5 sets for $700? cheap leh.... mine was nearly 1900 for 4 set of windows only.... i can't remember how much i paid for my electrian... so i can't say $30 for lighting point plus installation is ok or not. as long as you think its ok, then its ok loh.... don't stress over the small thing.

His carpenters made such wonderful job at my feature wall that I have nothing to complain abt. I don't think many ppl able to do this.

Buy a nicer rice cooker then. Put at island good mah, easy for everyone. His recommended electrician is zenterra which I think quite famous here too. But he is ok if u outsource, just that it's easier for him to coordinate. But if have enough profit margin from yr Reno, then no reason he won't let you go outside. Only if u squeeze him till small margin then he need to earn from other place loh. I think that's his mentality lah... Most contractors need to earn money mah.

aiyoh, why would it be ugly? its so strategic leh.... open the rice cooker, and put rice on plate and pass down to everyone sitting there. no need to walk ard... so convenient. and how ugly is yr rice cooker? if you remove your tall cabinet, no oven for you?? mine island have power point... hahaaha..... andrew will know how to do it!

i think you went to look for my contractor too but you didn't choose him cos his price is slightly higher? or because he cannot finish before cny? so have you moved in or not yet?

its too heavy to use brass pot lah.... i don't use them... i got one cast iron pan already find its so heavy... then my pressure cooker pot also quite heavy... already cannot take, how to use brass pot?? ya lah, the adult will take a lot of space too mah.... so the long island is good loh. Oh, that's quite fast. hope you will get it going with him.

put yr rice cooker on the island where your dining table is...such a long table, no place to even put a rice cooker?

you are like me leh i have frying pans of different sizes for different things and different pots for different things.... my kitchen have enough pots and pans for a family of 8 on normal basis... hehehe... and my plates and bowls and cuttery also enough for 30 pax (i know cos my cg is nearly that big) since your family is so big, then you should do the long island, as you just discussed with one of the contractor. that way, its enough for everyone to sit around it loh. i really admire those that can read all my pages.... hehehee.... thanks!

ya, you can add a water filter anytime although you would need them to connect the water filter to your tab lah... heheheeh.....

my sis used to use the cosway water filter too but she says might as well get one that can have alkaline ionized water... cosway is to "clean" the water, not much use, right? ya lah, i understand..... that time i bought everything also broke until want to cry. hahaahha... well, think about it loh.... just to let you know so you have more choices....

since your electrician charging you extra for switches, then no choice lah. normally its all incl but i don't know why yours need to charge extra.

Wow! you say till so good, i will get shy and have to cover my face when i go out liao to clarify, i am not an interior designer but rather, i like to play with interior designing... hehehe... with the long island in the middlw with cabinet, you only have 0.9m to walk is ok. but if you have drawers, when you open, then you might not have space to stand in front of the drawers, but have to stand sideway... hehehehe.... i still prefer what i told you.... the island nearer to where the old store room is. if you plan to move the storeroom.
