Hi all Need to find out more about OpenNet , cos I just received a letter from them which they offered me to make appt to install it in my house. If I am not wrong, it is optional to install but issit advisable to install it at all? My concern is that we will be moving out soon, and we are not too sure if our resale unit has already got it installed (prob will ask the seller) and if we needed it. I understand that the installation involves the laying of some cables into the house right? If I intend to install it, i should preferably fix it up before of during the reno so that the cables can be concealed??

After seeing so many blogs here, it's time for one of our own! We bought our first and current flat in jurong direct from hdb about 9 yrs ago, back then, we just got married and entered the workforce, had little financial luxury do to up the house nicely... no IDs, but just couple of contractors here and there to do up the essentials. time files, we had a kid in 2008 and have made the decision to move somewhere central and near to our parent's place. After countless viewings since late last year and 2 failed attempts (can't agree on T&Cs for 1 and the owner MIA for the other), we are finally getting the keys to our new place in about a month's time! this time round, we have engaged an ID to do up the house nicely for us. somehow, it seems like we are restarting again almost from scratch since we are 'downgrading' from a 5rm to a 4rm (kinda miserably small compared to our current place) and we won't be bringing most of our stuff over because they are either too big or too old.. the total cost (for the new place, reno and new furniture and stuff) is not going to be exactly cheap but i guess there is always a price to pay a 'real' dream home... the resale we have got is within walking dist from Queenstown mrt, very near to our parents place (2-3 bus stops away), it is close to town and had a great unblock view (high floor). its a relatively new unit and the owner had maintained it well quite. unfortunately, we will still need to 'operate' on it to our liking. currently, we are in the stages of finalising the reno details with our ID, we will be doing a lot of shopping soon and are looking forward for the reno to start soon in about a month's time!

hmmm i will test it first, my concern is that since i am doing some minor reno to the house, i am just wondering if its better to change now.... instead of next time when something goes wrong, i may have to redo all the truckings again, possibly affecting other furnishings

Hi guys If the purchased house comes with an existing aircon system (about 4 yrs + old), if its not those so reliable brand or very energy saving kind, would you continue using it or have it replaced? Is there such a thing such as air con trade in?

Hi all We are currently considering a unit and have attached part of the floorplan below. As you can see, the MBR has a toilet while the kitchen area has another smaller one, our concern is that we don't know if the kitchen toilet is too small for showering purposes? If so, is there anyway to go about having a showerhead in this kitchen bathroom?
