  1. I got mention as above on the lighting part. For advise would be 2K. Things keep increasing but no salary. sigh~~ During renovation period there are a few things need cash - 1) Kitchen - hob and hood - kitchen basin - tap - fridge ( check the measurement first then ask ur ID/contractor to do the measurement, if you want to do base for your fridge. ) - washing machine and dryer (if needed) ( check the measurement first then ask ur ID/contractor to do the measurement, if you want to do base for your washer and dryer. ) 2) Air-con ( must know what system and how many compressor you want. Eg . system 4 for all the rooms and one for the living room) Others like living room and bedroom all depends on the design which you liase with your ID/contractor. Do remember that if anything which is required to build then you need to get it first.
  2. it depends on the compressor what BTU is it. Example: Compressor 34000 BTU Air-con : 9000 BTU each. If 4 air-con all on then will be 36000BTU exceed 2000 BTU. Still it will still able to cool down the entire area. But it takes a longer period of time. Not to forget if the owner is a heavy user, maintance of the air-con is required.
  3. yes. being it any sport, we will never know what will happen in the next minute.
  4. mstan, try to give her more encouragement rather then wack her. It take a pair of hands to clap.
  5. inregardless mother or mother in law there is only one. as for me i respect both of them, when they nag and nag, i will ask what happen? When there is a problem there will be a solution. Show more concern rather then hide away or push your partner to cover you. Like mine parents in law, i respect them and when they got problems i will tried to solve. This goes to mine parents too. Knowing that they like to nag still think of how they took care of me when i was a baby. All the hardships and effort they put in. Become a father hood now i learn to be more understanding and how they feel then they took care of me when i was young.

What if required hot? you are installing water heater or storage tank for the whole unit?
  8. from the looks of it, definately the fault comes from the person whom install your air-con piping. Call the manager or anyone who can make decision.
  9. one water heater is only link to one switch. unless there is a two way switch or the owner request which switch for on and off before install. normally it will be install in the common toilet. if as wat you had mention the only switch is in the living room then where will the storage heater will be installed?
  10. Centralise water heater maybe a good choice, unless you want all ur house to have warm water. Eg. kitchen tap, washing machine and both toilets basin taps. But you need to know how much usage on your family and you then you can decide the size of the tank. If usage is a lot would be good to on whole day then switch off in the night time. Agree on what dankoo type. More copper or stainless steel pipes will be required.
  11. for mine need pacifier when going to sleep too. But when he in deep sleep the pacifier will drop out.

DIY air-con it can be done, still there a lot of things need to take note especailly the inlet and outlet. If the flow is not smooth then many problems will occur. Also need to know the shortest path of your pipings cover. How to run and where to run in order to have less visable piping as possible then you will need to know what will be the grade of copper pipes, thickness of the pipings and what the width of your piping cover required. Duie to different combination of air-con have their own standards.

it is possible to change the pipings and replace the old ones. It will be more expensive. Still no harm asking as it will lower ur cost as you had already got a brand new compressor and air-con.

For maintainence wise dont need to be like once a month. Maybe about 6 months once in order to ensure a smooth flow of the inlet and outlet. So your room will be much cooler. gosh. since you already had mention on the "fungus" guess the piping start to have condensation already. So would be good to change all. Stil if your air-con pipings in being cover then yes have no choice but have to tear the portion which had pipings out.
  15. What a great and nice renovation that had done on your kitchen. Still just a advise hope no offence to you. Your kitchen basin is very near to the rear of your washing machine so there will bond to have some water or other food stuff might spill on it which sometimes un-notice. And cable wire of the washing machine is facing to the sink area. Therefore a bit dangerous. This is how i feel. Hope it wont do any offence to you. To me is safetly come first for all the bros and sis here.
  16. your situation is about the same as mine. I went up several times and they almost want to fight it out. Make me very pissed off and shout at them to come out and settle no point sending behind the gates and say want to pick a fight. All i can say that they only know how to talk loud, action small. PUI... for the first fews days they are ok then several days later back to normal again. I cant say all china people are like that but just one or two of this type of people is enough. Sooner or later TC people will talk to them if they continue all this nonsense.

orca, after reading from the post. you state that you had change a new air-con but are all the pipings changed at that point of time? Also by just changing the air-con and the compressor it wont help. If you mention that the air-con didnt provide you cool air. For the past 7 years have the air-con undergo any maintainces? Changing the entire air-con and pipings wont cost you a bomb. Depends on the brand and type of air-con you are getting. Do take note on the "ticks" on energy savings. Every cents worth.
  18. go to the any mega store and see for yourself. at least u will be able to see and have a feel on it. the sound, the pixels everything.
  19. well if both parties agree that will make the things smooth.
  20. agree with bepgof. install mirror at such werid place. You ID must have "great ideas". ask him better to go around and gain more experience.
  21. If you are doing quite a bit on fixtures then will be more expensive due to it is make to measure. also set aside ur about 2K for your lightings, lighting point, cable point (if need to shift) and wiring.
  22. i assume that ur balcony area (no windows) to living room area there will be a sliding door right? Due to from the balcony to living room there is sure to have a curp (what is the height difference i am not sure). It the tiles is overlay, will the tiles be higher then the opening of the sliding door? If yes, then safety come first. nobody can predict despite a small difference of height between the living room tiles and balcony tiles. Unless the ID / contractor of yours will ensure the smooth walkway from living to balcony. Also not sure wherethe what is the width from ur balcony to the living room, so need to take note on heavy rain too. Due to if the balcony tiles is higher then living room, ID / contractors will need to ensure on the smoothness of the tiles on one side which is from living room to walkway so there will be a slightly downslope towards living room area. Therefore when encounter heavy rain for a few hours, rain water will start to pour in slightly. Knowing that the door is close but nobody will know what will happen. Hope you understand what i type. Still decision lies on you. I just let you know what are the things need to take note of.
