  1. I used to stay at 4th floor, then 3rd floor before moving to 6th floor. to me, staying at high floor or low floor have not much different. Its the environment that you are in.... if you are at high next to highway, the noise will makes you go crazy. but if its low floor but with nice garden on the outside, i think its worth it. So be more concern with location then just which floor is the flat.
  2. did you have your floorplan anywhere in renotalk? maybe you should start your tblog so that we can give you idea.... are you sure you have 9m of worktop? that is really a lot!! let me see your floorplan then we can all discuss
  3. can't see something as nice as what Hoo8899 has posted with the pretty girl. Everything else i see are so normal, nothing special that caught my interest. if you are buying, please let me know. maybe we can share the shipping if i can find something i want?
  4. that means your flat is in good condition. that is why no need much reno
  5. oh my gosh!!! all chinese words... how am i suppose to look for lightings??
  6. you can start sharing even before you start your reno. my tblog started in dec when my reno started in march... hahaha... i think when my reno started, my tblog already at page 10 or not.
  7. everyone of us also calculative lah... when its involving big sum of money leh.... add this and add that can be 20k or 30k or like mine, 50k leh.....
  8. sorry, i don't know how to read chinese. what does these 3 words means?
  9. very nice light indeed for the dining..... where you going to get this? online or a shop you saw this?
  10. then ok lah... give and take lah... he gave others FOC then charge this a bit, its ok lah....
  11. i understand lah.... go and negotiate with your contractor loh..... see whether he is willing to do it for free.
  12. Maybe your contractor was not detail in giving quotation. for mine, he asked me all the minor minor question like whether i need hot water, whether its storage heater, instant heater or gas heater. And where i want the hot water to flow to... need hot water for kitchen sink etc..... then only he gave a full quote. so those that he didn't ask me, later on realised need to be done, usually he will do it free for me since it was not in his quote.....
  13. Wah.. you mentioned everyone's name except mine even though i am first to welcome you to Renotalk. I also went to those at expo and they are totally inexperienced. Its better if you get contractors/IDs recommended by friends or those that have done theirs here. you can go and see my tblog and see my kitchen island.
  14. it could be the fridge or storage water heater that cost the high electrical bill too. induction can work with wok but you need to buy special wok that are used for induction. not easy to find cos the bottom have to be flat... there are induction hob that have curve bottom for curved wok but cannot use other pots on it... so its quite useless.
  15. So smart huh? But I might only able to visit next sat.
  16. Thanks thanks!!! So patience to read all. I feel so honored!
  17. i don't think i did post the brand of toilet bowl. but if you want, i can go home to check... or take a pic
  18. i agreed.... doing up a 5 room for less than $20k is really unlikely unless you are not changing anything at all. Accessories for both toilets - $3000 MBR toilet wall tiles + pebble wash flooring for both toilet - $4000 redo kitchen cabinet - $5000 laminated flooring - $5000 material for painting and wallpaper - $3000-$4000 depending on what kind of wallpaper solid doors - $400 each so about 3 rooms = $1200. Main door solid door - $$800 - $1200 depending on fire proof or not Study room - $2000 so easily $25k already.
  19. i have send personal message to you. please read your message.
  20. ceramic vitro cost more i would imagine cos it take a longer time to heat up. as for induction, its much faster.... Secondly, looking at the kW, vitro ceramic is 2000kW (i think) but induction usually ard 1500kW. yup, for induction, wok would not work as induction need water to have heat. vitro ceramic is heating up the pots and pans as well as everything inside so its ok if using wok. i have been using for 9 months and its working perfectly well. like what i said, it just take longer for initial heat up but once its heated up, its much hotter than gas. Reason why i choose vitro ceramic: 1) the top are flat, looks nicer 2) less smoke compared to gas 3) i can use a fan while cooking, as fire will not be blown out 4) there is a timer, so if i am boiling soup, i can set the timer while i go shower. i had boil soup before that when i go shower, it flow out and almost burnt my whole pot.
  21. a good one are no lack in customers so might as well do a good job with a good profit margin. If bad profit margin, then won't need to do as well..... that is why its better to get recommendation.
  22. do it like me, go adjust the temp and water level, then go and try it. if still not good, go out again to adjust, then go into the bathroom to try again. do that until its ok.
