for me,. Sat or sun arvos would be better as i'm coming from the west and i dont wanna travel all that way just to turn right back around shortly if it's on a fri night. unfortunately i cannot camp unwelcomed overnight at your house to raid your toiletries cos my boys need me, if i am not bringing them or i would need to bring them home for bedtime.. :unsure:was pretty tempted to choose the last option just cos it sounds funny

yeah sorry kobe, i know i was the main one harping on the bulk discount thing but my ID told me off for being so gan chiong about sourcing for these stuff, said only need to look when reno has started :bleah:so yes, we hope to be able to gain from your experiences with it

what i've learnt ah? things in the house start falling apart around the 5 year mark, dont know if this is cos we just did the basic reno 8 years ago when we moved in or that's just how long things are going to last. toilet flush buttons (macclaire - still using but without the buttons), instant water heater + ceiling fans (had to replace), nyatoh furniture like coffee table, wardrobe, etc are breaking apart where they join the wood planks together. the homog tiles and surprisingly the built in kitchen carpentry are still holding up well enough.

maybe i should install a wall fan at the WIW side too, after all it is going to be enclosed and pretty stuffy.... haiyah must ask ID how. if not, i will ask my boys to stand there and fan my WIW!!!! -
They are like a bratty child who has never encountered discipline and is now happily taking a dump on your head! Your hb and you really need to put your foot down about this whole mess and involve the company your ID left, it is getting beyond ridiculous and the total lack of respect they have for you is just appalling. They really take you for some little woman who knows nothing and is too nice so it doesnt matter what you do now to handle them yourself, they dont care! Are you paying the former ID company or your ID? :furious:

anything for you mi'lady, will specially buy a 6 pack for you and anyone else who wants to share errrrrrrr, what if there is no space to do a catwalk? my ID was complaining about my request for a u-shaped till i said, EXPAND it more into the room la! i'm still aiming for you to do the bathroom dance ala in may's place!

thanks seth, I dont have much to update now though, still got loooon way to go. I do have a humongous filter from honeywell, wonder if that will work? hahah just have to dig it out from wherever we kept it. adi - charcoal pieces? dont know if those will work but my honeywell filter does use a charcoal filter. i know baking soda helps absorb odor.

people who can do that are to be admired. i really hate having to pack and move now matter how exciting the prep is, i am so sad at having to leave my current home and so not looking forward to it. may not look like it but i am sentimental fool, lol. from young till now, i have been moving around alot cos of my parents, i think this will be the 8th move of my whole life. looks like my sons may have to follow in my footsteps, but i really hope not as many times! i hope you do get around to conquering bedroom 2, we'll all be rooting for you

for us, we have the experience of this current home and my mum's years of experience and practicality is most important for us rather than just looks. lucky you are on this forum, so can learn about what to look out for rather than just to go for the one which looks the best i remember i found a thread in this forum on one of the other topics talking about what people regret most in their reno/ homes, very informative and useful! we buy all our big electronics with 5 years warranty, but i really do not want to have to use it for the miele in the 2nd year onwards, would be such a huge disappointment after reading all the good stuff about it from the sg brides thread on WM. and did you know that miele in europe is on a 5 year warranty, only in SG do they give a miserable 1 yr warranty !!!! feel cheated! your lego collection is amazing! WOW, just wow!! my sons would be so interested in (destroying) it, must be kept away safely away under lock and key when you have your open house! the problem is the longer time to shop and plan, hahahaha been buying and buying - like may was telling me on whatsapp, the credit card bills are SCARY! i am holding off on alot of purchases now till the end of GSS so we are closer to the actual reno time . my ID very ke lian one leh, always kerna from my mum and me, we haven't paid any down payment at all yet keep asking him for things .. hahahaha but after seeing his showroom/ office & the limited 3Ds, i have renewed faith in him again, was quite irritated with him recently re: slowness of quote. We're going for modern resort theme, our ID uses blum and we're using quartz top, i dont think we need specialist kitchen people to do our kitchen for us la, nowadays all looks the same also loh.

guys can sleep anywhere hehehe j/k la. you're a good sis & aunty! my boys room will also be used for that purpose till they are older and use their own room themselves.

yes mam! prolly no sexy doorless bathroom then? Thanks for your advices! i was planning on installing a wall fan for the WC area actually, so that we wont be so hot when doing our big biz... hahaha i always blow my standing floor fan towards bathroom in my current home. Wonder if that will be good enough to dry the bathroom then? Is that even allowed in HDB bathrooms? -
perhaps you can do something with your spare room and turn it into a dream WIW
-
they are FANTASTIC! hahahahha always finding bits and pieces of them around the house. you are welcome to visit my current place anytime to look at our cats btw, since we're so near each other.

you have 2 mattresses? thought you bought serta ?

ader, of course seth and yourself will be part of the party when it arrives, if ever can you sense my impatience??!?!?! lol aiyah mine is the special promo set hor, not the 1 WM for >$4k type. If you go look through adi's posts, you will see why we ended up with a miele set - lotsa headaches, problems and issues with every single other brand WM we've had so far so I'm really hoping that this will live up to the hype, if not you may see me in the newspaper for throwing paint at miele showroom as for other great buys, if you can believe it that's the most expensive high end luxury brand item in our house; adi and ely's houses will be the one to beow their purchases! my ID has been nagging at me why i am so gan chiong to go and see everything now when my reno is so far away but if you read my blog intro post, i have been in this reno/ want to move frame of mind since last nov. i was actually hinting to adi rather than sir poo, hahaha never met him before so would be paiseh to go view WCs with him even though he is the man to look for...

thanks While you may feel it is a waste to dismantle, we rather be safe than too penny wise pound foolish to pay to dismantle now when all the major works are being done. I dont fancy dirt, dust, lizards, etc etc accumulating up there and falling down on us and I especially dont want any chance for an electrical fire to start in future due to the quality of their wiring being an unknown We will be constructing a simple cove lighting in the living room, that's good enough for us in terms of ambiance who have lived our whole lives without any false ceiling in the house and gives us space to have 2 ceiling fans! practicality is most important for us than just looks
-
Marshy, yeah their house is really empty, 2 adult & 2 teenagers - it's their personal choice *shrug* they like to move house every 4-5years thats why they are selling. From your floor plan, we both have the 2 odd big beams between the Master bedroom and for yours is bedroom 3 while mine is dining room. Don't be sad! you can use bedroom 2 for clothes for now till you have a baby

May - half my WIW is for my hb, half is for me, so actually I only have 11.5ft which is smaller than yours so dont need to be jealous la! Marshy, your hb and you are really very disciplined to keep to such a small wardrobe! The initial plan from the start was to have the dining table in the kitchen as that is what the current owners are doing now. If you look at their photos above, their dining space is empty ! I will prep some Heiney for you if that's what you prefer, if not let me know what beer you like and I'll get it for you to do your special dance in my WIW & bathroom But really nothing to scream about leh, cos no luxury brand bags or clothes to display in it for now Need you to lend me some of your branded toiletries to make it like showroom display thanks footprint i hope to have visuals too Kobe, but that's what WIW is all about!Google images Seriously that small? And I thought the new hdb are bad. OMFG! Ader, they dont need to sweat la, my WIW nothing fab inside one, hahahahah 'ho kua bo ho jiak'. I cant wait to see it too
