we'll be moving in slowly from may onwards...if anyone wanna give away ctns, let us know can??? thanks~
-
i think usually there will be a installation guide for the hood stating the measurements and the space needed to have for the hood...you should check... i also bought my 2 instant heaters at poh joo...i bought 1 707 and 1 alpha together with some toilet stuffs...
-
thanks toppie...i will go toyogo and see...maybe also can buy some other things...my mum also said don't buy the extendable ones...
-
so far, when i turn on my T8 covelight, there's no flickering...i think changing T8 isn't so complicated lah...just buy a new one and install or replace the Ncap lor...i never see my dad having difficulties replacing the T8 in his house... it's up to individual whether you wanna use T5 or T8 lah...the guy i bought my lights from told me T8 is more lasting...i dun see why he wanna bluff us since T5 is more expensive... i also bought T5 for my study table...$20 each...

hi people, would like to know where i can get the aluminum extendable pole for hanging clothes and the holder thing...anywhere near tpy would be best as i would like to get the holder and install first... thanks~
-
meepok, your wife had the same idea as i do...i'm thinking of doing shelves but i'm worried it will make the kitchen very cramp etc...later will discuss with id what can be done... it's just to prevent humidity...for wiw, if too humid, your clothes will be affected because it's open concept...

actually, no matter how experienced the tiler is, i guess hollow tiles are just part and puzzle of their works...of course they wouldn't want to do so much work, but sometimes, the problems perhaps lie on the tiles? maybe they tiles got problems 'absorbing' the cement or what??? got alot of reasons lah... even the hollow tiles, some might not even pop up next time also...it's like that lor, cannot everything perfect also... for me, can no need to hack, we of course dun hack...if the hollowness is really way to much, then we hack...if hack, also worry the neighbouring tiles being affected etc...
-
tension_z, for hollow tiles right, our tiler did whatever they could...for the hollow tiles at the entrance of our common toilet, they hack off everything and re-do the tiling...they also hacked and relay 1 tile in the kitchen near the toilet entrance... however, for the toilet wall tiles, the tiler said it's quite minor and it's at the corners...he asked if we wanna hack them and redo because if hack, it will affect the surrounding tiles and there will be more hollow areas...we asked if they could inject some chemicals into the hollow areas, he said because it's overlaid and the materials used for overlaying is different, the chemicals may not be easily sipped in...so we decided not to hack the toilet wall tiles... for the living room homogeneous tiles, we choose to inject chemicals inside the hollow areas instead of hacking off and re-tile because it's surely not going to be even and i also wouldn't wanna have more hollow areas to appear... my hubby's dad used to be a contractor and he's the one who told us about the injecting of chemicals into the hollow tiles instead of hacking off and re-tile... btw, we would love to join you people on saturday but we were very busy at our house because of our carpentry works, plumbing works etc...need to confirm some things with id and the workers... hopefully, we will be able to meet up the next time because my carpentry will finish on mon followed by the final touch-up... actually, despite all the arguments, conflicts, hiccups etc, reno is actually quite fun and a learning process...haha...when i see my house slowly getting dressed up, i feel so happy...and of course, so far our id is ok and the workers are really nice...

wah, i dunno such things leh... can pm me your contact, redcrystal??? thanks~

can i know change the hinges for what har???

for cove lightings, the tubes will be just rested on the false ceiling...are you sure the space in the cove false ceiling is so slim that a T8 can't even fit in??? T8 not so thick lah... loose fittings means, with the wiring, Ncap etc... for T5, got cover means the tube actually has another outer case, meaning the tubes are not exposed... i dunno how to tell you in technical terms...you go to lightings shop, they will show you...then, you can understand more....
-
for cove lightings, check if you can use T8 instead of T5...T8 is the normal fluorescent tube...it's much cheaper and more durable...i got mine at $9 with loose fittings...

ya, i saw the bangla workers bringing sand to my house that time also... i totally agree ah di needs some sweet talking...at least that time my hubby talk nice nice to him, his attitude quite ok...
-
this ah di ar...aiyo...he also gave my id and us headache also...first time call my hubby say he dun have our padlock key, then call him second time, he say found already...then, say wanna bring sand up 1 day, in the end my id say never bring up...then, dunno which day, suddenly call my hubby say he's outside the house but cannot open the door because we are using number lock...then put the sand already, so long never come and do the screeding...then, when they wanna do the screeding, he called my hubby say the sand not enough because our id use their sand and say what they cannot take from downstairs and want my id to take the sand up...when my id ask, they say where got cannot take... headache lah...but at least mine is done already...quite ok lor... and they never ask about kopi $$$...

wah tension_z...read your reno story...you went through alot hor... nvm, think positive at least it's over and you still got your renovated house... so, when are you moving in???
-
ya, alister's house the laminate quite ok...anyway, i check with my id, the brand of laminate we'll be using is call 'premier'...i never hear before but i see the samples quite ok lah...anyway, we chose the laminate pattern we like instead of the brand...also, my id recommended it...i saw the 'premier' brand also got lifetime warranty like supreme...and got more choices too...in fact, our first choice out of stock so have to settle for second choice... and i think my id knows i cannot handle another huge hiccup after the aircon episode so he knows he have to do the rest of the work swee swee already... but now i see my house getting into shape, whatever hiccups also gone already...i can't wait for my very own kitchen!
-
most likely...but if can win, very shiok leh...
-
tonight liverpool vs arsenal leh...
-
just a feedback from my id...when we chose our laminate on tuesday, we asked for recommendations, he said don't choose supreme because they always need touch-ups...we dunno wanna believe him anot but since supreme got quite little to select, we go for another brand which i forgot the name... so, after seeing bonkitty being fed-up with supreme workers, and tension_z's comment, maybe what my id said is true??? for hollow tiles, i usually check using a 50 cent coin...just tap around the tile and you can hear the 'hollow' sound...while checking for hollow tiles after collecting the keys, my id said usually those pop-ups that happened are due to hollow-ness in the middle of the tiles rather than the corners...he said, if it's the corners that are being hollow and the area is small, it should be ok... can i ask, for laminate flooring, also have to check for hollow-ness ar???
-
i bought a fabric one because i can change the covers...and also, the fabric i chose can be machine-washed...so even if dirty, just wash...leather must maintain, i don't think i wanna give myself more housework to do... and also, when there's kids or guests bring their kids, they tend to like jumping on the sofa...so, i don't wanna spend so much on sofa just in case and i don't expect a sofa can last very very long...just get a simple one can already... lastly, i got my mum to sew sofa covers for me...
-
i think you can ask alister...he has a slope outside... i saw a number in the lift for subscribing newspaper...you can check your blk's lifts...haha~~~
-
talking about neighbours...yesterday, me and hubby were labeling and checking the lights, this future neighbour of ours opened our main door and walked in...when he saw us, he greeted us and asked if he could let him see our aircon trunking...both of us got a shock but we showed him around...he's quite cute la...he dunno what's a false ceiling and ask what's that for...we also dunno how to answer him... btw, he's from china...suddenly we thought of perhaps they will send food to our door if they have extra...wahaha~~~ maybe he gives us chinese food, we give him angmo food...
-
my carpentry not up yet...but i will go ask my id...actually, i abit understand la, but dunno i got it right anot...
