Well, u need to comply a couple of things prior to letting u purchase: 1) to move out the fire-rated door next to the fire rated wall 2) to construct fire-rated wall(abt 1m? not too sure) 3) Gas meter according to HDB needs to move inside your kitchen if yours is a point blk but according to CityGas, there's no need. HDB said they're still checking with the relevant authorities(ie. SCDF) to confirm on the gas meter. Here's the directive from SCDF wrt gater meter location: http://www.citygas.com.sg/pdf/SCDF_Circular_on_Relocation_of_Gas_Meter_and_Pipe.pdf If you're to look carefully, it appears that those who use wronght iron gate to fend up their recess might need to construct fire-rated wall and relocate their fire rated main door out.

Received a letter from HDB on the recess area. The new regulation now is to relocate the gas meter within the kitchen area. Have anybody received letter from HDB on their application to purchase recess area?

Tks. I just called up Brandt technical support and was told that the 16Amp was actually 15Amp since there's no 15Amp socket used in Europe. True?

Folks, Anybody use 15amp plug for a 16amp oven? For eg: Brandt Ovens come with 16Amp. thks.

Hi all, I'm planning to get Brandt Oven as well. Based on the above advice, does that means that i can simply use a 15amp plug for a 16amp oven? Thks.

Folks, I just came back from HDB brand office. I was told that there's an island wide review on the sale of recess area. All existing and new applications are pending for this review. In other words, they might stop the sale of recess area totally in view of lift upgrading and other concerns. Have anyone talked to HDB brand office lately concerning recess area? Thks.

Any Suggestion For Skirting For Marble Flooring?
steveong replied to steveong's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
Thanks Bro. I was thinking of that this morning -
Folks. as certain portion of skirting for my resale flat is pretty 'jialat', i was thinking of hacking all of them(skirting) and replace with Parquet or another other material that's closed to the existing marble flooring. TIA for sharing.

Gd morning Folks, Anyone using engineered woods for living or bedroom? Any difference between these 2? I heard the cost of engineered woods is cheaper than laminate flooring. True?

Thanks for the advice. It's true that the heat will come straight from the front but I was told that the overall cabinet will still be hot and in due time all the accumulation of heat will cause the exterior of the cabinet to decay prematurely THus i was thinking to put stainless steel panel to cover the inner part of the cabinet as a form of dissipating the heat.
-
Folks, any advice how to construct the cabinet to withstand the heat from built in oven? Will stainless steel panel on the 4-side of the wall(top, back, left & right helps? I heard the heat emitted from such oven will cause your cabinet to fade earlier especially white color cabinet which can become yellowish less than a yr if you're a heavy user. Also, I believe the heat will spoil things stored in the nearby cabinet. Can anyone enlighten me. Thks.
