be best not to have it for the looks(So far so good, its not slacking!) Then the former bookshelf is @ his place now. Thanks Douglas! The shelf without the wood support in the middle. I had asked Douglas what kind/type of clients are you afraid off? He mentioned that he is afraid of those customers that confirm with the design and when the things are being fabricated, they say that, that's not the things they want or even claim that it"s different from what they think but design and drawing already shown.. lol Some customer don;t really want to seodn time with ID or contractor to go through the drawing themselves.. I feel that you need to work closely with your ID and also you have to be checking the renovation progress personally so as to have things corrected asap and not at the end. S Actually we had made quite alot of changes along the way... Well of course there are others that totally wanna let their ID run the show as they feel they paid for their service. For Douglas he would come to look for me near my working place to consult for my preference or explain the major issues. Workmanship wise I find can be improve abit more on the final touches. ID service 9.5/10 Workmanship 9/10
  21. I read also I damm dulan! With his snobbish attitude and bulletproof skin... I guess its hard for ya to "swallow it down".. Since we are already sharing our ideas and problems we had faced. I hope others would chance upon this so that they can learn by avoiding those issues and that it is very naughty to go other peoples' place without seeking permission. Guess a good lesson for future homeowners is to get their ID to inform all carpenter/tiler/electrician/worker not to let anyone else in. Maybe can ask them to shout at anyone intending to come into the house > HALT!!! Rifle over head! What is the Password!?!?! But then, some carpenters are the culprits who brought people into their client's place to showcase their work/workmanship for their own gain... Cheer up, at least he got taste to copy yours! :jammin:lol
  22. Hi Techaview, I have no idea as it was my ID who had got the green chalkboard, then I had it painted. I know ikea is selling it but smaller.
  23. Wah nice guesses but nope. Should be soon c",)
  24. lol Brought over as requested =) DAMM!! That is outright outrageous!! Some ppl just store the brain in the freezer and resort to low and sly means... He should at least ask for your permission. My carpenter also did the same thing! He let someone from my estate in Jade Spring into my place without seeking our permission.... I later told my ID about it. At least my ID ask me if its alright that he can bring some ppl for viewing. Also it leads to my next question, How did you found out!?!? Did he also posted in this forum? @@ BTW I just notice the Vivenne Tam HP netbook!
