Congrats in getting your own flat! We have the same common problem, single income single buyer! But not to worry, you have quite a few of us here to help you along your renovation journey! As for renovation loan, bank will issue the cheque in the name of your ID/contractors. They will not give you the money and you pay to ID yourself. This is because renovation loan is lower interest compared to other non collateral loans (ie credit card loans). Thus, to make sure its not being misused, the banks will issue it to the ID/contractors. So if you want to have loan for contractor separately from carpenter, then you can apply for 2 different banks. But each have to be at least $10k. Some banks issued max 3 cheques for renovation loan, and some only 1 cheque. For eg, if you have 15k loan, you can ask them to issue $5k each. Then you have to look at the progressive payment of your contractor. If its above $5k, at least you can issue your own cheque to top up the difference. If its less than $5k, then its really up to you whether you trust your contractor. For me, there was a payment that was above the cheque amount i asked the bank to issue but i trust my contractor, so that payment was more but the following payment was less. As for aircon, it depends on whether you use it often. If not that often, then to save money, you can just use what was there. but take note that if next time you want to change, then might not be easy to hide the trunking and have to repaint again. And most probably, the aircon have to be at same position as now. But if you change, then at least it can last you for another 10 years or so.

not really leh.... i stayed for 1 year and when the wall is dirty, i still heart pain.... heheheh... got to use water and clean the walls. maybe another year or so, will ask Andrew to repaint again.

ya, i went *** before too and realised the price is actually a bit on the high side. that's why in the end went to hoe kee and few other shops.... different shops for different items.

that is why i am surprised! all the flats that i moved into, all have starhub connection. no problem at all to just move my starhub internet and tv. All i need is to tell starhub when i am moving and the day i move, i bring along the box for internet and tv. then it would work automatically at the new place. been like that for the last 4 moves.....

as this is your first reno, at least you learnt a few things lah... next time won't make the same mistakes again! I am sure your home will still be as beautiful as you wanted it to be even though there are minor mistakes.

if i don't remember wrongly, mine took 3 days or so and there were abt 3 people working on the plastering..but i think there is a day that there were only 2 person.

i used to take the north south line too ard 8.45am.... really difficult to get in. but after i move to north east line, its better.... not as bad... but more and more BTO ard punggol and sengkang, i think next time will be as crowded as north south line already.

its worth it lah.... i paid the full price leh... cos i bought from authorised dealer. But the convenient is totally worth it loh.... i don't need to worry abt losing keys, giving many duplicate keys to my family and friends, and i can go exercise without worrying abt carrying keys ard.....

i don't know what model you use leh.... control the water pressure. if your water pressure is not very strong then adjust that to the lowest water pressure. then on the temp wise, also put near to the lowest. then its contract flow of water temp liao.

There are many models available, not necessary expensive depending on what you want. There are more and more poeple installing digital locks nowadays.
