i had a 42" in my room when i was staying in 3 room flat. then now, my room is 55". it was not by choice cos no brands have 60" LED when i wanted to buy my tv.

Built in and customisation are definitely longer lasting... and less problem too. if you look at friends78 tblog, she bought a wardrobe from vhive and it grow mold within few months. now, she have to customised another wardrobe... so isn't that a waste of money and time? imagine if you buy from ikea and it was spoilt within months, then you buy again and again and again?? As long as you are happy living there, don't be envious lah... hehehehe.. i am sure it will all looks wonderful!
-
Purple fairy, you so excited to look at Reno even before otp? Maybe you will get a nice flat that no need to Reno at all?? No problem, just be thick skin and I will welcome u.
-
Depends on your carpentry. If a lot of feet, sure ex lah. So cannot compared like that lah.
-
Renotm and terrain, we are all abt same age lah. Hehe.... So good that this time round, so many singles buying. Last year was all married or getting married. Makes me so out.... I got no plans on sat so I am ok. But not too early though. Maybe about 2pm or so??

mine was 2 load with stopping at 2 more places on top of my place so its 3 locations with 2 trips and 70 boxes. And my old place is without lift... Total is $400 but i paid tip of $100. mine is not helping hands....
-
Yup, your 3room looks good ... so how much COV did you get? i think your reno looks new..... are you going to buy Yishun again or else where?
-
i know... i know... going through quotations and contractors again and again are really tiring. i was choosing between 9 of them and it took me 2 months to go through all these. Each one have to meet at least 2 times..... my days were busy with working and nights with meeting contractors. that is why, its better if we don't need to do this again and again.... i totally surrender!! so, i got to make sure i stay here for at least 20 years to make it worthwhile. hehehehehe... you can come to my place to have a look too.... then i can tell you what to look out for... That is why i am asking you, how long do you intend to stay there. if at least 10 years or more, then its worth going through all these or else, like what you said, just do simple and that's it! hahahaha....
-
you ask Andrew loh.... if its the same, then Andrew would say so. most of those i recommend, he would use this tiler cos he is really good. need to have same standard as mine cos most of you would come to see my place mah. hehehehe.... Your initial comment about him is good leh. hahahahaha... i am sure if he knows, he would be happy about it.
-
its quite ex lah but then at least its clean loh. clean is more important!! hehehe... aiyah, mine is in my MBR only... yours is 5ft+4ft+8ft = 17ft leh... hehehe... all add together then bigger than mine mah. hahahaah..... ya, i have that too so i bought some ant killers stuff then they will bring them back to their nest and hopefully they are all dead!!!
-
your 4 room is not small loh.. there are only 2 of you staying there... and most of the time, your son with yr in laws. when he is older, then he also have his own room so 3 ppl in yr 4 room is not small too loh.... 108sqm leh.... you stay in condo also might not have such big place looking at how small condo now is unless you buy penthouse loh. last time, i clean my own floor.... now i have part time maid but when my friends come over, i will do my own mopping too leh.... its tiring but then at least its clean mah... heheeh...
-
$280 for 1 trip? do they look at how much stuff you have? mine was $400 leh....
-
ya, it will still come... that is why cockroaches can survive from dinosaurs time
-
that 8ft wardrobe is at the extra room, not in the MBR. friends78 have big place for big wardrobe... hahaha...
-
i use magic wipes to clean hair off the floor.... if use broom, sometimes it doesn't work as well as magic clean. so mopping is still the best to remove the sticky feelings. i use floor solution from malaysia.... it have a special ingredient in it that will prevent ants and cockroaches.... but i think its not working as well as its said.... but i like the smell and its really very smooth after mopping. i used some others before (normal brands) that i find its not as smooth.

for new BTO, no hacking of toilet tiles for the first 3 years!!! This is HDB ruling http://www.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10324p.nsf/w/HomeRenoGuidelinesBuilding?OpenDocument#Bathroom look under "floor finishes". Even after 3 years, you would need permit to hack toilet floor tiles.
-
no lah, not expert... just trying to share experience!
-
ya loh... sometimes never see properly then bought the flat. after that only realised so many things.... do you want to stay there forever? i would want to stay where i am if i can.... don't want to move already. ya ya... same as you.... i prefer tiles than wood cos i like to walk on tiles and its more lasting when do mopping. i don't mop hard but i mop 3 rounds....
-
i was there when they came to do rewiring cos i need to inform the electrician where i want double socket and where i want my lights etc.... so they took 1.5 days to do the wiring for whole house. then the day before i moved in, they came to install the lights.... took them 1 day to fix all the lights..... it depends on the place you putting the gas heater.... and also the installer. sometimes, installer just don't care, simply installed.... but mine was ok cos i was there and i told him where i want with minimal connection. tonight take a pic and let you see..... if i remember how to post pic on here.... hehehe...
-
will you move? for me, i don't think i want to move unless govt is going to chase me out to enbloc my place.... if the chances of you moving is low, then don't think about able to take it with you when you move... although i would say, that table raelly looks nice in pic. but need to feel and touch it to know whether its really as good quality as it looks. so how was your discussion with him? any good? did you follow my advise? His carpentry is quite good, i shall say.... at least externally.... that means, place that you can see, its done very well.... all smooth and nice, nothing sticking out... but internally, there might be some screws that are quite obvious where they will use stickers to cover it.... which i think its quite normal? but i like the feature wall that they did. really very good quality and smooth.... when i do the turn.
-
ya loh, i heard that is the normal speed leh..... i know from my contractor wiring usually takes a day or two. never longer.... mine was at the corner so it was not so bad....
-
Who is your tiler? seem like very experienced..... maybe its the same as mine. haahahaha.... yr settee does looks good!! hahahaah.....
-
Yup, I rewire the whole house including changing DB box as well. The old wire have to be removed and then rewire with new wires loh. Hmmm.... I also surprised its so fast. Hehe...
-
All the best!! He is fast to get it done so soon when you say it's tuesday. Remember, try to sound helpless instead of upset if it's too much. Then slowly see where to cut... The table really look interesting. If u have that then you kitchen have to be "resort/woody" feel.

A pair then the soft closing will be too slow. Sometimes can't even close properly. But with only one, it would make it close softly still. You have to see to understand.....
