Ending out Bishan 4A journey and starting a new Bishan 3Gen journey! Quick recap; when we bought our 4A, there were only 2 of us. Now we are a family of 6 😁😁. 2021 we bought a 3Gen flat with 1742sqft. The kids are growing and need their own space. Will get key only Jan 2022. Watch out for new before / after photos.

It’s 2021 and it’s time to say goodbye to this lovely place. To the next owner, enjoy this unit! I will be moving to a nearby block so I’ll see you around at the market or kopitiam! Ciao!!

Ideas To Make Living Ro More Windy
Et209 replied to Et209's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
Good idea! Maybe I can try that! Thx! -
Need help. Seems like based on my Hdb block facing; wind comes in from the main front door. We like to leave the door open as it is windy. Closing the main door gives us more privacy but make the whole house stuffy. We had block up the air vents above the main door. Question; any way to mod the main door? Does unblocking the vents help? Any other solutions other than installing more fans and Aircon?

It's glossy; like there's a gloss laminate; however, it's not "mirror" effect. The pictures are actually quite accurate.

Hi renotm, any updates?

Sorry, lafamilia I lost ah bu's contact... Just FYI, there is no flaking or peeling. Seems like epoxy painting works; so far at least.

Finally got my carpenter friend to do up the cupboards before the holidays. I have also rearranged the bed to face the window. I tried the 45 degree thing but I end up looking at the corner of both walls.. Not very comfortable. Ultimately bedroom still not complete but on the way.

Very interesting! Maybe I will go back and relook at it again.

Do you mean like this? Don't know leh.Ni have explored doing the wardrobe against the "bathroom" wall. But can't. That wall is approx. 1500mm and you will need walking space. Placing the wardrobe beside the door is the best. There is another option which is to hack the wall between the 2 bedrooms and make the other room smaller or to shift the masterbedroom door which I have explored.

All I can say is: WOW!! I like the overall theme. Very homely and looks very comfortable too!! The well balanced used of plants and furniture; the patio looks gr8; like a place I can hangout for hours!! And the use of wooden pillars.. Very nice! Were those laminates or real wood? Also the before and after pictures were fantastic!

Version5: hack into the other room to creat space for a wardrobe. The allows the master to look bigger. Bad is that it may feel dark for the one sleeping on the left.
-
Actually I prefer version 2. Heehee.. I like the space... Space between bed n lower wall in version 1 is about 450mm. Should be enough tO walk through. Most important is the six of the bed u buy. I am assuming u r getting a queen. Dont get those that is bulky. Get the frameless type so u just make a headboard. Version 3 I like but must know how to decor the dressing table behind. I will try to post other 3d later. Actually there is a version 5. I will show u later.

Talking about how to layout the master, here's a few suggestions: Version1 Version2 Version3 Version4: require hacking a bit into the toilet. Any comments?
-
Hi. You are rite. The LO of the master is tough. There are a couple of options; I will draw out n show u. Basically max is queen size. However if u r willing to do more hacking, U can create quite a lot of options. Mine the the top floor; The height of the flat is 2.8m approx. So the windows are really long; which is what I like about this unit. I guess using a ladder is the best way to clean the windows. We are quite lazy people so we hardly climb n the windows looks acceptable anyway. Haha...

I got the same rain shower set n water tank combination and from the same shop too! Wow! Coincident!
-
Pardon the dusty shower mixer. Just wanna show the tap head! Can swirl to left or right! Heehee. So rain shower has 3 functions; rainshower, tap, and flexi showerhead.

Master bathroom part 2: After painting, I m installing a rain shower; since so many of you have one! Heehee. First bought stainless steel piping n brackets n misc stuff; total $80. Piping is $11 per 20 ft. The shops will cut to size for you. Next bought rain shower set n 15l champs heater tank; since only for master. Cost $175. Next rain shower comes with mixer n also tap at the bottom. Neat thing is the tap heat can swirl. Cost only $320!! Onimi model 5519. Handyman Abu fixed up the piping. Then we noticed piping coming from top to mixer are parallel with rain shower; not nice; so we improvised! Installed 2 aluminum boxes beside the 2 pipes, making sure the distance is 30 cm. Then I bought nice tiles and covered up the pipes to create a feature behind the rain shower. This is what we ended up!! Cost of tiles $25 for 3 pcs of 30x60. Aluminum boxes, 6ftx1inchx2inches n stainless steel screws n misc $30. a nice shower feature: priceless!!
