on to A HAPPIER event, it was also my hb's birthday yesterday the day of the first appointment for selling too that's why i didnt have time to update till today as we were busy since morning with the appt and running errands plus celebrating his bday in the evening. We finally had a chance to dine at Morton's since we found out from 8Days they're having their special Steak and Seafood dinner again; featuring a Single Cut Filet Mignon along with a choice of Morton's signature seafood, side dish and salad/ soup. It's really worth it since the set is $108+++ and the steak is already $88+++ or $98+++ while the salad is $22+++. We also had their huge souffle for 2, $35+++ which was very kindly complimentary since it was the hb's birthday. What I didnt like was the rowdy noisy market atmosphere of the place but i loved the food, which was too much and I had to give 1/4 of the steak to my hb and didn't finish the side dishes! We also enjoyed Transformers: The Dark of the moon after our sumptuous dinner - i loved it and think the new girl gives a more classy feel which is more suited for his new job and moving to the big city so just comes across as far better than the previous girl, lol Ordered this lovely rainbow cake with cream cheese dressing from my friend and we cut it with the boys before leaving for dinner

you guys are the best, thanks for your commiserations Basically she wants to screw $ out of everyone; her agent, us sellers and even HDB! her initial sob story when she came to view our place the 2nd time just before signing the OTP was that she is very pitiful, recently divorced with 2 teenaged girls, renting a room somewhere and working for someone as an employee - cause we have a clause that we will only sell to someone who is willing to give us 3 months extension past 2nd appt to to continue staying in this place so we have time to renovate the new flat and move over. So just this Tues, when she turned up at our place unannounced without her agent's knowledge or presence, and after us knowing her true situation from her agent on Tues & Wed we realize she was trying to dig some $ from us - we would have been more than willing to give her rent for the 3months if she had just come out to ask us for it instead of giving us lies and fake stories. She must be really stupid or just plain crazy to think she would be able to get away with trying to backstab her agent and us, cos now her agent has revealed her bank acc balance to us, that she is living with her ex hb in their matrimonial home, has a huge alimony from the divorce and even runs her own shop in bukit timah! Yesterday she turned up for the 1st appt, started arguing, questioning the HDB officer and wasting everyone's time, luckily he is a chinese - so she cannot claim she doesnt understand english or what was being explained to her, and quite no-nonsense type - so he is aware of her rubbish and lying to and about everyone/thing too. also luckily she is taking a hdb loan, so she will have to come up with the initial deposit within these 10 days so we wont have to wait till just before the 2nd appt like with a bank loan to find out she has run away from her end of the deal. We really cannot have such nonsense as we need the proceeds from the sale of the current place to be able to purchase the new place, so she will be in really deep sh.i.t if she thinks she can just leave a huge mess behind and not have any implications down the line.

he constructed a kitchen sink for her and st96 from solid top materiel so it is one piece with the solid kitchen counter top, looks great, just that there will be color difference. you should ask mae to let you view it personally, she should be more than happy to oblige if she is in SG and has time. looking forward to lvl 2, you really have the patience and energy to do such detailed photos loh but like what ely has advised, gotta be prepared for what-ifs and that things may not turn out exactly as what you have envisioned in your mind sometimes.

Incredibly pissed off with the buyer for my current place. Came up to my house with her friend without her agent, with a sob story the DAY before the first appt and wants to start delaying the appt or cancel the deal. It's not that simple lady and we don't buy your LIES!!!!! She better turn up tomorrow or else I'm going to shoot a lawyer's letter to her. Anyone knows of any good, reasonably priced lawyers?

I really love the photos and captions you have done up for your before photos! With our current top mount, we experience the silicon disintegrating through normal wear and tear , so have to reapply silicon ourselves but at least that can be done easily. You won't be able to 'see' if the silicon for an undermount needs to be reapplied and it will be too late when your cupboard/ items under will be all wet and mouldy. You can read kobe's blog for his kitchen sink installation advice and can consider doing what mae's id - Donny did for her if aesthetics are a huge issue for you

hey hey, we're defo not going for any undermounts, have had alot of hassle with the silicon for our current overmount as it is and personally do not want to have to deal with bo liao things just cos someone else thinks it looks nicer that way. We didnt go shopping, busy with the kids and housework in general and also i've lost the shopping for reno/ home bug since i was so prematurely excited previously i'm bidding my time (and $) for the appropriate time ie, after 2nd appt for current home and before 2nd appt for new home we have 1 month between them and we also have gotten most of the major items already. like you say, better shop with the id so we know what will work, the measurements, etc.

I agree with May not to hack the storeroom and instead use BR3 if you can spare the space. as for ID or contractor, you really gotta just look around for several quotes cos nowadays contractor price and some ID price are comparable, sometimes contractor price is even more than ID price too! you are so nice to the current homeowner to let them stay for 3months, my buyer is also doing the same for me. I plan on getting something for them after we can move out from my current place. It is really another stupid rule by HDB that ends up penalizing everyone for those selfish errant people buying HDB for speculation.
