If you can wait - next year recession (few more months!) - electronic prices sure drop, when the price war heats up

Fisher and Paykal - my lasted for 10 yrs...

Went down with my sis last saturday to Cellini's Loyang Branch and bought a home package for $1,998.. but she chose the FOC Pocket Spring Nightingale mattress instead of the Coffee table and TV console. She also chose the Modular Sofa and Bedframe for the package. My hubby thinks the package is very good value, considering we got our sofa from Cellini 2 years back for $2K+.. we are considering replacing our mattress tough.

I am thinking of getting a Karcher jet wash for car-washing and cleaning outdoors.. recently I saw some advertised for less than S$500.. I know they are less powerful than the larger hi pressure units. - question is are those sub-$500 units good enough? Anyone got reviews?

Have been seeing Cellini, advertised their $1,999 package on newspaper a couple of times. the package includes 2 modules of Sofa, Bedframe, Mattress.. My sister initially thought of reupholstering her sofa, but was quoted S$1,300 by a furnishing company in Joo Chiat, and is really excited about the $1,999 package, since she can get a new set of sofa. Just wondering if anyone of you guys bought this package? any reviews on the quality of the sofa, bed etc...?

Think most HTS below $1K are considered "budget"... so maybe, I would think one that is between $1K and $2K is good value...

You mean Intl Furniture Centre at Sungei Kadut? I have been there last year, I know a couple of guys like Lorenzo, OM, Barang Barang and Cellini are there as well.. but are there other new furniture centers like Parkmall in Singapore?

Seriously speaking, the brands you have mentioned are pretty expensive - probably for true blue audiophiles.. I have never heard of Mark Levinson, other than they supply Lexus cars with their sound system.. I always thought of LG as a 'Cheap' brand - so i wouldn't expect to pay a high price for their HT system. But if it is comparable to high end systems, then it might be real value for money.. I haven't got the time to go shopping - but if its worth the trip, I would probably 'test drive' it this weekend.. otherwise, I would rather spend my time sleeping! cheers!

I only saw it last saturday.. Maybe I have missed it. The package includes mattress as well...

I haven't been in touch with the current places to go to buy furniture. My sis is asking me where are the best furniture malls - do you have any to recommend?

HI Guys, Recently heard and saw some ads about LG's Mark Levinson models - anyone happened to try it out? I wonder if its just about branding or it incorporates ML technology...
-
Hi Guys, By any chance, any of you saw the ad on ST last saturday? Cellini has a Home Package (living + Bedroom Package) including Matress for just $1,999... I called the outlet and was told they were mass production export models for the US and middle east market.. Just wondering if anyone of you happen to pop by and see what its all about? I was just thinking of reupholstering my sofa set, but one company in joo chiat charged me $1,500 - think now might as well get a new set

I wouldn't call it 'high-priced' - The new designs tend to sell at a premium. These guys have been around since I was a kid. But the packages are quite affordable, but try to bargain a little bit more. The last time I bought a bed package, I got them to throw in Memory foam pillows for free... I got their Living package as well, but bought my Dining Set from Millenia walk..

In my opinion, you can't really compare Nova or White collection with Cellini and OM... Cellini and OM are manufacturers whereas Nova and White Collection are only retailers. I believe for Cellini and OM, the main bulk of their sales revenue comes from export to overseas. Whereas, guys like Nova and WC import furniture from China...hence, they would be more pushy and aggressive in terms of sales.. otherwise their stocking costs is too high.

Ready Made Tv Consoles That Can Mount Lcd Tv
B2B replied to lounging_lovely's topic in Home Furnishings
Just visited the international furniture fair on wednesday @ expo. saw a walnut veneer with black gloss TV console at cellini's booth - very classy... heard it's not in their showrooms yet.. but a little pricey.. -
Anyone bought from Star Furniture before? How would you rate the quality and service? pls share..

hi, anybody has any experienced with wooden blinds? Is it easy to maintain?

I guess business is too good for these guys, losing one customer won't make any difference to them.. Don't think CASE can do anything about it except sent them a warning letter, which they will probably ignore... My advise, just don't take it to heart, and forget the incident, the 'die-die-must-win' attitude is making Singapore a tougher place to leave in...

In my opinion, getting stuff from places like Nova are a bargain.. So for the price you pay, you can exactly that - lesser service and reliability.. if you are willing to pay more, then there are alot of other choices around... just my 2 cents. cheers!

I can't agree more... seriously, I think Singaporeans are very emotional and they complaint too much. Maybe its the way we are brought up - little tolerance for mistakes.. Maybe if we ease up a little, be less fussy, life will be more perfect

I know of a very nice shop in parkmall, 2nd level.. but not sure the name of the shop. Bought 2 clocks - one contemporary and one classical, but they are not very cheap..
-
It seems those priced around the sub 700 bucks range are using half leather or Synthetic leather. Genuine Leather price has gone up considerably over the last year due to shortage of supply - that's why HTL's share price is plummeting even way before the sub-prime issue... so beware of cheap leather products

I got my Hansgrohe from Parkmall, B1, not sure what's the shop's name...remember to ask for discount- very negotiable

Any Dry And Wet Vacuum Cleaners To Recommend?
B2B replied to ahberden's topic in Electronics & Electricals
I have been using Karcher steam cleaners, but not sure bout their VCs. Phillips has got bagless systems with very high suction power with HEPA filter at under $300.. -
For Mattresses I wouldn't mind the Memory Foam models, but seriously, I tried a memory foam pillow, and find it abit too hot. Think it conforms and 'wrap' around your head, so not much air-flow. I would rather go for a pillow with goose down. I have been using one and find that its the most comfortable pillow around.
