I did the same... I told contractor cos he will go tell the electrian but I think I will choose another. His pricing is so ex. Haha... And curtains costing me a lot too. big area big budget. Overspent by too much!!

I did take all colour codes home to think through at home. Also, drawn on my floor plan where I wanted the switches and how many 3pin plugs. Already met contractor to talk abt it once but he just want to meet again to double confirm everything. Yup, my contractor told me he will leave a gap of 8" so that the tracks are inside the Lbox. we did discuss abt it way before I went to choose curtains. He does tell me many many small details. My choosing of curtains are quite fast! Settled everything in 2 hours and another bleeding expenses. Haiz....

Yup, now it does look big!!! So happy... But not sure after everything is in, will be as I hope.

Hmmm.... The tv is in my bedroom leh... Cannot push my bed forward leh... That's why I want a big tv. Now I think 2m away for 42" is small, how to watch with 60" with 5m away?? Hmmmm....

Mine is Vitro ceramic glass hob. I won't seal it, most probably.... I won't be so careless to overboil and I am only one using kitchen so it's ok. But you, for the sake of your son, will let Gf boil some soup, so better seal it for your own sanity. Or else will keep on getting upset if she did same thing again. Hehe....

Soon lah and if like footprint speed of renovation, I think by beginning of May can move in Liao.

I want flats that the walls have been hacked. But after looking for so many, none had the walls hacked so I have to do it myself by doing renovation. Had sone problem with hdb approval but now all done. I like it.... So don't think that hacking walls will limit buyers to your unit. Secondly, look at your own lifestyle. It's your own flat, not your future buyer flat. If you always worry abt your future buyer wants then it's not your flat anymore. Do what you like and need, ie rooms for kids and in laws then don't hack. But if you want big master bedroom so u can put baby cot and etc in it, then you would need it to be bigger. Hope you will find what you really want in your own flat.

RENOVATION DAY 16: TILING CONTINUES Today decided not to use my comp to blog about my house renovation. Just using my iPhone as I am very very tired today. Why you might ask?? This is the 3rd time I met my contractor past midnight. I must say today is the worst as I discussed with him until 2am!! Yes, you all didn't read wrongly and I didn't type wrongly. Really met him from 8.30pm until 2am!!! Never had I thought that house renovation going to take even my sleeping time. Why need to spend so long? Few reasons: 1) confirm my laminate (called laminate company to send bigger piece, abt a4 size. So easier to confirm which laminate to choose) 2) gave my preferred layout for kitchen cabinets and wardrobes. What I mean is placement of drawers, how big each drawer, where to have casement doors, how high of each cabinet from the floor, from the wall etc. Wow.... Didn't know all these will take 5 hours. 3) choose painting colours 4) confirm all electrical points 5) confirm which switch to on which lightings. Hmmmm.... I think that's about it. Went to see my house progress.... It's quite good. Like all the tiles I chosen...now my bedroom does look big!!

Tmr going to choose curtains. then Sunday another long day...

Haha.... Ya we have very good relationship. I am quite glad I choose him. He always disturb me as well cos I am very "deh". All I just want is finish on time and reasonable good quality. 3 more weeks to go!!

of course can put in 60" Tv. mine house is not the biggest (ie its only a 4 room flat). Those bigger than mine will be able to fit in that tv too... hehehehe.... or else how to get projector tv? Projector tv is even bigger loh... hahahaha.. i am so stressed at work leh... don't think i can work with my new boss..... she expect me to work till 10pm daily leh.... i am goig to faint soon.

Ya I know... So tempting!!! Sunday will go see. Maybe that 5" will not have that much of price different? Seldom see advertised pricing for 60" leh.

thanks to all your encouragements!!! i feel so much better... maybe i slept too late so that is why a bit "sianz" with my renovation. But i salute my contractor and his assistant. both of them came to talk to me until 2am then while he was driving home, he still called me. at 2.30am!!!! he says the wardrobe should be body as wood grains and door as orange laminate. I wanted something different where body is orange laminate while the door is wood grain laminate. i guess its just too much of a different. its ok, i don't need friends78 place cos they came to look for me at amk, not my new place.... hehehehe.... so not a problem!!

waikwok, i think you are getting too much too!! Marshmallow trying to be nice to Martin as he has apologied by trying to see whether she can help to talk to Henry. No one says that she need to help Martin to pay for all these things or house his whole family. But you assume that Martin need all these things from marshmallow? Even though you are not related to him but seem like you know him inside out? Martin, if you are reading this, you found a worm in your stomach that understands you completely. Hope you understand that there are nice people on forum that does want to help you. but if you don't need them but just want to warn other forummers about how bad Henry is, you are welcome to. This is free world, no one is stopping you. Like i said earlier, you apologised and we forgive and forget. Hope you can come in again after a month and also note that none of us go complaint to moderator. marshy, friends78 and supersimon, let's concentrate on those that wants our help and appreciate it. I, for one, would need a shoulder to lean on..... very tiring process these few weeks.

I want to sleep early too. But just too many things to discuss and I got no one to help me. Ya, discussion with him just get later and later. Hope no more such long nights....

I don't think anyone did complain to moderator. Maybe they read his post with the word "rape". Anyway, apologies accepted. I know how frustrating especially after paying so much money still have so many problems. If it's me, I will be super upset too. Just that he using an example that doesn't sound nice at all. After all, "rape" always sound rude to when talking to a woman. Hope he will be more sensitive on his choice of words. Like I said earlier, I don't know who is Henry and I don't care. My concern is for my friend, marshy. We are all trying to share our experience here. I am sure a lot of other forummers would appreciate his bad experience with Henry to serve as a warning. I am glad you moved on.... Hope your next Reno will be a better one.
