Let me introduce on my little humble house. My wife and I have finally found a unit which we have fell in love with during our first viewing. After finalising on the unit, we begin to research on reno matters through renotalk and both of us realised that the planning and decision making process are definitely worse than organising our wedding. It was really a headache as there are so many things to be taken into consideration. The first step which we have carried out was to research for ID. Searching for a good ID was not an easy task. However, after sourcing out for at least 5 IDs firm, we have finally decided to engage our current ID. Quotations given by different ID were competitive but the main reason why we have decided to engaged our ID was mainly due to the workmanship. Some of the ID brought us to their completed unit (finished renovation)but only my current ID's workmanship is the best so we decided to go for it and most importantly, her price was quite reasonable after my wife has made a comparision (apple to apple) for all 5 IDs via excel. Although the place was well maintained by the previous owner but both of us decided to overhaul the unit since it was our FIRST home. We are a young couple and decided to go for a comtemporary theme. We wanted our house to look as spacious as possible. Our plan are as follows: 1) To hack away the current 'tiny' store room 2) Extend our current living room to kitchen and the extension area will be converted into a dining area 3) A small portion of our MBR will be partitioned up to create a dry area for our toilet since the current toilet is too pathetic. 4) Storage area will be created in both common rooms. 5) Built in wardrobe for all rooms 6) L shape kitchen cabinet 7) full length shoe cabinet Affter we have dicussed with our ID, she proceeded to draw the plan and lighting points. It happened to me too. My wife and I went for a quotation duriong 11th Jan 2011 by a woman. She asked us to sign a ACE Design Hub membership at $50. Then she will send the same request to other ID, then they will send their quotation to us for comparison. In the end, till today, only other IDs called us to arrange for meet up. She never even bother to call us to follow up. So dissappointed with their service.
