Hi - Thanks for posting your experience. Which brand was it?

Thanks Buibui. I was told that Fujioh is made in China so i wasnt very sure if i should be worried about that. Good to know you are having a good experience with them. Right now, i am trying to figure out whether Mayer products are a good buy (Ariston / Indesit / Delizia) as compared to Bosch and Brandt. My wife likes the Bosch a lot but we are trying to find the right model at the right price.

Hi folks - I was at Absolute bedding (IFC, Sungei Kadut) not too long ago and saw the Slumberland Royal Excellence mattress which Absolute Bedding said was available only with them exclusively. Slumberland apparently supplies this mattress to the hotels in general. I wanted to know if anybody here has used this before and whether its good value for money? I saw that their RP was $7796 and promo price was $3898 (50% off). Obviously the retail price is immaterial cos they can mark up as much as they want and give you 60%, 70% off and still end at $3898 etc ... Anywayz at this price, they are also giving 2 slumberland heavenly pillows, 1 mattress protector, 1 slumberland bolster FOC. Any comments folks?

I have been shopping around for hobs and hoods. I was at Mega Discount yesterday and the sales lady told me that Glass hob is not all that safe, especially if you cook for more than 2 hours that it shatters and "blows". I cant imagine so many people using glass hobs if this were indeed the case. I tried googling for this but couldnt come up with much specifically. Can anyone here help share their experience? Are glass hobs safe for cooking (< 3 hours, dont think we will ever cook more than that in one go) ??? Please help !!

They will try to do this .. but you should make sure they count it only once. If they tell you that its the industry standard, they are just trying their luck with you. I was told this twice and i told them that since their material cost and labour cost is going to be applicable just once, they cant charge me twice for the L-section. So when one ID told me that this is Industry Standard, i just applied the per foot run for the L-section area and asked for a discount equal to the same amount. End of the day, you just want to make sure you dont get "fleeced". Its not always possible to get the best deal for every single thing that you do .!

Hi all .. i am in the process of getting quotations from a few ID firms and while i think that there could be a significant price difference in design as well as material usage, i dont think basic or rather essential works can have too much of a price difference. Can anyone here help me with the following questions?:- Hacking of tiles: Is there a per square foot rate for hacking? I want to hack the floor tiles as well as wall tiles in my 2 bathrooms as well as kitchen. What should this cost me?Waterproofing membrane: Same question as above: Is there a per square feet rate for this? I thought there is no difference in the waterproofing membrane itself that different IDs propose. Is that correct?Doors: What are the typical rates for a solid plywood plain door with laminate along with door frame? If i am being quoted 800$ for this, is it acceptable? What about louvre doors - any reliable place to get them at a good cost? I am thinking of buying the doors myself and supplying to ID as his costs are quite high.Haulage and clearing of debris: I thought this too was more or less a standard price under $500-$600 for private property. I have been quoted about $1200 which i thought was outrageously high. GST: Is it possible for ID firms to waive the GST? I am looking to renovate my condo unit of 3 bedroom + Study which is about 1550 sqft. I have seen on various threads that a lot of people have benefited from valuable advice in the forum. I hope i can receive similar guidance too. Thanks a lot.
