  1. eh you said i shouldnt keep thanking you so likewise no need to say sorry to me at all loh, you're doing this for me on your own accord leh, already much appreciated. anyway i forgot to say congrats on all your swee swee grohe items, make me gian to settle my own bathroom accessories but i'm going to have to wait for my contractor to get back to me with my proposal, need to him so he can faster show me, lol! lovely bathroom tiles and kudos to your guy for helping you to solve your dilemma too.
  2. kobe, too sweet la you I saw the $580 and $720 bathtubs at Hoe Kee IMM earlier this evening when I went to get my mattress but very ugly leh... haha even my hb dont like it! Will pm you shortly
  3. Thanks for the advise guys but I think those you are quoted is for built in tub, so still need to get contractor to build the tiles which I read is another $500+? if I can really get a free standing tub for $500, please tell me where
  4. oh oops, i thought it was their fault for giving you the wrong color, didnt read properly! but perhaps you can try and ask them what can be done as the color is not what you envisioned since everyone who has encountered them say they are very nice? yeah, my family were all going around and testing the couches at the atrium, boing boing all over, lol! we bought the plastic dining table chairs that come in red-black-white that supposedly come from italy as we felt they were very sturdy and well-made for plastic. didnt take photos of anything i bought or remember the names of them now though!
  5. Kobe hahaha when they grow up, i can either chuck it away (going to get free standing) or play with my hb in it, hahahahahah TMI-time oh yeah, i went to kohler too and like their toilet bowls, basins and tubs just dont like their shower heads (find the ones on promo so ugly) but had very very good service there and my mum managed to score a kohler kitchen sink from them; the boss brought in just that one sample pc so we thick skinned asked if they will sell it to us. we found our new place & otp for it before placing our current place on the market. cos of my boys, i wanted to play it safe instead of doing it the other way round. i will likely start my own t-blog once i get my 1st appt for both sides la, cos for now i dont even have a soft copy of the floor plan for my new place-to-be, just the hard copy so will be getting my hb to scan it at work. I have already shortlisted my stove, oven & dishwasher from Mega Kallang and i had a very unpleasant experience on the phone with someone from AMK EJ and they are not cheaper than mega anyways, am bringing my fridge from my current place as it is less than 2 yrs old. I find expo is way too far for me, by the time i travel there i will fall asleep liao, no need to think about shopping, . Hope you get good bargains there, but do give mega, best denki and maybe some of the others a call first so you have an idea of the prices if you havent already.
  6. high end brands, hahah thats my problem, always like the luxury brands but pocket not deep enough. i am thinking of the bathtub for my kids and hb la, now my 2 boys squeeze into the free bathtub from the hospital of my older's birth, see them squeeze also very funny la and the 2 boys are always the ones enjoying the bathtub if we get to go for hotel stays! TBH i am so not a fan of bathtub (or rainshower actually) cos i find it is a waste of water and doesnt relax me one leh but who knows i may be the one enjoying them the most in future. is watertapz near bathworld? would appreciate the addy when you can, no hurry as i still have at least 3 more months to go since just found a buyer for my current place and only at OTP stage. hmmmmmz, you playing the devil's advocate leh! i really dont think can have good rainshower AND bathtub cos the bathtub (those from royal fanco only) is average $1200 already. we're already compromising on things by buying everything on sale or discounted! kakaka, i always believe why pay full price when i can get the same things on sale
  7. 1 contractor i met strongly advised against using laminates as he says he encountered clients with alot of issues re: pests from the food and rubbish dropping through the laminates. another 1 mentioned that people generally feedback that there is the hollow sound/ feel to laminates. HTHs
  8. Thank you for sharing your info generously! Hmmm, i think it's quite hard to decide on which to buy, especially grohe vs hansgrohe, unless everyone has personally used them as all have supporters. Glad that you could make your decision on which to go for did you go to this shop too, http://www.bathworld.net/?p=enquiry? i am unable to google watertapz though. It is quite difficult for me to go around to many places to rackey as i dont drive and have children to drag around, hahah so i shortlist those i want to go to after researching online. also i want a bathtub so it's either i get a bathtub and a cheap rainshower from royal fanco or no bathtub than will be an expensive rainshower, i'm a night owl, that's why i'm asking Q at this time of the night.
