normally contractors and IDs will give quotations within 2 weeks. lf it is about one month or more you can forget about it. no point to push them for quotation.

when kitchen wc required to change floor tiles will be affected. so in order to save up dont touch the common toilet first. save up then go for a mini renovation.

dont overlay new wall tiles on the existing old wall tiles. waste a lot of money. if overlay the new wall tiles over the existing wall tiles the thickness of the wall will be bigger. therefore your new kitchen cabinet will be smaller. even a few centimeters will have a big difference. if will be good to hack the wall tiles area and make good. then make ur new kitchen cabinet. you will have a slightly more space and u will save ur costing too. i think that your contractors or ID dont want to give you this idea. if is floor tiles check the condition of ur existing tiles. prevent any hollow sound if you want to overlay the tiles. but still would be good to hack and make new tiles. just to let u know that if either you are overlay the tiles or make new tiles please check for the hollow tiles again. nothing is 100% perfect so we need to becareful

yes it sure is. Some even will dig a large profit. But still it depends on individual IDs. Most ID are work within a recognise dealer. Therefore if the staff resign or quit others staff still can carry on ur project. Likewise if any hippcups along the way and you had feel very unpleasant you may seek from the higher management within the company. But you must be firm on what are the things had happen. Contractors some are a bit like mobile. They can shift here and there if it is a small scale company. So if any thing happen they can just shift to another location and can even change company name. Both are a risk. Is just depends how the owner want to take which risk. Furthermore as a consumer whichever we choose we are still on the losing side.

It depends on what good quality u want to do a renovation. Price varies. For ID if there is any problem u may ask ur ID to settle it. You as a owner dont need to do too much things. Just ensure ur final inspection output went well. By still service will be charge a little more. For contractor it depends on how good both contractor and owner's conversation. Some contractors dont mind to help up for free!!! but some well charges will be an additional bill. Meaning add more $$$ during ur renovation.

Each have their pro and cons. Still quality and service plays a part.
