Oh I definitely want to see pictures... i've been saving all these pictures of people's heaters of all sorts in sg, and i think i'm developing an obsession, lol... and yes i think rain shower can use with citygas, its common sense to me... unless ur expecting a thunderstorm, i'm sure the water flow should be "rainy" enough... haha!

ya the layout is quite different... And even within diff blocks the layout is slightly diff... Hehe... I think how ppl do their layout in the end also v diff... Quite interesting... Reg, my husband decided to go with storage tank... Thinking of getting something like yours... I supposed you haven't tried it? I'm wondering where u got it, cos we're not sure where to buy. Can buy off the rack?
-
ya i agree the kitchen tiles r not good n will get dirty easily... But gotta stick to my budget for reno, so got to sacrifice that. At least my walls r plastered and the white floor tiles r not too ugly. Can live with it i guess... Just clean more lor maybe...
-
i overlayed both... but it really depends on you lar... if you are looking at saving money then got to really decide what is impt i guess... i gave up overlaying the kitchen... but i did plaster over the walls...
-
hi! did u install lights inside the covered area above the mirror? what kind of lights are those? thanks!
-
hihi! ur my neighbour! ya, this season they are super bz, sure dilly dally one. mine was supposed to be done early jan, but i think now will be only done nix wk, prob last wk of jan then can completely handover. even my aircon also that week then can install. but as long as its before CNY can liao. i just wanna be home! i overlay my tiles. u cant hack those tiles, ya quite off lah the tiles... just overlay, cheaper for us also. hacking is extra cost...

i think one reason why storage tanks are always installed high has to do with water pressure? from low area pump to shower head might not be realistic? why not design a full height vanity that can allow u to store a compact tank above? might look sleeker...
-
ya... back to square one... too headache... i can research all day and still its the same conclusion, both sides also pros and cons. some people say its ok, some people say nope. i think i'll leave it up to my husband to decide lah. either way i'll try to hide it. should not be too bad. my friend concealed her storage tank in a cabinet in the kitchen, i think its nice... those of you with resale should do that. i think if it's really obviously exposed then will be v ugly... actually funny hor, how come these foreign manufacturers dun design nicer heaters... something that maybe looks like a cabinet or something futuristic and cool... maybe those europeans dun mind... after all their houses can be 100-200 years old... ours is only max 40 yrs old... i'm not having rainshower... dunno how to appreciate rain shower... hahaha... but i know everyone loves it. i like my shower at an angle tho
-
wow sounds so scary... maybe the technology still young... ok, maybe i'll just consider a storage tank instead... thanks so much for sharing!

The TV point will be pulled over from the another TV point, wires in trunking I will try to hide as much as possible... No hacking allowed on bomb shelter wall, so everything is in trunking. I'm also not going to wall mount my tv. oh btw i love the grey and black tiles in my bedrooms... hope u'll love it too!

not sure if i'll be trying yet, but quite tempted due to its compact size and flexibility... porkypig, no this type of instant heater is multipoint, which means it can heat up both toilets (showers and taps) at the same time i did a bit more research and seems like besides bennington got other popular brands too, rega and primelifestyle. those seem to look even better, hehe...
-
by the way, no more citygas heater for me! the pipes will have to run all across my service area and frankly i just find that unacceptable. will stick to either a tank or instant heater. found this instant heater that is similar to citygas (minus all the pipes!) concept. http://www.bennington.com.sg. anyone tried this? It's able to heat up both toilets too with just one equipment and just requires a power point and it can be installed in the toilet (unlike citygas which must be installed in the yard).

oh ya, of course if they introduce themselves then it's nice... i don't really mind at all! thanks for the info! the onl thing is i'm overseas now, so i'm really worried about the progress... really wonder what is going on... one hiccup is that the toilet bowls that i bought, which are 2 of the same kind, cannot fit into the common toilet now because the plumber says that the common toilet water outlet pipe sticks out more, so i need to get a toilet bowl that has more gap between the wall and the wc stand. I find it so sickening because it fits the master toilet just nice. i don't understand why these HDBs are so inconsistent... now i gotta go back and exchange the **** wc myself... oh and i'm a bit paranoid one, everything will only be delivered when i'm there to oversee the installation... so a little delayed cos i need to get back to sg first...

i think blinds are good if curtains then definitely cannot be full length, it won't fall right...
-
Hey thanks for the pics on the water heater reg! very helpful man! im just glad i decided against citygas... cannot imagine the pipes all over the place man. me and my hubby were discussing and decided wats the point of spending tens of thousands renovating just to spoil it with something like pipes right... lol... love the black doors btw... i'm painting mine all white... black and white are the best...
-
hey reg, wanna ask u, ur storage heater only connects hot and cold pipes to the toilet? what other connections are there? electrical and pipes wise... cos i'm thinking of dropping citygas (seems like for my layout gotta pull pipes everywhere) and just go for storage heater or instant heater.

