Don't need to ask lah. If you post, ppl will see, ppl will comment and ppl will follow. -
The stainless steel models are made in New Zealand, but everything else now is made in Thailand. Their Thailand plant only opened last year, and it seems there are some reliability issues, as their Thailand plant is new, as compared to the mroe established Thailand manufacturers for Hitachi, Mitsubishi etc.

Is the wall behind the waredrobe straight? My bathroom wall is actually not straight (HDB's fault since they built the flat), we only realised this after our laminates were installed, and we realised that the skirting on the wall is not parallel to the laminate edges.
-
If you have tiles, then use tile skirting. Laminates use laminate skirting. If you mix both will be very funny. My tiles in the kitchen has no skirting. Give you live example... Laminated skirting The only place with tiles but laminate skirting. **** not match, can?! Happened because the laminate company went to hack off my original tiled skirting and laminate the store room. Who needs laminates in the store room. So we ask them to make it right, so they removed the laminates AND the skirting! OMG. no skirting and it was v ugly. So we had to call them again to make good their mistake. this was the end result. As you can see they left some marks behind on the wall, but since it was only the store room, we're not too bothered.

Looking For Entrance Handleset
strikingreality replied to 40826084's topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
Some places I've researched. http://www.contatdecor.com/ http://www.dnldesign.com.sg/showcase.html The 2nd shop is definitely within your budget. In the end I bought my Yale handleset from Homefix. Looks exactly like the picture you posted and cheaper than the specialty lock shops. -
PoppyLove, why don't you just post the name and address of the shop in your thread, then you won't keep getting requests for PMs of the address. Makes life easier for yourself too.

If you think you're going to keep on looking at it and think it's ugly, then do it. Otherwise, forever hold your peace.

I totally love your living room feature wall and kitchen wall and laminates... v good choice for the industrial look, which is not something we see often here.
-
With the structural wall and extended storeroom, then those areas cannot hack already. You might wanna do a counter then from the structural wall to the common toilet. For common toilet, why don't you want to maintain the two doors opening to the room corridor and service balcony? Your unit is in Toh Guan area?

Embark On A New Renovation Journey After 8 Years.....
strikingreality replied to centrino2's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat
I think all the Choo Chiangs have... can get from most branches. I got mine from the Rowell and Toh Guan branch. http://ccm.sg/ -
Your current place looks quite nice! Very Balinese modern resort. Why move?

I love that fridge... but doesn't feel very stable... My Hitachi fridge opens from the left side...

A 3kg single tier cake will be a right squeeze at the edges if you have a side-by-side fridge. Should not be an issue with a 2-tier cake. You always buy 3kg cakes?!

Built In Vs Standalone Microwave Oven
strikingreality replied to BIRD1's topic in Electronics & Electricals
Disadvantages (and the reasons why I didn't do it) - What happen if spoil and you need a replacement? What if the replacement does not fit the built in "box" for the previous microwave. Models will always be changed/upgraded. I don't count on the current model still being available when I need to replace my microwave. - I understand from my friends who did microwave research that the efficiency of the oven drops after a using for a while and the radiation will leak from the edges... hence for my peace of mind, I rather change my microwave every few years and it is more economical to find something cheaper with the frequent changes. - You're essentially paying the higher price for the aesthetics since it is the same functions as a normal microwave. - A built in oven is part of the kitchen fittings, cannot bring along with you if you move house. -
Nothing like an open plan kitchen then. Hack ALL the walls!
-
I agree but I don't think TS is hacking away the storeroom... rather, he is expanding it?? I suggest that you don't shift the kitchen door... cuz if you orientate towards the rooms, the fumes from cooking will move towards the rooms... think it is better in its original location... better flow as well from kitchen to dining area...

The normal curtain shops all stock custom made wooden blinds... If you want ready made, can check out Spotlight. I just installed a set of white wooden blinds in my study. No issues so far.

You seem to have a lot of issues with Ikea... but don't need to spill your bitterness into here. I am sure people would like to have some useful feedback on the sofas (not just ikea furniture in general). Anyway, you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. For the price of Ikea sofas, think cannot expect too much as well.

Since your reno is completed I don't think you need to visit no. 7 because that is really DIY stuff and mostly fittings... not much in terms of decor, which I reckon is really what you are looking for now. CDC - a mixture of foreign and local stuff... I think you can allocate a day there, if you are those who like to walk in every single shop. Opposite CDC and approx 5 minutes from CDC there is another 2 places which are furniture malls, smaller versions of CDCs. You might want to check them out as well.
