I am so proud that i have another forummer that wants to view my place. Sis mango13 came by my place yesterday with 2 boxes of chocolate. so nice of her!!! even though i have moved in for more than 6 months, but i am still very proud of my place.... even my contractor says that the grout line for my tiles are still as white as new. He said most people will have a tint of yellowish by 3 months and by 6th months, already quite yellow. i think its to do with the mop i use as well as how often we mop the follow. hahahahaha.... -
now i see your picture, Sleek, i can see 2 separate casing running side by side. one that are roundy and another is broad and flat. Mine is only the broad and flat which have all cables together in 1, incl my opennet. don't know why its done this way since a few of you have separate for opennet? hhhmmm....
-
mine was neater cos it together with the rest of the cables for SCV, phone line, electrical cable etc.... so my electrician did not do a separate casing just for open net. that way, everything is as neat as possible, do not have casing everywhere for different things. so when the open net contractor came, they have to be extra careful when pulling the cable, just in case it tangle up with the rest of the cables in the casing. hehehe....
-
tell your electrician you want to do opennet later on. then the electrician will lay a temporary cable from a hole to outside your house to where you want to have your TP. then when opennet is here, they will scotch tape the fiber optic cable to the temp cable and then pull the temp cable at the place you want the TP until the fiber optic cable is through. i also not sure you understand what i mean. heheheeh....
-
Talking about opennet, i also had a slight problem. When i was doing reno, i told the electrician that i want to have opennet. so asked them to lay a cable so that the opennet can use it to pull the fiber optic from outside the house into the tv console area. 2 problems : 1) HDB was doing repainting of the whole block which blocking the cable laid by electrician. So opennet couldn't pull the cable and says its my reno conceal wiring problem. I called my contractor and he came to dismantled the wiring casing. He promised he will come again after opennet successful installation to patch back and repaint where it not perfect anymore. 2) Opennet says there must have 8 inches of space for the TP. but mine is inside the tv console so do not have 8 inches. called starhub, singtel, opennet and the contractor's boss to find out whether its ok to have less than 8 inches. after 45mins of waiting and calling, finally they said it can be done. it was such a headache!! but at least its all done now. just waiting for my contractor to come again to patch and repaint then everything will be as new.

hi mango13, i was not online for months!! really sorry to reply so late. Definitely not a problem for you to come have a look at my place. i hope you will like it as much as myself. hahahaha.... i will pm you! -
This is the type I used to stay in. Yes, can knock off the wall to make bigger living room.
-
Yup, i agreed. That is why i put in my t-blog that my electrical with my contractor was nearly $4k but with the one recommended, it was less than $3k. so for my 4-room, already a different of $1k. I think yours might be $2-3k difference loh.... so for electrical, you can look for your own instead of using from your ID. But the problem will come by when something was wrong then your ID says it was done by the electrician....
-
electrical can be a lot loh... if have SCV point, tel point, LAN point, plus tons of 3 pin power plugs in each area of the flat. my friend 4 room flat rewiring costs abt $5k leh.

Very fast reno for your flat. That's really good.... i understand for the speed especially when in a rush to move in. I used to stay around there too.... blk 6xx, opposite YCK mrt. Nice place.... miss it a lot. All the best to you! -
Congrats in moving in... now you can start to enjoy the fruits of your labour!! Simple but elegant! that is also very nice.

This is not that bad, my old place, the pipes are really in the middle of the wall, this one is still slightly to the right. already hacked so i guess will have to try to box them up but the end result might not be the same as the 3D (so clean cut)
-
Nope, not this one too.... there is another type where the 2 bedrooms are separated by living room. I know what you mean, to have open concept kitchen! i have the same too and when i saw you like red and white, just like mine. hehehehe....
-
Also, the door to MBR cannot be clear glass too. i am not sure whether yours can be done like in the 3D. Last time i was staying in 3room flat, there were a lot of pipes in between the 2 walls so it might not be convenient to have 2 into 1.
