  1. my kitchen service area windows are finally up! they didn't even tell me they were going to install, i had a surprise when i went to the house! it's a must to get HDB approved windows for the service balcony, nowadays like condo like that, facade must be the same... quite mafan... pros and cons lah... - windows open - windows shut (btw, does anyone know what the plastic cover on the wall in the service area is for? everyone seems to have it, so weird...)
  2. more tiles in the toilet... so slowwwww..... haven't even add in the mosaic part yet.
  3. i also dunno, new flats sometimes quite silly. just look at our ac window. sigh.
  4. ya, it's really a relief! it would be such a disaster if cannot fit on the day itself! hahaha... super mafan lah...
  5. are u slowly moving in liao? hehe, or ur just going to the house to check things out tonite? Good news is i finally manged to change my aircon to Mitsubishi Heavy. and Good news is it is ~$200 cheaper than my last selection, hehe. shiok. They r v nice about it and responded very fast and gave me 2 quotes to choose from, so really thumbs up to Coolserve. Thanks to Aron for his help man, if anyone needs aircon I definitely have one more choice to recommend now
  6. hey reg, did u measure the lift? u know whats the size? mine is low floor so not so worried about them carrying up, but thought will be good to know
  7. wow, so much to consider ya... sometimes hard to imagine how much work this is. and plus the delay i've had to call and change so many delivery dates i'm so sick of it. just called coolserve and they are letting me change model, but they will get back to me on what their recommendations will be. hehe. prob mitsubishi heavy... still not so keen on korean aircon.
  8. hihi! oh u r so near us. u face the same problem? r u doing reno now too? our window for ac ledge really v small.... u better double check too!
  9. ya, i also thinking that maybe cannot change, but i guess if i'm getting something more expensive no reason cannot change right? lol, unless they are idiots. we'll find out tmr! hehe, gonna call them to check. fingers crossed man! wah no wonder ur reno took so long, ur contractor **** weird also. sometimes also dunno what's wrong with them.
  10. haha, i put $200 deposit, i think should be no issues to change model bah, prob change to a LG or mitsubishi heavy... all around the same price, not much diff i guess. will call them tomorrow this forum is so helpful! i'm so happy that it saved me a shock! haha... but honestly, what the **** is wrong with HDB for doing this to us? they get commission from LG meh? lol...
  11. wow i also have a friend who bought cityview. i think 700k or something, **** ex! but looks nice from outside leh. r u getting keys soon? did u go philips sale and bought all those things? cos i also went philips sale and bought so much things that are still cheaper than those on sale now in stores... lol...
  12. Oh man, really? That sucks, I heard someone say 710 was just nice on another forum that's why. I guess I better go double check, thanks so much for the heads up! Btw, do you know which other brands will fit just nice? thanks!
  13. the tiling has started a couple of days ago... started too late and nothing i can do about it cos i know they are tied up this season. so no choice lah. will just go for my long holiday and not think about the house in jan - common toilet
  14. thanks! it's really a headache when they are slow and it's almost impossible to push them when this season is so super bz for everyone. i also dun want them to rush and just anyhow do... really a test of patience man...
  15. ya i'm super scared too, my reno is slow enough as it is anyways. but my aircon will only install 1 mth later, even if i apply permit also ok. sien. now i give up hopes of being able to semi-move in by new year. now i will just completely move in mid-jan instead. now my furniture deliveries are all scewed up, so irritated. ****. i need a massage, lol! this is such a headache hor.
  16. nice place! everything white v easy to match furniture.
  17. Hi, i pm u. erm, not sure if i did it correctly so let me know if it didn't go thru. i bought system 3, which can fit, i think system 4 cannot. but since i knock 2 bedrooms into 1, 3 aircons are all i need. i think most system 3 will fit. haha we got good taste hor? great minds think alike! i actually didnt want to get the dining table, i wanted to custom make it shorter which they say can be done. but.... got to wait till after CNY to deliver. i cannot wait lah, so just took the one in the showroom, hehe. i also wanted to get my chairs from Lush! but hor, since i buy table they give me the chairs cheaper too. so to make my life easier during the delivery i just get from Lorgans too lor. haha.
  18. hello, i'm a fellow t-blogger too. doing reno now. i like your floorplan, but i think you have less space than you think? i also had a hard time connecting reality with the floor plan since it always looked spacious on paper. plus ppl sitting in the dining table on the inside have no space to walk out if all seats are occupied. have fun toying with this! it took me a LONG time to decide on mine. i'm also trying to get it under 25k. my quote was around 20k odd, but in the end there are changes here and there, permits to apply for hacking etc, extra electrical works... but i'm still aiming for <$25k. mine is new flat tho, so no hacking the floors, plus my only carpentry is in the kitchen... not sure for yours. carpentry is pricey also... anyways, would be nice to see how it works out! i like the 4a in clementi, v spacious!
  19. Oh forgot about the dining table lights. bought from the same store.
  20. ok, here's my damage last weekend: - Ikea Kivik 3 seater sofa. I simple love how comfy this sofa is. I Love fabric sofas! (sponsored by MIL) - Dining table (I love this, I've spent hours looking for dining tables in many furniture malls but I immediately knew that this was the one after I saw it. My ah-ma was questioning me, looks like chopsticks, cross here cross there, can stand meh? cos she is supposed to be the sponsor for this item. I think it's something completely unlike what she imagined we'll buy. lol) - Dining chairs (bought 4x white ones to match the Eames-design table, will buy 2 more but still looking around for other chairs to match) Aircon: Coolserve (Mitsubishi inverter system 3) - The aircon biz is so good that we gotta wait 1 month for installation! But we didn't mind waiting as long as they do it well. Lucky this season quite cool and windy! (no sponsor for this item. sad) Overall damage is many $$$$.
  21. Ya, one of the considerations when I chose this unit is the layout. Not able to be completely open concept but still good enough for me I guess! I can't wait to see how it looks like when things start taking shape. I think it's 3M... You can see it on her blog!
  22. Ah i see... haha, having kids really change the way people think. I guess I never really thought about that. But nice place still... I like the full length windows! But ya i think need to put window film for the heat. my place also got sun. i think in sg it's bobian. I quite like having sunlight anyways.
  23. hey btw did u manage to get discount from Lightcraft? I'm wondering if they are the kind that can give discount or is it nett price. about how much did u pay for your track lights? i'm getting LED too, so i don't mind not being dimmable. will add other dimmable lights in the same space lor. lol.
  24. Just some updates on the plastering...
  25. Ya lar, it is not the most usual layout, but no choice, cos i dunno what HDB was thinking when they allocated that space near the windows as the living area, it is only 1.8m long before it hits the corridor. So i can only buy a two seater basically and push it all the way to the windows. Makes it feel as if the living area is squished to one end of the room while the dining will have so much space to move around in. That's why decided to switch it around instead so that my living area is more comfy. Flow wise it actually feels better. Anyways the house is tiny, doesn't take long to reach the dining from kitchen. haha. All the best for our reno! Hopefully we can both move in at the right time happily!
