U menthe mr lim that is appointed by hdb, there's a big piece of paper above the lift is it? My ID didn't mentioned anything about this, so I don't intend to ask him. Maybe my ID will clear himself. Yes, the trunking is run through the exterior wall into the MBR intend of the toilet.

Hi Glymaxx, Thanks for sharing ur product with me. Can you tell me what is the spec of ur solar film (base on those number that I post). and which are the project that u have do in sg (resident or commercial) I believe the people in this forum will be interested to know. Can you PM the estimated price for my 4-room house (living and 3 rooms). The floor plan can be found in my T-Blog. How to hear from u soon.

Bro, Do u have a pic of the PD door? I never knew they ve tempered glass for the panel. I probably install in a later date, cause spend too much $$$ Liao... Need to spread the purchase, if not will die.

It's only 6am and you are up posting, that's early. I ve encounter some ID that said need to hack the whole wall then rebuild (said is hdb rules) but some said don't have to. I think by hacking full it's easier for them I gues and they can charge addition amount to rebuild the half wall (about $400 and above). I got a quote from another ID and his price to hack hack wall is only 400 but to make good additional 350 so if u do ur math, the sum is higher, this are all they tricks to enough additional $$. I never heard there's a guy who is from hdb that do the hacking, most of the time should by their own contractor. For me I only hack half kitchen wall and make good for 550 and for my wall between the MBR n room2 is full wall n make good for 450. Additional $500 for PE fee. Initially, my ID thought don't have to pay PE fee cause him did for some sengkang unit which don't require PE but surprising fernvale need. Maybe hdb want to earn $$.

PB door is always a good idea if space is limited. I think it will go every well for toilet, store room door or even service yard. As I only know PD door as quite a few design but most or all are not transparent as it suppose to prevent ppl from seeing through. So not not too sure it will be a good idea for ur kitchen door, am afraid it will make ur kitchen look like a box and will look dark. Or maybe the design you choose is glass panel which u are able to see through the maybe it will be ok. By the way, how much did uget ur PD door and where? Am thinking of changing my MBR toilet door cause I feel the stupid wooden door is too big and troublesome. Or maybe u wan to consider using glass slide or swing door. As ur fridge is on the right, maybe u can make ur swing door swing toward the left, this way, the door won't hit the fridge base and u can keep the door open. Provided on ur left, is only cabinet at least u can keep the door open and close if u need to take things from the cabinet. This is just my thought. It's still up to you.

Hi there, I intend to stick window film for my 4-Room house, not too sure which is better and whats the estimated cost? I hear from one of the supplier that HDB had just sent out an email stating that they dont allow solar film from June '11 onwards. As anyone heard of this? Does anyone know what is the reasonable/acceptable spec we need to consider when selecting the film? I come across this solar film, do advise which is better?

Was shopping for curtain for the past few days, met up with 2 different curtain makers that was recommended by the forum and both price are very similar (day&nite for Living and MBR, Roller for both common room) Today decide to head down to MGL. was pretty impress by the number of materials they have in the store (like more then over few hundreds). I was service by Joey, and we found her very patient and fully capable in recommending different curtains (like how to match. we are quite picky on the materials and color, but joey never stop bringing out different stalk of materials for us to choose. after nearly 2.5 hr we finally decide to purchase with her. Day & Nite curtain for both Living n MBR. Normal curtain for both common room. below are the color we choose, ut i forget to take pic of my daughter's room. MBR Living

Hi Limhcsimon, the W/H and dryer cost $898 (after GST) include wall mount for the dryer, extend pipe, meter, and install W/H for free. then there's additional charges of $100 to connect the pipe to cooker and $100 to connect/install the dryer (this amount is charge to the utility bill) If you like to know more, probably you can visit their branch at HDB. The aunty there is very nice and will explain in full details to you.

Yes the yellow connector. All the running of the gas pipe will be done by city gas, so u need to contact them to arrange for them to run the pipe for u. I believe ur ID doesn't have the license to do that. So the pipe will run straight from the top through the wall (which is beside the kitchen window) out to the yard and all the way to the other side. Don't think it's a good idea to run through the window it will be very ugly. So the city gas guy will hack a small hole then ur ID will help u patch it back. The photo that u mentioned is DKWM layout not mine. My initial plan was also to put the fridge base there beside the big pillar. But if u put a swing door there and ur fridge base is too big it will definitely hit it. So 5 options to solve this problem. 1. Get a small fridge (which most ppl won't) 2. Shift ur fridge far to the left and build a small top unit btw the fridge n pillar 3. Don't put any swing door 4. Make ur swing door smaller (means small walk through) 5. Use sliding door instead (slide the door to the left instead of right) that's what I did.

Good question, think I need to measure first.. But you can tell ur ID base on the normal kitchen cabinet height , you leave about 1 or 1 1/2 wall title away from the cabinet top. This way at least when u place thing on the cabinet top it's not visible from outside. My glass won't be full height, there will be a box down coming down from the top. Because if u gg to put swing or sliding door for the kitchen entrance, the door will be too big. So they will definitely do a box up or glass panel to low the height of the kitchen entrance. Hope that's help

Aircon pipe in BR2 Aircon pipe in BR1 Aircon pipe in MBR Does anyone experience this? all the insulation are joint together with black tape. Is this the correct way to be done? if you notice (left pic, top insulation), there's some torn in the insulator dont know if it will affect anything but will definitely get them to change.

Some updates on my reno electical work in the Living room electical work in the Kitchen electical work in MBR
-
Hi Asheley, I believe you can either run inside the kitchen or outside from the service yard to the left of the kitchen. you can choose to box up if you think is ugly. but my suggestion is if you are running the pipe from the service yard to the other side, maybe u can consider not to box up (save some $$). Anyway, if you are using a central heater from city gas, all the copper pipe will also be expose, and it also not visible to others provided they go to ur service yard la. So which blk are you at?

Woah, two mei mei how come he never bring along with him when i meet up with him.. hahaha... must question him. Sure no problem, but for now only my floor, aircon pipe and electical wiring is job. so not too sure what you wan to see

I'm like u too, went to see a find ID completed project, overall it look good but if u look closer the small defect can be seen. I too very particular with workmanship, and I visited one of the completed project done by him. And am keep happy with the finishing, the best thing was the owner and his wife booth are my wife poly school mates. So at least I get true feedback from them....hehehe I did see ur floor plan, it's quite odd in a way. Has Johnson proposal his design to u yet? So far into my Reno, the quality is still very good. Will update on my carpentry and false ceiling probably next week. He has two other young ID with him? I only know that he as one which is Sky (a bit of the ah beng type, but he is quite ok in person). So whois the other guy?
-
Bro, Ur Reno is **** fast. Comparing u just started last week. Keep it coming.
-
I think Johnson is a very patient person, he will listen and advise you if your idea is pratical rather then beautiful and waste $$. For me, both my wife n myself feel comfortable and save with him as our ID. But recently he is very busy, he told me a lot of people from forum meet up with him for discussion. It's very difficult to compare quotation as everyone as their own ideas for their house. I won't say his price is the cheapest but also not the worst, although we sign on our agreement base on the price quoted, but along the way I make very changes like adding this and that. My price still remain the same but if too major changes then he will have to add on the different. As stated in my post, it is already close to 45k and above. I saw on ur post that you have already started ur Reno. So u engage him as well? Where is ur area? Did u mentioned to him about me?
-
No... Can ihave the address. Maybe I will drop by tmr. I was at excel this morning, their price are quite reasonable. Might got some put out rack from them.
