May! wah next time cannot enter your beautiful house cos head too big now and lucky i didnt bring the older one, if not you wont say such nice things liao. ader + seth, let me return the compliment here - may you are a really warm and giving person, it is our fortune to get to know you! seth, oh that is good news to me as i am more than happy to pass my kids out to any willing helpersno matter how much i want to stay at home with them, it just gets very tiring looking after & being with them daily. there were some nice helpers at the gathering earlier already,

miele out of your budget, sure or not??!?! dont joke with me leh! i wont recommend a bosch either, that time our bosch broke down in 2months or something dramatic like that too and after that my family swear off bosch stuff especially since it is overhyped anyway, have you seen http://www.boconcept.sg/Desks.aspx?ID=91196&imageid=1? their stuff comes in white, black and the wood veneer and you can ask them what customization they can do according to your requirements, heeheee am i being the devil's advocate here? as for the toto stuff, i'm going to look see for myself too since you have piqued my interest plus without discounts kohler (which i was considering) and toto are equivilant in pricing i wonder if there is a place that has both toto and kohler in the same store, hmmmm perhaps somewhere along balestier

Thanks may for having all of us over to your special place! -
Thanks for having us all over, your house is very very nicely done up. I totally forgot to pass you a little token earlier, will pass to you at our next gathering. Who is going to finish reno soon!?
-
from personal experience in my current place - as long as the items are worth the price, it doesnt hurt to pay more initially within our means cos it will all work out to be more economical and practical in the long run and pay for itself. eg. in 8 years, we've had to change 2-3 washing machines and we didnt even stinge on them; bosch, fisher & paykel (or something similar) and finally the brandt is still (barely) holding up so we've gone and upgraded to the miele package for the new place and they better be worth it or else we would be ! as for more alternatives, have you tried cellini, hommage, sanctuary dian, xclusiv just to name a few?
-
totally wouldnt recommend you to get these from ikea! my besta stuff is all sagging and they are less than 2 years old but they were a temporary fix for our current place. i would urge you to have a look at bo concept in paragon, similar to ikea (i wonder who copies who) but of course with better workmanship, feel, look and price their staff are really friendly too but i dont know how their furniture would stand up to the real world cos i've just come across them myself.
-
hi wei, hope that you managed to find an even better alternative for your tiles. as for why top loading are not white, i really dont know why and havent used them for at least 15 years! perhaps you can consider a front loading this time round, they are more water efficient though will take longer time than top loaders.

RB lol do we really want to list down all the shopping sites? the list would be looooooooooong as there are heaps of them and almost everything and anything can be delivered if we really wanted too. I frequently shop the Old Navy, Gap family of stores online for the whole family, http://oldnavy.gap.com/. Ralph lauren, http://www.ralphlaur...ndex.jsp?direct, is one which should please brand conscious Singaporeans like me, so will the much higher end net a porter, http://www.net-a-porter.com/. just to name a few other sites. For everyone - kohl's ~ http://www.kohls.com/, threadless ~ http://www.threadless.com/, asos ~ http://www.asos.com/?r=2 (UK - offers direct shipping), f21 ~ http://www.forever21.com (offers direct shipping), aeropostale ~ http://www.aeropostale.com/, drugstore.com ~ http://www.drugstore.com/ (offers direct shipping, but it's quite expensive) for women - charlotte russe ~ http://www.charlotte.../home/index.jsp, dorothy perkins ~ http://www.dorothyperkins.com (UK), victoria secrets ~ http://www.victoriassecret.com/ (offers direct shipping) bags, shoes - lesportsac ~ http://www.lesportsac.com/, crocs ~ http://www.crocs.com...default,pg.html, fit flops ~ http://www.fitflop.com/, tobiasmayer ~ http://www.tobiasmayer.com/ (Germany - direct shipping) Kids - The Children's place ~ http://www.childrensplace.com, carters ~ http://www.carters.com/, eco baby buys ~ https://www.ecobabybuys.com/, disney store ~ http://www.disneystore.com/, gymboree ~ http://www.gymboree.com/, party city ~ http://www.partycity.com/, crayola ~ http://www.crayolast...com/index.asp?., diapers.com ~ http://www.diapers.com/, http://www.bargainballoons.com/ I buy vitamins & supplements fromhttp://iherb.com/ since they do cheap and efficient direct shipping. If anyone uses my code EZO929, you get USD5 off your first order and after that you get your own referral code to share so they get the 5 off and you get some iherb cash back. http://www.thinkgeek.com/, name says it all. Edited to add in links, all with no country stated are USA sites & PS: RB, the first comment in this post is just a rhetoric question

RB, great guide! the other common forwarder is http://www.comgateway.com/ and there is one that ships back via container http://www.ezpzx.com/ also to avoid our local GST cap of SGD400 (items + shipping), always try to cap orders at max USD250 or less (dependent on exchange rate at that time)

wah congrats on your completed reno, everything look good! enjoy your new home! btw what size is your storage heater?
