i think to your friends and id are trying to dissuade you because of the extra costs - whether its worth the $300 - $400. but from what i read, you seem really bothered by it and i can understand the desire to have everything concealed - especially since its a new flat and you are going through renovation, might as well get it done properly. personally i'm with you - if can hide might as well. just be aware the other trunking to the living room air con would probably still be jutting out.

Cs, ww >>yeah searched high and low, talked to so many uncles in hardware shops, bought many pipe connectors that didn't work. So I thought I'd save others the trouble I went through. Glad I found that one uncle who understood my needs though.

Wah I like the dining table - very unique!
-
I like the bar stools - shopping around for a set myself. Where did you get yours? I like the color scheme, very masculine I feel. My house colors give a more feminine vibe perhaps cos my wife chose most of my colors. Ps wah Simon can do my house photo also? Hahaha

Can't wait to see the finished product!

I wonder if this service yard tap is unique to my estate only. Thought I'd share how to shop for the adapter for front load washers to connect to this particular type of tap.

cs >> if you are doing cove lights, just insist to your contractor to use led strips too. less electricity, as bright or even brighter than tubes, more dependable and no heat. only thing you wanna keep in mind, don't get cheated on cost - if they overcharge you just tell them no need provide the strips, just get the wiring point for each end of every strip done and get the 12v power brick and strips from sim lim tower/square. p.s. rick, if your toilet dark cannot see algae then better right, ignorance is bliss hehehehe. but i see your point.

You should be a tile consultant for all homeowners! Shortlist all the tiles that pass your quality checks and make them a sticker that says "inspected by may_dream1". Some day future house owners will tell their friends,"that day I was choosing between two tiles and couldnt decide but in the end I chose the may_dream1 endorsed ones because I trust that these tiles are the smarter choice for a low-maintainance, stain-free kitchen." -
I like the placement of your washer

Welcome to the hack and get a bigger bedroom club. Still yours is sooooo huge, much bigger than mine. *envy* -
Ely >> thanks thanks, I think this period is the worst though. As we near completion, my bank account slowly bleeding and the house is so close to completion but yet so far. E.g. Still no bedroom doors yet! Waikwok >> lucky jaskel was here to answer your question cos I am not too familiar. The laminates for the kitchen are the 2mm glossy white laminate which is already included in the per foot run price they quoted. They are definitely a step up in quality and looks from the laminates used for my wardrobe and cabinetry. Then again, the prices are also a step up la! Jaskel >> tankiu, tankiu your blog also very eye catching with the LEDs!

No luck on the pipes front, but here are the pictures of the kitchen with the countertop installed. Yuene if you are reading this, yup more kitchen island pictures!

Progress looks good, all the best for your reno!
-
hey cs, did you choose the colors or was it done by the id? very bright and cheery - really livens up the bedrooms especially.
-
wah i like your ID - at least everything is laid out in black and white. reduces a lot of miscommunication and lost-in-translation incidents. i like how the kitchen is done - you can only do so much with the small kitchen hdb gave us (sigh). just a note, the fridge being out in the hall - most times the fridge would be jutting out instead of being in line with the cabinets like in the 3d drawing. not only are fridges generally deeper than our kitchen cabinets but also you have to have space a t the back (i assume) for the plug so ur fridge back is not flush against the wall. that being said, the fact you place the fridge outside the kitchen without any cabinetry around it means u can choose any size fridge without worrying so much about dimensions. Hope to see more developments, keep them coming!

Unwanted connotations aside, to me bigger is always better! Aiyah your pictures remind me that I've still haven't bought any broom/dustpan.
-
Wow envious of your bar stools - are they the shark kind i've seen around? Congratulations on your smooth reno - really looks like a lovely home ready for you to move in
-
Eh cool la, add me on facebook. When you get your keys, can always drop by my place as well.
-
Eh ely perhaps you, me and Rimblock can make one for the east side. I also want to join you westsiders, like so happening! Can I kepo2 join too?
-
I like your bathrooms, and kinda awe struck with the simple white and minimalist change the simple white tiles made for your lower level. I think for your bedrooms the colors are just outstanding - but much too brave for me to have in my own place. Hope to see how it looks like lived in! I like your reno, will return for updates.

Since you are asking for possible layout ideas, here's my contribution Features include: - long thin shoe cabinet at the entryway - spare room and kitchen share toilet - like this dorms so if u are from kitchen, lock spare room door and toilet door before using, wc separate from bath area - glass door separation from dining are for kitchen (l-shaped galley kitchen with top bottom cabinets) - dining area with dry kitchen counter space (no top hung cabinets here) - movie room - living area with corridor leading to dining room & kitchen
-
Eh yup, I was! How come you know?
-
hey deelove, wah really using my idea? must charge consulting fees! hehehe but seriously my ideas might look good on paper but it's dangerous to just base it on the floorplan. having said that if you do go through with it, let me know how it all turns out. your layout is very unique, update us with pictures yeah?
