Is 10K enough to do up my request for 3NG flat? NO! see estimate below 1. Laminating of Hall & 2 Bedrms - estimate about $2500, assuming you hve 500 sqf for living + 2 bedrooms and using relatively ok laminate 2. 2 toilets - toilet tiles are not cheap as the wall is quite a big area. usually 2 toilets costing $10k but if you on budget, you can try to do it for $7k 3. Full electrical works - usually abt 1.5k -2k depending on how many points and how old is your flat. 4. Change of all wooden doors and main gate - main door $1k if fire rated, grille is $500 or so and bedroom doors are $300 for both. 5. Knock down wall btw living and kitchen and build partition in btw - knocking down a wall abt $1k lah. 6. Painting of whole hse - 3 room flat abt $800-$1000. 7. simple kitchen cabinet but only ground - Average of kitchen cabinet + solid surface $200 per sq ft. All these haven't incl sanitary ware like toilet bowls and basin and taps... and lightings. these can costs up to a lot... mine is nearly $7k.

aiyoh... i think your plumber also no time to keep on going loh...so after few trips, he will make sure its ok.

if i choose veneer, its $300 per door and if i choose laminate, its $400 per door. i have no chance to look at the doors yet. but basically, for my bedroom door, one side will be same laminate as the TV feature wall and the other side will be same laminate as my tv feature wall in bedroom. so both side have different laminate so that it will be flushed in together with my tv feature wall. So can only see the line between door and feature wall but might not know its a door.... if i design the door properly... heheheeh....

huh? i am paying more for the laminate door compared to veneer. if i choose veneer, i will save some money loh.....

I have been both PR and citizen. When i was a PR, not getting grants, benefits and all are expected as i am not citizen. My home country will provide the citizen benefits, if the home country is good ie UK, NZ, AU etc (don't count on Malaysia though) The govt have to look after the citizens as all countries in the world. THere is no countries that will not favor citizens over PRs (its like own children and step children). But as a citizen, of course i would hope that govt would do more. Not only household >$8k no grant, for singles like me, salary >$3k also no grant. Also both also cannot buy BTO... can only buy resale which usually costs more. That is the way the rules are as there are no way rules can satisfy everyone. Just have to live with it and find own happiness in our own way.

Yes, its restricted by HDB. if you go into city gas website, there are 2 models, one for hdb and one for condo. I have no idea how it looks like... i have never seen it but as long as the contractor let me choose whatever laminate i like, and i can have some pattern on it, doesn't matter lah. My unit no need fire rated... i can get fire rated but no need lah, not going to make much of a different. if there is fire, i would have jump down from my windows (will tie all my bedsheets together and let myself down). hahahaah.... So one of the laminated for my front door and one for my master bedroom. the store room will use the existing....

Those have rain shower using city gas, any comments?? i need to decide whether to use storage or city gas.

gimz63251073 is not using rain shower so also don't know whether it works well with rain shower or not. in SG, city gas only selling 1 type of gas heater. either you take it or leave it. Yes yes... i have city gas as far as i know. that is what the seller told me when i asked him what type of stove he is using and he told me its piped gas. so means its city gas lah...

ya, i think so too. most PR that don't want to give up citizenships are malaysians, not the rest. not 18 years old lah, 15 years old when they have to apply for IC. Maybe for girls is 15 and boys at 18? i am not sure as both my nieces are girls so they have to decide at 15 years old.

As long as 1 parent is Singaporean, and baby born in Singapore, will auto be singaporean until 15 years old. then the child have to decide whether want to continue to be singaporean or not. Even if the son is born in China, if the son is brought back to stay in Singapore, he has to be PR too. If he is PR, he cannot escape serving NS unless that child is left permanently in China.

Citizenship is not granted easily but still a lot of people getting the citizenship. Maybe they should look at it that if only 1 convert for a PR couple, they should not grant it cos means that they want take advantage of being a citizen and yet still want to have best of both worlds.

well, my sis wanted me to change the egyptian crystals to swarovski crystals which will cost me another 2k more as it needed to be change one by one... so my sis asked me to save $3 per day so that in abt 2 years time, i will be able to change the whole light into swarovski crystals loh. *faint*

aiyoh, i never use gas heater before leh..... but the way they describe in the website seem like very very good.... also no need to worry about electrical.....

Ya, will take it as extended warranty but its only for 1 year. that is the warraty given by the shop..... Thanks.... i do hope its worth the money. When its here, i better calculate each and every crystal since its costing me $2 for each of it. oh, royal fanco don't have hansgrohe? hhhmm... i am not buying all hansgrohe, only the shower/rain shower.