wah lau, **** scary lah... i'm also very paranoid that people can just walk away with our stuff. but can you imagine this guy can just walk in and not even introduce himself to me eventhough i was in the living room and he can see me? so weird! really all sorts of people out there. i had no choice but to leave one or two ikea furniture (not assembled) in my spare room, cos ikea does not store stuff for you, if not gotta pay. so irritating... just hope no one is interested in those! and i'm hoping that no one takes my toilet fittings too! gosh, so scary... that's why i refuse to leave my lights there in the house for my contractor to put up, just to be safe... lights are not cheap man... toilet fittings bo bian, cos they need to fix up and those basins and stuff are blardy heavy, but lights i rather leave in my car first and watch them put it up myself!

By the way, just to share, now I know why my workers keep their gates locked while they are working inside the house. I went to the house on a Sunday, and I thought since there are no people working on sundays it should be very quiet so I didn't lock my doors and just left everything open. While I was in the living room sorting some stuff, this guy just walked in and at the same time my mil also came. he started asking her who she was and she asked him who he was. and he said he was the contractor, and i found it weird cos i've never seen him in my life. and he started talking about our reno and kaypoh-ing around the kitchen, this whole time he didn't tell us who he was. so we asked him what he was doing here and he said he was installing window film for another unit and asked us if we needed window films and kept saying that our house is very hot with so many windows etc etc... I immediately was turned off, because how can you just walk into people's house without invitation??? that is just plain rude. and he didn't even introduce himself immediately and was kaypoh-ing my house! i immediately just brush him off and got him to leave. even if he gives me the window film for free i wouldn't let him into my house again man. i used to think that people are kicking a big fuss when these things happen cos there's nothing in the house anyways, but i just felt that it was such an invasion of my privacy and it really just made me feel so unsafe. soooo irritating!!! so i must learn from my workers and lock the door everytime! these contractors who station themselves downstairs and stalk potential customers are soooo scary!
-
ya, outside selling quite expensive! wow, really sien to have to go through all those **** with funny people who dunno how to do ****. i may really consider, cos very sien to have to lock the door everytime you go out just to throw rubbish or do errands leh... haha... oh im still overseas but got internet access... so when u planning to move in? ur house seems almost done! im hoping everything will be done for mine in 2 wks.
-
hey, cool grilles... i think if you can get them to paint it well in white also not bad, if not actually your curtains or blinds will cover them most of the time lah... not so necessary to paint! btw, can u let me know how the new door system you bought from ebay is going? im contemplating getting one too! not sure how it works tho. everything is coming along nicely! new shopping items are nice, my hubby wants a yamaha sound system too but it's so ex!!!
-
hey cool! haha... i love the tiles. cos originally we like the industrial look with cement floor but i'm scared of hairline cracks, so decided that this is the next best thing! haha... ya ur my neighbour. maybe next time will have chance to meet up!

Yeps I got it at Hafary. Hehe... Went back there a few times until the staff can recognise me. Here are more images of the tiles in my house! - guest toilet - master toilet wall close up - master bedroom - kitchen floor tiles in service area done (there was a ramp down, so got to level it up to the kitchen floor's height) My ID is Kass Design. But actually I'm engaging them for contracting work only. Design and decisions are my own, they did not propose anything and only did drawings of the kitchen for me where there is going to be carpentry. Quite happy that they are very respectful of what I want and yet happy to advise if I ask for opinions. So far so good!

Yeps! Lorgans! haha... ya they have nice stuff... really looked for weeks for a dining set that i liked and was so disappointed with what i can find out there. when i went Lorgans I decided everything in 5 mins. So happy!

thanks guys! this reno thing is really tough work... plus shifting another house at the same time... my shoulders have been aching for a week, and my brain is so full of lights and paint selections that it's going to explode! lol... can't wait for it to be over so that i can just shift in and sleep on my nice new bed!

Hi there... been some time since i posted, due to festivities and super crazy schedule and moving... had no time at all! Here's some updates on the reno: as you can see, the tiles are up, and i suppose it will finish by today! i am very tired and busy also because i will be overseas the next 2 weeks (booked some time back, no idea the reno will be in the middle of it now!!!) so rushing to settle more things now... plus we had to shift out of my in-laws place due to stupid planning, i came to the conclusion that i really don't have enough energy to do **** for two houses man. my lifespan not long enough.
