  1. he got good deal leh, contractor charging him at cost. so might be even less than $100 pfr. hehehehe...
  2. you might have overload your whole house.... too many items using electrical. you might want to get an electrician to come and check? that was my concern when i was rewiring. old hdb only 30Amps and you have to calculate all electrical items you have at home and add their voltages together.
  3. ya lah, too many ppl asking and they don't read my tblog. i keep on telling again and again leh... so must bold this big big... hahahha.... aiyah, i think ppl call him, also never say recommended by me. even if they say, he also wont know cos he don't know my name, only my block number. hahahahaha.....
  4. acrylic is solid surface, casa. any she cannot choose anymore cos her reno already finish. she just want to gather info for future, i think.
  5. i also catches cockroaches and lizards when i see them. but usually with tissue so that after that i can kill them! hahaha..... so my house also not that many pests... except ants and now i have the chalk, no ants too. hahaah...
  6. taichipanda knows more lah.... i only know from reading.... for solid tops, there are 100% polyester, mix polyesters and acrylic and 100% acrylic. LG have 100% acrylic and of better quality too so more tolerant to scratches and stains. and i think would be more temp tolerant.
  7. $571 per month for 5 years would be $34260 in total. so you are paying $4260 in interest
  8. No I havent done before. My solid top still in tip top condition. My friend (another forummer) did it before cos a lot of scratches. Her contractor did it free for her.
  9. The polish is basically remove 1-2mm of the solid top. So minor scratches, stained or turn yellowish should be able to remove.
  10. Those pellets only effective for 3-4 days then will come back again. These chalks?? Nearly 2 months and not a single one I have seen. My whole house is basically white so 1 ant will be so obvious! So only the chalks works!!
  11. oh i see.... not brick tiles lah... i think those are porcelain tiles? that is why crack easily?
  12. oh, someone came by? not me leh.... i still haven't had time to arrange with andrew to go over yr place... too busy at work lah.
  13. i also have ants coming out from rubbish chute.... was so upset with it. tried bought some ant baits, at least 3 types. and none works.... then my contractor's right hand man helped me to buy some ant chalks. Its really good... after i use that to draw around the rubbish chute, i have no ants for the past 1 month (coming to 2 months). I told getzski to get it and he says its very good too.... try find that around those neighbourhood shop.
  14. oh i see.... 32". interesting of toshiba to come out with these limited edition.
  15. wow!!! now all the PRs got no choice but to sell after they go back home country.
  16. getfuzzy have not been coming into renotalk since sep 25, 2011. i think all the request for ID contact will not be answered since he will not see anything anyone posted here.
  17. didn't know there are white tv. what brand and how big?
  18. potatoes, as long as you still have the extra tiles, your tiler would be able to add the ledge for you. and you can only add the ledge after all the wall and floor tiles are completed! so anytime you want to do, you can do it. my ledge was slightly bigger and i can put big bottles of shampoos (those 1 liter type) in 2 rows cos my ledge is not as long as theirs. if have space, the make a long one cos it would definitely look nicer. but if you scare that it would take up too much space in your shower area, then you can make a shorter but wider ledge.
  19. i think its a bit misleading cos 35k before carpentry is what kobelala said. so after carpentry (let's say kitchen cabinets + wardrobe + shoe cabinet), would be more than $50k too.
  20. I don't know any that will cardboard for you. Who did you use?? You request them not to use trolley inside and don't wear shoes. But expect to pay slightly more cos they have more carrying to do.
  21. To all that pm me for electrician number - please click on "Choosing Electrician" in my signature and it will bring you to the post of my review and electrician number. No need to pm me to ask this separately!! THANK YOU!!!
  22. Congrats in getting your new BTO. usually for new flats, reno is around 20k unless you are building a lot a lot of cabinets everywhere. there are quite a few famous IDs/contractors here so take time to call them and have discussion to find out which have the most chemistry with you and provide good pricing. It can be a fun reno... so enjoy the process.