  9. thanks for sharing, where did you buy it from? lol sorry for asking so many Q, i've only gone to hansgrohe and royal fanco (haha, one extreme to the other)
  10. hi may, congrats on the completion of reno and being able to move in! i have been lurking around your blog and like the others am amazed at the size of your WIW Enjoy your new place
  11. hi sng28, i like your color scheme! btw can you share where you found this table from, looks good yet functional!
  12. sorry to butt in, JTS robinsons member sale is on this weekend and i saw a wmf cultery set at $129, there are many other sets too though more expensive! can go check it out joyous
  13. hi again ely, sorry to hear about your couch color JTS what the lifestorey saleman told as I have ordered 2 lifestorey sofas during their recent sale at GWC atrium. he said all their stuff mainly comes from china and msia too except for those eg kartell (and you will notice the price premium on these too). maybe should feedback to hommage and see what service recovery can be done as couch colour is really quite important to the feel of the whole room?
  14. yeah please take into consideration what gimz and marsh have shared with you cos now i am in the situation of having to organise and pay for opennet for my new place cos the seller rejected it when it was their turn and it is very important issue to my hb.
  15. welcome to RT, that is really a unique LO and wow , original condition! Looking fwd to the photos of it now.
  16. over the years, our family has bought 2 seahorse sofas. for the price, it is really acceptable quality. the sofas we got both times comes with an extra set of covers which are very important to us cos of the kids. the only downside is the cushion seat will start to sink in after awhile, like perhaps after 1 year of usage.
  17. welcome to RT! Unique furniture choices, are you getting them from where you are now located?
  18. wah mae, i agree with friend78 that this info is scarier than the haunted stories on the forum, now making my skin crawl! hahahah thanks for sharing this with us though, it is very informative and interesting. and thank goodness your sister has you to help her with this info, the $1k is a tiny amt to pay for such a lesson learnt & lucky escape!
  19. That's just slightly less than our COV for the new place, so crazy and my agent even says COV is still starting from at least $20k. The new rules dont do anything except make life extremely difficult for genuine sellers/ buyers like me actually Now awaiting your sister's A1 decor story
  20. Ely, our cards are already wounded from the buying we have started doing for the new place even though we are only up to exercising the otp and we haven't even sold off our current place yet! LOL and I am still clicking rapidly on Amazon & planning more purchases for the new place consistently , gotta chalk up those credit card reward points somehow, heh Our cats used to sleep with us but they have been banished out to the living room/ kitchen since the kids came along, anyway the hb developed adult asthma last year so it wont do to have them sleeping with us either. Everything will work out, if not get it rectified to your satisfaction P/S: Love the photo of the Cheezecat who refuses to move!
  21. hi ely, i've just started lurking in your thread these past few days and am very intrigued & inspired (oh no, gotta lock up my credit cards =]) by your extreme online shopping; i do alot of it too but mostly just clothes or simple things like DVDs or things for my kids. I wanted to comment cos of your issues with your pets dander. Not sure if you are aware that it is the cat's anal gland that produces the allergens and this can actually be removed with a procedure at the vets. We have 4 rescue cats ourselves and our vet, who is allergic to cats himself mentioned this procedure to us. Anyways all the best to your beautiful reno journey.
  22. hi mae, i havent even started reno from that time when i was sourcing around for someone for my current place and pm-ed you for donny's contact. And after many many family discussions and the 4th failed BTO application attempt (we tried on & off since last year), we finally decided to get a bigger Resale place instead and we finally found someplace suitable but we have to sell off our current place first due to the new HDB rulings for loan. dont be sad about your ID's situation cos things happen for a reason and like you also mentioned to me previously, finding a contractor/ ID itself is partly about fate, and till now he is still your hardworking ID giving you 200%! We're all looking forward to seeing your place featured in the papers!
  23. hi mae, sorry to hear that your ID resigned but it is their loss not to appreciate someone who is so hardworking and customer-orientated like him. Anyway, I am sure you will be able to assist him with his new customer base from all your praises & glowing reports of him. Once again, love your extreme makeover and now you even get to appear in the papers
