don't hate it, no beam = no flats.... so beams are needed, just like foundation.
-
you can make the wall thicker so all flushed together, but you cannot hack the beam to thinner.
-
All new hdb flats have them. You can ask ard here to see anyone wants to sell theirs. Those that uses dryer might sell this away. I saw someone selling away theirs before.

My bro used to work there. Nice work!!

My solid surface have very scratches and I cook like 3-4 times a week. And sometimes I lazy to use chopping board, I just cut directly on my solid surface. Very little scratches....and it have been more than 16 months and yet no stain. So if know how to take care, solid surface is quite good. To me, choice of granite and solid surface depending on colour. If I want black then granite better. If I want white, since quartz way too ex ( doubled the price of solid surface) then I would choose solid surface instead.
-
Samsung is ok. But if you use solid surface then don't choose dark colour. It would show scratches easily, just like black tiles. If I want black then get granite since you can granite for 80-100 pfr. Samsung solid surface should be abt 100-120 pfr. But if you want white then only solid surface or quartz gives you white. Quartz in the range of 170-2xx.

Yup agrees with you on shiny and nicer part. Just want to clarify to Chezph that granite might not be more ex than solid surface. No matter what, your carpentry should give you want was agreed. Another mistake they made.

Her contractor/ID is her hubby. Of course the best ever lah. -
Granite and solid top not much different. In fact, better quality solid top like LG is more ex than Indian granite.

5 Rm Resale Flat - Reno
May_dream1 replied to dumdum's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
Depending on how much time you have to coordinate and how well you are in coordinating. If you want to save money then go direct to all different contractors. If you want to save the trouble then go look for a main contractor that will do all coordinating work and give u advises on whether it's feasible or no based on your design. But you want someone with good design skill then can look for an ID. Will design nicely for you then coordinate for you too. But as you read around here, some contractors are bad and some ID are bad too. Just be careful when choosing the one to do your Reno. -
Hopefully next week inspection will be ok.
-
If hdb then the budget should be ok to get ID cum Contractor. But if condo then will be a bit more difficult cos pricing for condo generally higher due to many hidden costs.

gas piping must be done by city gas, right? they will not conceal it under the tiling for you.
-
You want piped gas or tank gas? If tank gas, you can do island since not restricted by piping. But if you want piped gas, then you have to ask city gas whether they can let you have pipe coming down from the ceiling to your hob in the middle of the island. I would think this is quite ugly lah. So best you take tank gas or else electric hob ( got other choice other than induction. Mine is electric but it's vitro ceramic)

They got money also won't pay back and they would move out Liao so they also not scared. But only beginning of the year had the "paint" door then maybe the case resolved already? Just install CCTV first then go to police if they come by again. -

Mine have a switch like heater switch so instead of 3pin, it's nicer looking loh. -
Ants also will create those black powders. Termites will usually be a lot of it, not just a little. And within months, whole cabinet will be destroyed. Get pest control to come check loh....
