  1. You're moving in tomorrow?? Congrats! I totally love your kitchen! Intending to do something similar in my kitchen as well as it's about the same size as yours. Do you have an itemised quotation?? Just wondering how much it would cost to do something similar to this... I also bought my laminates from Supreme Floors. How is the installation process... is there a lot to rectify etc or did they do everything nice nice??? Did you final cost for laminates go up or down? Supreme assured me that they will do an actual onsite measurement for the final cost. I got the AC5 12mm...
  2. Actually owners seem eager to close the deal... I don't know why though, cuz they are not doing contra or buying something else. They are moving in with their son... Deal was closed on the first day of viewing. The other COV was 2k higher than ours, but buyers want to wait a couple months before finalising. Heard from our agent that even after deal was closed, there were even higher COVs than the original 2 considered coming in. Actually we like the owners too... they really took care of the house...
  3. Hi hi! Thanks for the welcome! It's so hard to find other owners with the same layout! Do you have a t-blog??? Would love to see what you did... Actually we don't intend to build any shelter over the balcony... we love the open-ness and airy-ness of it... Do u know if the balcony have a drainage hole?? Sorry about asking... I bought my wooden deck without thinking about it then! So stupid of me!
  4. Icesnow, the images have been removed though.... Anyway, HTB has made an appointment to visit them tomorrow... mind sharing your quote please???
  5. Where did you get the rotating stands for necklaces??? I am the opposite of you... plenty of earrings!
  6. Our ID/Contractor hunting process is definitely not systematic in any way... as seen by our laminate/wooden deck purchase out of nowhere. Anyway, Surpreme recommended one of their "regulars" to us. Turned out these guys worked for Designer Guys. And he was pretty prompt in following up, calling us within 1 hour of our finalising of purchase with Surpreme floors. He seems really eager to meet up, so we met up with him. Don't think the meeting was very fruitful, because other than what we listed above, we do not really have any idea on what else we wanna do... Also the guy we met up with isn't really good with suggesting ideas so it was somewhat awkward.... He then said he will come up with a quotation based on what we want to do and get back to us.... We went back to searched renotalk on Designer Guy... turned out that there was a really bad review of them just posted a few days back... and the owner is in the process of going to Small Claims Tribunal to get back his money! OMG. Makes us kind of skeptical, since the review is so recent....
  7. Although nothing done, we did make our first purchase over the weekend. As we are not in a hurry to move in and we didn't want to rush to get the flat ready for the wedding, so we decided that we will start the renovation after the wedding and the minimoon in May. Hence target start is 3rd week of May. However, my mum insisted that we get a new bed for the wedding. =.= Don't know why we can't wait till after we move into the new house... sigh. There goes my custom bedframe..... So off we went to the east to the Lifestyle 21 fair to check out some mattresses. Figured that we will prob get the best deal here, since with all the major brands around, we may be able to have more bargaining power. Along the way, we stopped by Surpreme Floors. Remembered them from the last furniture fair when we popped by enroute from the Borders Book Sale. The salesman funnily (perhaps scarily) remembered us from the previous fair. And since we brought our floor plan along, we took it out and sat down for a chat. And 45 minutes later, after lots of questions, some bargaining from us, inputs and some help from his senior colleague and even his head of department, we signed on the dotted line of the credit card slip..... Wooden Decking and Laminates bought! (On hindsight... I forgot to check whether there is a drainage hole in the balcony... if not, how to wash the wooden deck??? HDB balconies got drainage hole?? Pardon me for the swaku questions!)
  8. Having last seen the house during the viewing within the first few weeks of January, we actually cannot really recall what we wanna do for the flat except for the following... - Overhaul kitchen, install bar counter or island. - Overhaul MBR toilets - Overhaul Common toilet - Install wooden decking on the balcony - Laminates for the bedrooms Erm what else... think think think.
  9. In case you are wondering why the pictures are stamped with this guy called "Alan Wee". We are not advertising for him. He is the seller's agent and we found our place on propertyguru.com. We ended up engaging his colleague as buyer's agent. Actually didn't think we could have gotten the flat otherwise, cuz there were other interested buyers offering higher COVs. She has a somewhat funny name too - Coco. Collecting our keys next week! Nothing done! Anyway, here's the floorplan.
  10. Nice job! I really like the living and dining rooms! My HTB and I really like Project File's works. However reviews here are really mixed, esp on their aftersales service and quality of works. How did u find them so far? Also, able to PM me your quote please? Thanks!
  11. Argh... sorry to hear the hiccup!!! But let's share some good news! SGD reached a new high against the USD!!!! USD1 = SGD1.2605! Time to go shopping!
  12. Hi guys, we're quite interested in Kranki Kraft after seeing their portfolio online. Do let me know what is your opinion of them...
  13. Oh you still have plenty of time then. No rush. The rush only comes 2 months before and by then your place would have been ready.
  14. Aafrenz is a local brand, their specialty is in bedframes. Their bedframe prices are reasonable if u buy mattress from them.
  15. Anyone wanna initiate another group buy for Serta mattress?
  16. Isetan private sale open on 1 day to card members and ticket holders only (tickets are attached to the newsletter sent out to card members informing them of the sale). Sometimes they have tie up with HSBC. Next IPS should be in May just before the Great Singapore Sale. If u looking for bed set, might wanna consider the bedding and bedlinen sale happening this weekend at both Isetan Scotts and Isetan Nex. http://www.isetan.com.sg/promotions
  17. Good buy! I always love Isetan Private Sales. The Panasonic Dect Phone is the one on the coupon yeah? Wanted to get that, but decided to wait till the next IPS or during Great Singapore Sale.
  18. You guys are so fast! We are collecting our keys on 6 April and we have not visited anyone or sent floorplans to anyone yet! With the wedding exactly 1 month after the reno, we are contemplating only starting on the reno after the wedding (and minimoon), ie. 3rd week of May instead.... After seeing all the finished product here, I want to start earlier too! But HTB's swamped with work and he's leading the renovation (I'm project lead for the wedding), so I don't dare to rush him too much too....
  19. I think my HTB will love your place... all the greenery and wildlife. I'm scared of snakes though. Since you're so into online shopping (like me!), I'm gonna stalk your blog for all the good online home furnishing buys. Just wondering. Which has cheaper/better shipping? Borderlinx or Vpost? Have you used Comgateway before?? I just use vPost, never ventured to the rest before.
  20. Hi tangerinez, just dropping by to say hi! You know me from Sgbrides. The resale we bought actually has this feature wall - was done by the previous owners and we're keeping it too!
  21. Hello ex-colleague! Not difficult to find, since I've seen some of the photos on your FB before. Looking forward to the finished product!
  22. Hi there! I like your floor plan! Mind sharing which block is this in BB? I just bought a 4A in BB too around blks 180+!
  23. Hi there, My friend lives in one of these 4A units! And their kitchen layout is v similar to what you wanna do, with the dining in the kitchen itself, and it is definitely quite tight, like what hermione has mentioned, there is no space to get out. They ended using stools rather than chairs for their dining area. Also not sure if you guys are gonna cook a lot, u might wanna factor in more kitchen storage space? And washing area - dun think there is enough space for the cloths rack and still have space to walk ard. I visited another 4A unit in the area. You may have seen the property ads. This may give u an idea of how they utilised the kitchen space. http://www.propertyguru.com.sg/listing/hdb...reet-13-2030127 Nice unit btw. Wish I have money to buy one of those! I love the greenery view.
