  1. 2. Your kitchen wall tiles match your cabinet laminates - cool! Your bedroom also I had to do a double take - looks like a 3d. Congratulations on your reno completion
  3. hi there PL neighbour, let me welcome you to renotalk! always interesting to see what different people do with our BTO flats and definitely will visit your blog since yours is exactly the same as mine hahaha love the arc for the cove light - very cool. keep the updates coming
  4. jaskel >> yeah thks for the reminder. i don't think i'll be pluggin in all my plugs and turning them on at once though. the advantage of the eubiq is really you can move the plug along the strip so there's no fixed plug points. it's perfect for my kitchen island especially since I don't have a counter - so the island doubles up as a counter/dining table. neo >> i think if she reads this, then i will lose (my life) haha here's something for all you techies out there - a simple stand can turn your modern kitchen into a smart kitchen! This week is more of a shopping week (wallet pain!) so here are some of the purchases we made. It's very fun but leaving it to the last part makes you really count the pennies (which is the prudent way). Purchases from Iwannagohome Purchases from IKEA
  5. OMG now i feel like buying an EA kitchen envy!
  6. Oh! Champagne and black - I was considering that but in the end settled for white. But your 3d now makes we reconsider, very nice!
  7. glad to see everything's going well!
  8. may >> heh it was really an impulse buy. on hindsight maybe cheaper to have just gone to a distributor and just customized for the kitchen but i thought new house, why not! this was before all the payments starting hitting my bank balance... chris >> the sofas are from garoo. click here for their website and list of shops. there were some hiccups with them - you can check my blog for details. but at that price for the sofa, i really couldn't complain. neo >> eh your house even nicer than mine. haha like you said we have similar taste. i only wish i had space for your island cum dining table. my wife also keeps my all white minimalist tendencies in check so *shrug* but i managed to convince her on the hacking and bed placement so i lost some battles but i think i won the war! waikwok >> that's right, as long as you can fit in the switches into the strip they would all be powered. but just keep in mind you have to pay for any additional plugs
  9. Opss yup fixed it, thks for letting me know! Don't worry your computer is not spoilt hahaha
  10. C&S, my heart goes out to you. No one deserves to go through what you went through. I think you have been very patient with them but it really pains me that we have such so-called professionals in the business and homeowners have to suffer the consequences. I think right now you are just trying to get the aircon over and done with so that you can move on to the rest of the renovation. Chin up! Hopefully the rest of your renovation will go smoothly because you definitely deserve it after all that you went through.
  11. Welcome to renotalk! Good thing that you decide to keep the flooring. That way you save a lot or else can use the money for other parts of the house. I like the layout - got a lot of potential. Are you planning to hack any walls? Update us with your progress and best wishes on your reno journey!
  12. Dear demonyi, My wife saw your 3d drawing and now asking me how come her wardrobe area cannot have that 'island' to keep things and display her jewelry. Aiyah regret showing her hahahahaha Like the whiteness! Will be returning to check on your progress
  13. Waikwok >> I created this today just for you! Emobebe >> ask away! I am also interested to know, all of us can learn together btw the package is just under $2k but you can get customized lengths from their distributors too, much cheaper if you only plan to use it in selected areas. Jac87 >> it was customized to our requests by room for ideas. Visit my blog for more details - click on the link below in my signature
  14. Today the Eubiq people came to install the power strips. Finally I can plug in things on my kitchen island!
  15. Oooh country style? Nowadays shops are better stocked for this concept. Simei's east point has a whole shop dedicated to the range of country decor. Also nex's king & king wong also has a good selection.
  16. Uh oh, poo was the first word that came to my mind too. Eerie.... How about pooh (the bear) hahahaha. Kid angle covered with most adults doing a double take
  17. Footprint >> you like? Wanna switch houses with mine?? Hehe your 'small' house is a mansion compared to my 92sqm.... You're right the study has attached toilet because it was the original master bedroom. Our concept is that the whole thing is one big bedroom so I was ok with it. My wife made a lot of noise tho cos she preferred the bed to stay where it should have been. Cold air sure escape through the gaps below my sliding door but I notice my current place the doors also have gaps at the bottom. My half past six theory is that cold air is dense and heavy so when it sinks to the bottom it just stays there and minimal heat is absorbed inside the room. Anyway that unit was supposedly able to cool all three bedrooms (18kbtu) which I think may have been a little bit of an overkill
  18. Hmm hard to make suggestions without actually bing there. But I agree with cs, it looks huge and I would love that kinda space and layout - so many things I would do. If it were me, I'd keep the bed in the room with the attached toilet instead. Seems the room is big and I love bedrooms which is spacious rather than cosy but that's just me. This way too, your clothes are separated from toilet and all the moisture. And I would just have 1 small study corner in the bedroom instead of the 2 I see there. I'd also stretch out the living area so it doesn't seem limited by the wall with the sofa. Aiyah I should sketch out all the things I would have done for you! Hahaha like playing sims! Haven't even gotten to dining and kitchen. Updates with pictures please!
  19. it'll be ready at the end of the month mah. if not in time for this season, i'm sure got season 3/4/5/6 hahahaha
  20. oh oh share your furniture buys, i would love to see which pieces can go with my own place! hahaha. can't wait to see your pets and their furniture too
  21. Yesterday the people from Besglas came to install our sliding doors between the bedroom and study. The idea is to close off the area at night before we sleep so that the aircon only needs to cool our master bedroom (2 bedrooms combined into 1) and not the study room (originally our master bedroom). We budgeted for $2k++ but the final cost was just over $1.7k.
  22. january >> oh that's good to know. actually I think we anyhow chose a washer based on the sales pitch. no worries about the pipe, I actually like going to hardware stores to look look see see. I wished I was more handy around the house though hahaha. moving in by the end of the month, housewarming over the labour day weekend. kor >> thanks, thanks. will keep you guys updated. i am anxious too! mae29 >> it's good you have white cabinets too, you know why? because I can always find you for maintainance and cleaning tips! always lurking around your blog for tips and experiences, let me thank you here in advance
