Time to post some pictures of the finished products, y'all. Kitchen first Living Room

Been awhile since I updated this t-blog. mainly due to work commitment. Was away for a week so unable to load pics and progress. Anyway, here's the update. TV set mounted, sofa delivered, dining table shipment delayed. Things to rectify : Tit-tat door for bomb shelter. Trying and trying to get it align with the rest of the feature wall but still unable to do so. Some chips on veneer door and carpentries. Small chip on partition to kitchen. Some soft closing not acting as soft closing. Have to change. Next week, wifey not ard for 2 wks. Taken leave to clean and tidy so that she will come back to a kilat kilat home. Hopefully things will go smoothly. Still need to mount curtain rods and curtains, dressing table and mirrors. Wish me luck y'all Cheers

Painting was done but not a very good job. Metal gate didn't do up nicely and they actually locked the gate with padlock!! imagine the abrasion and not to forget the thumbprint the workers left behind after it's completed!...... Haiz........ Plumbing was good. All accessories was installed at the exact location that I want them to be. Good job! Electrician came and able to do up all the power points before the painting commence. Good job!! Only one carpenter came to install the broken door panels and soft closing. Able to nego with him and the boss to replace the tic-tat door due to the uneven-ness and misaligned laminate. Felt the fellow was nice and able to accept the criticism and dismantled the door to ratify the problem back at his factory / workshop. Glass partition was wrong. Stated frosted glass finish in contract and came a piece of clear glass!! Then tried to smoke through saying the frosted effect is actually a piece of adhesive paper that will be pasted on top. Called up ID and told him to replace the glass as I'm not going to accept this kind of promise. Tiler suppose to come and patch up all the grouts but have no idea if he came as it was getting late and no news from ID. TV came as well but due to the painting, unable to lock it up. Ended up have to carry back to in-laws place to keep first. Best part. All the rubbish are still outside when I went back around 6pm. Think all the workers are trying to wait for someone to react so that they don't need to do it. Haiz..... being the itchy hands, think will clear myself tomorrow when I go up. Out os so many jobs today, only two out of five. Fantastic?!?!!?!?!?!?! Sometimes wonder if referral is really a good thing like mentioned in the forum. Ended up getting frustrated and pissed off at times. Don't think I should be in such a situation when I pay to get things done. Haiz......... think dependent on myself to get things done is better.

No problem kayden, that's wat this forum is promoting. In fact, most of the information is extracted from this very forum. Just hope these information can help the rest in the forum. Totally loves the process besides dealing between wifey n ID. Can be very troublesome and difficult at times. But oh well, it's almost completed and awaiting for handing over.

Tml morning will be a mad rush of touch up and misc. outstanding jobs. First, electrician have to come and fix up all the loose wirings in kitchen, living and WIW. Tiler to come and patch up all the grouts. Then the glass partition installer must come and install before the painter can commence on the final coat. Then the carpenters have to fix back the broken doors, soft closings, clean-up and finally the plumber to connect back the sink and to install all bathroom accessories........ Mad mad rush......... can finish in time??? We shall wait and see....... Cheers

Do remember to go during the weekends for Brilliant Source and weekdays for Pan Tech as the lady boss n boss of Brilliant will only be in the shop after 6pm and the assistant in the shop dun really know what's going on. Pan Tech (Jurong East) during the weekdays is more quiet so easier to talk and nego with the PIC. Cheers

The one opposite Guan Hoe Soon is Brilliant Source LIghtings. I also bought from them and just got installation today. Boss and lady boss very friendly and patient. Good service! The other one you can try is Pan Tech. I like the PIC, a bald guy which take his time to explain the product that I will be buying to me. Good also. Bought 2 lighting from him too. Cheers

Time for an update on the progress. Last Saturday carpenters went up to install the wooden base for the solid top. Basin and glass hob installed. Now waiting for the solid top to be installed this coming Thursday or Friday. Then came Monday where my electrician did the rest of the outstanding work such as toilet tap installation, Opennet trunking and air-con servicing. Today is where the installation of lightings (Kudos to Mr Kuah from Brillant Source and Mr Toh from Pan Tech. Very professional and friendly during the installation and changing of damaged items. Definitely will recommend them to others) and all carpentries. Last check saw the shoe cabinet, feature wall, kitchen and common room slowly taking its form and place in the new place. Will be bringing wifey down later to take a look and wait for her satisfied look on her face. Photos will be uploaded later at night. The rest of the work will be done up by the end of the week and final coat and cleaning will be done this saturday. Just hope nothing will go wrong from now til completion. Can't Hardly Wait!!!!!! Cheers!!!

Finally confirmed on the lightings and which shop to purchase from. Purchased Living and Relax corner lightings from Pan Tech (JE) and will be getting the rest such as MBR, WIW, Kitchen and Dining from Brillant Lightings. All using energy saving warm lightbulb except Kitchen and WIW. Then this sat will be going down to IKEA to get the accessories hanger with wifey plus the new padlock and door handle for the metal gate and main door. Any recommendation on cheap vendors for the two items? Heard from Mr Loh of Shanghai Tong Lee that Duro padlock can be vandalised and open quite easily. Can anyone verify this? Abit scared liao. TIA!!! Cheers

Took wifey to go see the place after painting and the second final discussion on the lighting points and the number of lights. Place is already completed with the second coat. Now awaiting for the laminated flooring installation this wednesday.. WooHoo!!!!!! Then hopefully, the carpentries can be done up this coming Friday n Saturday...... then can take more pics to show u all.....heeheeheehee........... Then the electrician have to come this wed onwards or else all will be stuck..... and the lightings........ Any bros or sis's knows any place that sells cheap warm 13W PLC bulb??? TIA...... No la...... cos i started earlier ma....... and mine is mostly carpentries work so shld be faster........ besides, cos im leaving SG for a wk on the 23rd, so told the ID to complete before the time or he will have to wait loh........ hahahaha but also becos my ID have 15 projects on hand so he die die must try to close each case at the projected time or else he will be jammed up on his schedule....

Nice!!1 Loved the Kitchen...... Mine looks somehow similar to yours. Except for the oven space which I didnt opt for due to budget constraint. Simple toliet design but I like the mirror. So big!! Wifey would have loved it. Lucky I bought a big big mirror for her make-up and WIW....hahahaha Good luck on ur reno. Keep posting the pics Cheers

Ah...... I also went to Sungei Kadut to find but didnt see this particular model. Saw another one which was a 3-seater sliding - Full leather. Wifey was quite inclined to get that but luckily saw this when we happened to be there to meet up with our ID. And luckily the salesman was quite nice, not pushy at all and was kind enough to attend to us throughout the entire time (Even though we went in quite late, around 8.30-8.45pm). So in the end, decided on this one cos of the high backrest, soft cushioning and super depth.... hahahahha But decided to get the half-leather since I'm not gonna move it once it's set. Did ask to change the foam though, to the better ones. But managed to bargain for the small side table....hahaha Glad we made the right choice Cheers

Painting work has commenced!!!! The painters are quite professional in my opinion ad they will get rid of the nicks n nacks of the wall in order to make sure the paint is nicely painted onto. Nicely done. By the end of the day, the 2nd coat shld go up alrdy and waiting for the last coat when everything is done up. Can't hardly wait!!! The final result is slowly taking it's shape!!!
