Hi Clare80, below is 'how i peronally feel the difference between ID and contractor' ID - mostly with show rooms and alot of ideas(depend on who u choose also) but not so much of pratical experience. Can let u see 3D drawing but with a deposit of abt 1K. Contractor - mostly uncle type. haha...but with years of pratical experience and ideas from years of renovation done. Most likely cant let u see 3D drawing but only 2D sketch. Cheers....

Hi, i have my house done up by one of the contractor recommd my forumer. Indeed the price is cheaper and end result is so far so good. (cause still renoing midway) Bery promt action for changes made and easy going attitude. Thus i decided to share with fellow forumer. Reason is because i plan to partner wif my contractor on his renovation business. I also beleive in seeing the REAL HOUSE (which is my house) is better than seeing picture. Hi Shanice780, my house is in the mids of renovating....i didnt post pic of the reno here, abit lazy....anyway if u wan, i can arrange for u to see my house. tinks it going to b done up ard 1st week of june. Those ID tat is visit just draw on my floor plan only...they will NEVER give u 3D drawing unless u pay deposit...so me and my wife just try our best to remember abit here and there....than piece up our design wif my current contractor plus his input from his 10+ years of reno experience. I must say i learn quite alot from him. Nice guy....i will PM u his contact...

hi shanice780, frankly speaking, $20k is abit low. do u need to do pastering? painting? if u wan to share commom toilet with bedroom 2, u need to do hacking.... not to forget u also wan to do up the entire kitchen. unless ur kitchen u don wan wall tiles, if nt $20k for enire house seems abit tight....just my 2 cent anyway since u got idea of wat to do, tink its better u engage contractor to do. i also got a contractor to do up my house( after meeting several ID and 'borrow' some of their idea ) cause it is much more cheaper....if u wan, u can PM me for my contact....cheers

Hi autbottle, actually i recommd u go case to complain him. U are at no lose at all except time. haha..like wat he say, under case, its all acceptable work. than just go case and check lor...no harm.....who noes after complain, tins will move....rite....just my 2 cent worth....

Hi tobic, based on ur request, it seems abit hard to get all done at $25K. i had my reno done up abt the same as urs, for abt $35k include electrical. there are some tins u havent include, like pastering of ur wall and ceiling, painting, piping, etc....if u wan i can PM u my contractor. i tink he's quote is the lowest i can find. hi marcge, i ahve my 4 rm resale done up by a contractor i get to known from tis forum. if u wan i can give u his contact num via PM as it not so nice to do in the forum. his workmanship and price is nt bad as he is home based office with 10 yr experience. alot of the forumer here also done by him. feel free to PM me if u wan his contact. thanks

hi all, i just went on site with alan. was quite comfortable with him through out the whole discussion. mayb i abit easily going....haha if any of u all wan to view the process, u can arrange with me to go up my hse and view lor.....i am ok....as long u all don mind its dirty....haha

hi sgdstuff, actually i also have the same headache as where to place my dinning table. but after a LONG tinking and discussion wif my wife and contractor PLUS alot of on-site measuement, i decided to have it in the kitchen. i will leave 7.5ft for dinning. level it up to same as living rm. cause i feel kitchen no need to be too big.haha. as most of the time my family will b at the living room. just my feel. for sharing with u. btw nw i am at 5th day of reno. all hacking and removal done. re-position of masterbed room done. all tiles delivered. today doing entire hse wall and ceiling pastering. paiseh....got no pic to show u all. btw check wif u hor....ur hse got goverent gas supply?? or u use cylinder type? i was told my entire flat got no gas supply. so got to use cynilder. i was BERY SURPRICE..... waiting to see urs...... emobebe>> when u doing ur reno??? u been asking alot of question but haven seen ur flr plan and update....haha....joking lar.... my flr plan is exactlly same as sgdstuff. cause my flat also in hg.
