  1. I also talked about this delicooker in the other section http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=47222&view=findpost&p=695712 Some people prefer induction so that it won't get burnt when touching the heating element. But if you use gas, then the area around the stove would still be hot too, like delicooker. Just have to be more careful lah..... what i do is just put the pot or wok on top of the ring so that i wont accidentally touches the ring. One of the main reason i like this is because i can use any pots or pans or wok to cook without worrying whether its suitable for induction. And i am glad i bought this cos now with the craze of Happycall pans, this can be used on it, but not on induction. I love to cook too... so take note that it does take a while for it to heat up....
  2. Congrats!! what a nice big living room and nice layout!! perfect for a lot of renovation to make it the way you like... especially the rooms are all so nicely placed together without any odd corners! So happy for you!
  3. it took me just 1 viewing to decide on the place.... i guess its all based on your feelings. when you step into the place and you feel peace and you like it at first view, then it would be the place for you. Welcome to RT! are you from malaysia?
  4. thanks for telling me.... now i realised that my maid really took a lot of effort to clean my place... hahaahha.... she have to help to clean the old place when i move out and she helped to clean my new place. so i didn't need to clean a lot..... hehehehe.... can't wait to see the completed pic of your place.
  5. hhmm.... definitely not 6k to 7k loh... i will never buy so ex sofa.... mine is fabric with wooden legs... very good.. i like it very much and that is why after 9 years, i still not willing to change... nothing wrong with the cushion.. just the fabric is a bit old already. hehehehe.... i think its at 2nd floor..... definitely not ground floor lah.... so you can check out on level 2 or level 3.
  6. Wooden base sofa is not easy to find. Took me a while to find and I know this shop at furniture mall that have it. But I can't remember the name. I bought mine 9 years ago and still in super good condition. Price wise, was not cheap but it's really good quality.
  7. Technically there are no doors at study, right? So for maid's room, only 1 door for maid to go main door. Not double doors.... Welcome to RT!!
  8. if its private property of bungalows, i am sure the toilets are big. And the price of the tiles psf are not stated. If choose marble which cost $20-$50 psf, having toilet reno costing $3000 is quite normal.
  9. Hopefully no need to move for long long time more to come.
  10. not after this time.. after this, cannot be so mobile already. hahahahah.... when i shifted from AMK to current, i have 65 boxes loh... and many other things too.
  11. ya, not bad... but 10 boxes is enough for you? hahahaha.... then go buy the tiles loh... i will be waiting!
  12. make sure got mahjong table too..... you can start learning too.... since yr partner also can teach you. hehehehe... we don't play with money first lah.
  13. no pic? want to see leh.... you will invite me, right?
  14. i am not sure how many metres are mine but then i only have 5 panels of full height, 10 panels of half height. that's all and alraedy cost me $1900 leh.
  15. does that means that granite counter top also have the same problem?
  16. I had the same problem too. The tiler told my contractor abt the uneven so I don't dare to take the risk. When to choose another tile and 2nd one I choose was definitely much better.
  17. Clementi that got enbloc are built ard 1977-1978. I just checked hdb website. And they wanted to renew that area ard Clementi central. It's depends on govt but mostly are 3 room flats they are enbloc.
  18. hahaha.... then you wait longer lah... there are flats are that built in the 70s also haven't enbloc. also, they will enbloc those in strategic locations, like Rochor centre, Havelock road, Sims ave... those further away from town, the chances will come later.
  19. i never heard about laminated door, but i don't believe doors should only be those boring types.... i went to search everywhere, also can't find anything interesting. Finally after few meetings with Andrew, he finally told me that as seldom people willing to pay the higher price for laminated doors.
  20. yup, you have to apply for it but your ID should do it on your behalf. Cos the permit need the name of the ID company and it must be HDB approved contractor lah.....
  21. That's where i got to lah! and i spent $1900 for 4 sets leh.... sob sob.... but i agreed that their service is very good. as i make a WIW, the initial measurement before the WIW was up were slightly different than after. so when they came to install, they realised the measurement a bit out so went back to redo again. Just that i find the price a bit high....how come you can get it so cheap?
  22. depending on how old is your block lah. if still new, then won't enbloc so soon lah.... hehehehe...
  23. its really depending on your lifestyle and what you prefer. For me, having a good location and layout is more important than whether the flat is new or not. Renovation wise, the older flats have better layout so its easier to renovate to your liking than newer ones. On pricing wise, i know the newer flats are more ex than older even though they can be smaller size. Due to the remaining years of the flat. So, the difference can be used for doing a good renovation. About enbloc, as we know so far, there aren't many blocks that are older than 50 years old so i don't think hdb would really wait till 99 years before en bloc a block. Before you know it, hdb might en bloc once its reaches 50 years old and give new flat to you? I still find its worth it to buy older flat at good location so even en bloc, will be given nearby location so you will get a new flat at good location without paying for the high price.
  24. Depends on your need... for me, i would have 2 bowls where there is a smaller bowl (your so called 70/30) so that the smaller one can be for drying utensils..... and i would prefer undermount to have seamless look. Square is the latest trend but difficult to clean the corners... round is easier... So, its all depending on what you want to do with yr sink.
